So... apparently the Lakers are listening to offers on Lebron?
-
As Hangman Adam Page vs. Jon Moxley is probably out for the reasons you gave though it might be the exception and prove you wrong this go round, I'd recommend: Kazuchika Okada vs. Kenny Omega and Swerve Strickland/Will Ospreay vs. The Young Bucks. The latter coming from someone who cant stand Ospreay and the Bucks.

Just wanted to point out that, despite the online narrative that AEW PPV are too long, as they are getting longer, the buy rates keep going up. So, maybe people are looking at it as they are going to be worth the $50, and because of the VOD nature of all the streaming platforms, they can watch them at their leisure?

My local theater had a sneak preview of The Osterman Weekend as part of a double feature with E.T. Parents were not pleased.

The rare Rob Manfred W - going back to players wearing their own team jerseys during the ASG.

ALL IN IV - 7/12/2025
ExcellenceofAirPollution replied to Dolfan in NYC's topic in ALL ELITE WRESTLING
I watched the show live on Saturday, had a blast. The length doesn't bother me as much when the show starts in the afternoon and I'm blocking out most of the day for it. I even watched the pre-show. When the show was over I ate dinner and was asleep before 11. I'd be down with that for more big shows, going past midnight on Sundays is insane Thought the stadium looked and sounded great on TV. The pops when Hangman won and when he finally opened the briefcase were MASSIVE, getting chills just thinking about it. I'm planning to rewatch it in the next couple days because I was so into everything it's hard to rate stuff, but watching live the main event and the Bucks tag were my favorites. I know some people thought Mox might win and I think it's amazing that AEW was able to do that, but for me I genuinely thought the Bucks and Mercedes were going to win, and I was 50/50 on Omega/Okada......so it was pretty amazing to actually be on the edge of my seat for the near falls in several matches and also to be genuinely surprised (to a degree, those matches were all tossups IMO) by the results......and not in the "WWE did a stupid booking thing to swerve everyone" kind of way. There was no wrong way to go with the result of any of those matches. Cole stuff was a mega bummer. I was actually looking forward to that match despite not being the biggest Cole fan because I've been enjoying his work lately and they had good chemistry. When I saw Dustin was in the match it seemed obvious to me that he would win. Someone criticized the booking several pages back and I don't get that at all. It's a lemonade from lemons situation, the story of Dustin finally winning the TNT title....in TEXAS....literally dropped into their laps. Whoever came up with the idea kudos, because there's an old promoter's adage that when you have to disappoint the fans due to something out of your control it's important to make it up to them with a big surprise or a big happening and this was that to a T. Fletcher can beat Dustin for the belt in a month or whatever and it will be more meaningful. Everything has been covered for the most part....I just want to add that I appreciate the continuity with Roderick Strong and BEAST~!!! reunion in the Casino Gauntlet!! I'm one of the dozens who loved that little piece of business, a nice easter egg for the Collision sickos. Alas Mortos did not feel the same as my man Roddy.... -
Pretty sure the ships that fucked Cassian's planet over were specifically Republic so yeah the dark shit started long before the Empire. Some of it was lack of oversite, and some was specifically about whoever was allied with Republic, regardless of right and wrong. There is a reason the Separatists became a thing.

https://x.com/awfulannouncing/status/1944831861336748161 FS1 has overhauled its lineup again 3 shows were cancelled with the biggest news being Joy Taylor is out of the network Her show Speak is one of the three shows cancelled - the Breakfast Ball and The Facility are the other two cancelled Tangential to that - speculation is that Craig Carton will end up back on WFAN because of course that piece of shit will

Brevoort once said that he hoped my issue of Thunderbolts 100 had a cover. Joke was on him. It did (I mean...that time). I'd gone across town to find a copy. Made me think I'd ended up on some sort of list somewhere.

The stadium looked great. Anyone talking about attendance as a slam against at this point is likely doing so in bad faith.
-
Ages ago someone summed Mick Foley in a similar manner i.e. he's that Incle who shows up only on the 4th July for a BBQ or Thanksgiving. He probably gave you your first taste of beer and bought you your first skin rag. As a kid you looked forward o seeing him but as an adult would let babysit your kids James

Tony said the attendance was either close to or surpassing 30k. Didn't give an official number. He also said early PPV buys look like it "could be the most we've ever done" so if you are into numbers that's where they stand but if you just wanted to know if it's a big success, it sure sounds like it.
-
The last sentence in the ESPN article made me wonder how large the non-zero number is of people that call the Tampa Tarpons the Tampa Tampons.
-
the whack-a-mole mallet of selling continues to miss John Fisher
-
When Swerve is making his entrance, Tony starts talking about how he just looks like a big deal and he's really right. Dude's gear is always on point and he just looks like a cool ass dude. Also, MVP's verse on the Hurt Syndicate theme is very much ass. Not helped by a "live" performance.
