Pete Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 Between Hinkle, Bankers Life Fieldhouse and Indiana Farmers Coliseum that's three biggish arenas just in Indy, to speak nothing of Lucas Oil Stadium which I imagine could run 3-4 games simultaneously. You also have IU and Purdue roughly an hour away.
RIPPA Posted January 6, 2021 Posted January 6, 2021 Unsurprisingly due to the events of the day - the GW/Umass game is postponed
Log Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 Ha! There’s a reason saying someone’s a Cat’s fan is shorthand for “racist”* around here. *I know many, many UK fans personally who are decidedly NOT racist in the slightest. It’s just that the team’s fans tend to skew more rural. 1

No mistake, he's very pro-BLM and anti-MAGA. 2
Log Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 I know! It took me a while to realize it was THE Rex Chapman running that twitter account. 1

Pete Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 Central Arkansas (Southland), Eastern Kentucky and Jacksonville State (both Ohio Valley Conference) will jump to the ASUN effective July 1. EKU getting raided is the big surprise there since the Colonels were one of the OVC founding schools in 1948.

EKU getting raided is the big surprise there since the Colonels were one of the OVC founding schools in 1948. This is a strange move. It's a football move for Central Arkansas, with the rest of the good Southland Conference teams going to the WAC, but this only gets the A-SUN to five football playing schools, which is not enough to get an automatic playoff bid.
RIPPA Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 The article Pete linked all but says that its a football move (as like 85% breaks down the different football related ramifications). They are searching for another football member and could possibly (in the short term) partner with the Big South to allow their current teams to be FCS playoff eligible

hammerva Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 John Chaney and John Thompson were cut from the same cloth in terms of how he handled his players and how he didn't take any bullshit

UTSA and Incarnate Word would be the main hosts, which makes me wonder if they might try hosting simultaneous games at the Alamodome... you'd think they could pull off 4 games at once provided they have a unique horn system for each game. Host venues: Alamodome (two-court setup) UTSA Convocation Center Bill Greehey Arena (St. Mary's, D-II school in San Antonio) UT Frank Erwin Center Texas State University Events Center Everything is smack-dab on the I-35 corridor, which means barring traffic it shouldn't be more than a 90 minute drive from San Antone to the outlier in Austin.
RIPPA Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 Miami/UNC was postponed tonight after video surfaced of members of the UNC team partying without masks on in a room full of other maskless people The party was apparently held after UNC's win over Duke this past weekend
