The only important thing is if they got to sing their choo-choo song after the game.
Brian Fowler Posted January 19, 2024 Posted January 19, 2024 I don't want to make light of the Terrence Shannon situation at Illinois, but the judge who ruled in his favor today is named Colleen Lawless. I could totally see a Judge Lawless as a villain in Judge Dredd. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if there has been one.
hammerva Posted January 20, 2024 Posted January 20, 2024 Death, taxes, and Big 12 being bat shit crazy. Always expected as #3 Kansas loses to West Virginia
Tabe Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Tara VanDerveer has tied the former coach of Duke for most career wins.
hammerva Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 If you start to see a dramatic drop in the number of crowds storming the court after a big or even marginal win these days, you can thank Ohio State for this. After a big win on national TV against Iowa, the fans stormed the court as expected. One of them apparently didn't feel like paying attention and it resulted in Caitlin Clark getting trucked and possibly injured https://twitter.com/TheFieldOf68/status/1749154686710497635

Chicago State's arena has 7000 seats in it, which is more than 4 arenas in the American (Florida Atlantic, UTSA, Tulane, Rice), 8 Atlantic 10 arenas (including Loyola Chicago), is 100 fewer seats than a Big 12 arena (Houston), is 39 fewer seats than Northwestern's arena, 233 fewer seats than a Pac 12 arena (Stanford). Don't worry, this project came together is a very Illinois fashion: Quote The convocation center is unique among Illinois university athletic projects, as Chicago State University itself did not need to raise any money for the project; the money was allocated from the State of Illinois Treasury by then Senate President Emil Jones.
Cobra Commander Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 also, the idiots saying Clark flopped there must be thinking that she's gonna split her time between the WNBA and WWE when that time comes (you know there's some TKO person who annoys WWE people by suggesting crazy ideas like getting big time WNBA stars or Katie Ledecky to wrestle for the WWE) 1

Why are you against FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN? Isn't allowing people to have FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN more important than preventing something with an the off the charts risk of becoming a catastrophic event like a riot or people being trampled to death (and there have been people who ended up as vegetables during these idiotic court/field stormings)? 2
Cobra Commander Posted February 3, 2024 Posted February 3, 2024 turns out that Houston being favored vs KU at Allen Fieldhouse did not help the Cougars much as they lost 78-65 to the Jayhawks and got KU fans chanting "Overrated" at Houston
Dolfan in NYC Posted February 5, 2024 Posted February 5, 2024 The NLRB has ruled that Dartmouth's men's basketball players ARE employees of the college and can legally form a union. 1
Pete Posted February 12, 2024 Author Posted February 12, 2024 Indiana State is nationally ranked! This is not a repeat from 1979.
RIPPA Posted February 14, 2024 Posted February 14, 2024 It should also be noted that IUPUI beat Mercy by 12 in December

RIPPA Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 Mississippi Valley State is now the only winless team (0-24)
Tabe Posted February 16, 2024 Posted February 16, 2024 Caitlin Clark broke the NCAA* women's career scoring record with a career-high 49 points against Michigan. The record was broken on a transition 3 from about 30 feet. Completely ridiculous shot. Clark is now 99 points shy of passing Pete Maravich for career NCAA points. * - as you may or may not have heard, the actual women's college scoring record is held by Lynette Woodward, who scored 3649 points for Kansas in the years before the NCAA recognized women's basketball. 2
hammerva Posted February 17, 2024 Posted February 17, 2024 Legendary Maryland basketball coach Lefty Driesell passed away today. While he didn't make Maryland the UCLA of the East like he promised, he definitely put Maryland on the map as a top ACC team during the 70s and 80s

Actually it's held by Pearl Moore, who scored a phenomenal 4,061 points at Francis Marion in Florence, SC (now D-II) between 1975-79 under the auspices of the NCAA women's predecessor, the AIAW (Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women). Clark is amazing but she isn't topping that.

Cobra Commander Posted February 19, 2024 Posted February 19, 2024 Mizzou’s AD is jumping to Arizona (which is her alma mater). This would be bad news for Dennis Gates, whose Mizzou team hasn’t won an SEC game. But Gates has a contract with a massive buyout so a new AD probably can’t fire him for awhile.
