Control
Block A looks fantastic, with the exception of Valletta. Someone try to convince me that Block B doesn’t look dreadful. I guess Jake Lee takes it. Completely unfamiliar with almost every outside in Block B. No Akiyama makes me sad.
Ryan
Yoshida is Cyber Kong, that's not a good thing. Redman is apparently pretty good, was Owen Grey in NXT. Big guy. Sam Adonis is evil American Heel in Lucha, I have no idea if he can wrestle.
Jiji
Adonis is all character work. He struck me as a basic bitch who's pretty uncoordinated when I was watching him at his popularity height during the Panther feud. High potential for it to be pretty ugly in Japan. Control
Yeah, sub out Adonis and Cyber Kong for Akiyama and Hino and you’d really be cooking. Still, in Block A, every combo of Kento/Shuji/Mashimo/Zeus/Okabayashi has the potential to be great, and James and Aoyogi aren’t slouches.

Makes me think what he'll do with his character there. I doubt that many Japanese wrestling fans care one way or another about Trump. Maybe comedy heel? Ryan
Learn to wrestle like a heel. He could get really cheap easy heat over there being that character. Just support the Brexit and he's instantly a heel with of that audience.

sevendaughters
My read on Adonis is he basically did the same thing he did in Mexico where people aren't so bothered about PC (or at least people who go to wrestling shows) and transposed a very successful formula to a crowd who REALLY care about that. Which strikes me as careless, but I forgive him for that. He's a Brian Dixon guy (whose crowds are not 'modern Britwres crowds' and more working class family audiences) so I think he'll be fine - good, even - out on the spot shows where no real action needs to happen, but as soon as the lads put their working boots on he will get eaten alive. I quite liked Cyber Kong, for what it's worth. He stood out in Dragon Gate. Maybe not so much here. We are notably missing KAI, Akiyama, Hino, Sekimoto, maybe even Kohei Sato. 2 of those 5 and we have a real tourney.

Control
First show looks great and it airs on the last day I teach so I can relax and watch it. Finalist for B block will obviously be chosen in this match: -. Champion Carnival - Block B: Jake Lee vs. Joe Doering Block A final show at least offers more credible options: -. Champion Carnival - Block A: Zeus vs. Shuji Ishikawa -. Champion Carnival - Block A: Kengo Mashimo vs. Dylan James -. Champion Carnival - Block A: Kento Miyahara vs. Yuji Okabayashi I'm guessing that Miyahara vs Okabayashi is the decider, though.
matwarz
That first night is jacked. I may have to utilise my sub and actually watch that live. Control
Word is Mashimo was injured during his FREEDOMS match today. Hopefully nothing too serious. Apparently Akiyama had previously announced that he’d substitute in case of injury.

Brian Fowler
I'm definitely glad he's not hurt badly, but I have to confess that a small part of me was kinda hoping it was just bad enough that Akiyama would take his place for one more last Carnival.
