It's going to be difficult for OSU to get in if the argument is them over another 1-loss team for the #4 slot because their 1 loss is so much worse than most other teams.  Oregon's loss to Arizona isn't bad now, but we are only half-way through and Zona still plays at UCLA & Utah and hosts AZ-St.  Oregon does have the 20-point win over Mich-St, so OSU is probably going to have to post a similar result-- even though it is away.

Obviously the 1-loss team they are competing with for the final slot can't be from the SEC, because they will have more top-quality wins than OSU.

Notre Dame has a chance to move up if they run the table. Winning at Arizona State and Southern Cal would be very impressive. Right now, their best win is Stanford, who is having a down year. Not their fault that Michigan sucks with great force this season, but what is normally considered a good win over UM gets them zero credit this year. It was a bad year for ND to not play Michigan State.

For most of these, is there also the chance that it's not just "SEC SEC SEC" as much as, you know, it being the first results and the polls specifically saying they weigh "conference champions", not just conference leaders?

It'll be a lot different if it's 4 SEC West teams in the final poll and non-conference champs ignored...eh, who am I kidding it still will be.

Well, OSU winning out would be the great test on if the college playoff panel is legit or not.  If OSU wins out - even if they somehow smoke Michigan State - AND the rest of the Big 10+ stays as bad as it is, then no way SHOULD OSU make it.  If the Big 10+ perks up a bit, maybe they have a case, but it's probably too late for that.

The problem with the whole BCS mess has been that OSU got good bowl games when they shouldn't because at the very least they bring lots of fans to the bowl games (conspiracy theorists also like to point out OSU has quite a few cronies in higher-up NCAA positions, but I will let that fly).

Personally, I don't think a Big 10+ team makes it to the playoffs unless Michigan State wins out.  Ohio State's loss to Virginia Tech AT HOME looks worse and worse every week.

Danny Kanell was getting his Clay Travis impersonation on while on Twitter after the game. Said that Louisville would sweep the SEC East and man, even a lot of the 'Noles honks were like "Nah, bruh."

That means Brady Hoke is as good as gone as well.  The timing is interesting though - a new AD will want his own guy as coach.  Are they going to get a successor for Brandon soon?  Or are they going to let Hoke destroy the football program for another year and then let the new guy hire somebody new next year?

Hoke was as good as fired as soon as soon as he sent his concussed quarterback back into the game.

The only way he saves himself is if they beat Ohio State.  And even then, it's doubtful.

If you're too dumb to realize that your emails insulting your own fanbase AREN'T going to surface, you're probably too dumb to be an AD for a major college program.

My post was written when the speculation was that Brandon would last through the end of the school year.  Since he's gone immediately, Hoke is done.  No way he comes back.

Dave Brandon has been getting killed in the alumni newsletter as well as his terrible emails surfacing.  He HAD to resign or he was getting fired.

If Michigan wins out, including the first win in Columbus since 2000, and wins a bowl game, Hoke might survive.

It was heavily rumored over their bye week that A&M was going to bench Kenny Hill in favor of of Kyle Allen. And now with the announcement that Hill has been suspended for a violation of team rules, I think it's safe to say that the Trill is gone.

My my, hey hey.

Great tribute to Lee Corso on Gameday doing his 250th mascot head gimmick thing.  It took a while for Corso to get it together because he was so moved by it  :)

I didn't realize Louisiana-Monroe was still doing the two-QB gimmick offense. Awesome. That'll make this early slate of games a bit more watchable.

Eastern Michigan is playing on a field that except for the green end zone could be used on a black and white TV.   Not sure who told them a gray football field was a good idea but he should be replaced

I'm sure he's a nice kid but nothing good can come from having a kicker named Blewitt.

Also, James Connor is a beast. I want him to stay but for his own good he better declare as soon as he can because Pitt is just gonna run him til the wheels fall off.
