Dolfan in NYC Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 It'll be hysterical when: a. Auburn is on the outside looking in because the committee doesn't want to appear to have an SEC bias, or b. 3 SEC teams are in the playoff seedings. Either way, we all lose. RANKINGZ~ 1. Tick tock, tick tock... 2. Mortally Locked In, No Seriously, Look At Their Schedule 3. Fuck... 4. Getting Screwed On Tuesday 5. Dear Committee Member, Your Nike Care Package Is In The Mail
Randy Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 It doesn't matter where they are on Tuesday because they still have the Miss St and Bama games ahead of them. They are going to need to win those games to be in the CFP picture. If they beat Bama, that will put them above the Tide. So it's immaterial if they are ranked #5 this week.
Dolfan in NYC Posted October 27, 2014 Author Posted October 27, 2014 Because it popped up on my Facebook: 3
Niners Fan in CT Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Alabama shouldn't be ranked ahead of Ole Miss right now.
Randy Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 I get that p.o.v because of the head to head component, but Ole Miss was only ranked 1 slot ahead of Bama before the loss on Saturday. Are you going to drop a team 0 slots after a loss?
Niners Fan in CT Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Why does a team have to drop at all? The #1 ranked tennis player can lose a tournament and still be ranked #1 the following week. Why? Because it's based on what he or she has done all year. We'll see what happens when Tuesday rolls around.
Tabe Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 Insert Tabe rant on how Alabama was ranked too high previously after a loss and bad win. 1
Dewar Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 No kidding. Alabama lost a game, and snuck out of Arkansas with a win. If Michigan State went to Rutgers and only won by a missed convert, I think they would drop like a stone in the rankings. 1
APO Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 The fact that you guys are bitching about meaningless rankings greatly amuses me. 1
Niners Fan in CT Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 The fact that you guys are bitching about meaningless rankings greatly amuses me. Can we complain if Alabama is in the top 4 when this "committee" meets?

EVA Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 You know who else had a bunker mentality? HITLER.
Gonzo Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/11775107/will-muschamp-florida-gators-says-adopted-bunker-mentality You know, bunker's don't always save you. . . . Except for Archie, but that's obviously more of the exception than the rule.
Kuetsar Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 You know who else had a bunker mentality? HITLER. I was trying to figure out a way to say it, just didn't come to me. .
Pete Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I'd be bunkering down too if my team was behind GEORGIA SOUTHERN in the polls.
Niners Fan in CT Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Florida St., Auburn, Mississippi St. and Ole Miss. Bah gawd they may have it right. Though I think Notre Dame is getting screwed at #10. Still, they have the schedule to get back in this.
muhammedboehm Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Miss St and Ole Miss still have to face each other right?
Burgundy LaRue Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Yes, they do. Alabama has to face Mississippi State and Auburn, too. The SEC West is nothing short of a slaughterhouse, preying on its own young.
Craig H Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Notre Dame at #10 is fucking hilarious. Oooooookay...
EVA Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Who y'all beat that's any good? I'll hang up and listen. 1
EVA Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 ND fans are putting a bit too much stock in that loss to FSU right now. Yeah, they played 'em close, but you know who else played FSU close? Oklahoma State. Clemson. NC State for a bit. I don't know that that means what it did last year when they were winning every game by 30 or 40. You know who else ND played close? North Carolina.
Dolfan in NYC Posted October 29, 2014 Author Posted October 29, 2014 I'm honestly interested to see how badly Ohio State gets fucked over if they win out. They'd then be 12-1 with theoretical wins over Michigan State, Minnesota, and probably Nebraska. #16 was a slap in the face to them.
Burgundy LaRue Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Who cares about Ohio State? *tumbleweeds through the thread* Yep. That's what I thought. 2
EVA Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 It says a lot about the current state of the B1G that Minnesota could be considered a quality win there.
