Control Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Every time this thread gets bumped I rush in to see if it’s good news about new episodes.... I mean, come on Amazon Prime, you’ve already got RiffTrax... 1
Pete Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 Twitch is running a bunch of experiments today that haven't been streamed before. So far I've seen "Prince of Space" and "The Dead Talk Back."
Pete Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 Synchronize your poopie suits: next Sunday AD, the MST3K touring show is staging a live riff of their original riff on Moon Zero Two.

I mean it's rough trying to riff on what's now become a comedy to begin with, but they're just sitting around twiddling their thumbs and trying to work their own jokes in without tromping on the original lines.
Control Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 (edited) I don’t think they had much prep time, but they, uh, aren’t bringing a lot to the table. I wonder if they use the RiffTrax method: cut up each film into like 15-20 minute chunks and assign a writer to each section, then come together and patch it together, punch-up the riffs, etc. Seems efficient. EDIT: Do they know they aren’t muted during the 2 minute breaks? Edited May 3, 2020 by Control
Gonzo Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Yeah, this is. . .not great, Bob. I don't know how it all came together, but it's a shame they're not doing one of the real classics or something.
Gonzo Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 Today I learned that the current U.S. Ambassador to Denmark starred in a movie that was featured on MST3K. She played the twin princesses in Deathstalker and the Warriors from Hell, Episode 703. 2
Pete Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 Awwww yeah. Missed opportunity not calling it the GAMERATHON, but that's a very minor quibble... 2
Brian Fowler Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 I wonder if that means Arrow licensed them back to Shout (Shout used to have to Gamera license, which is how they were able to put the five on DVD, but lost it years ago.) I know Shout helped Arrow out with various features for the new Gamera box, so maybe this is the payback. 1
Control Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 (edited) Why is it on a Tuesday though? Edited August 25, 2020 by Control

colonial Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Just noticed that Amazon Prime is now offering the Rifftrax version of "A Talking Cat?!?" for member streaming. The film is horrid as advertised, but Rifftrax saves the day for the most part.. 1
Pete Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 All five Gamera eps are now up at Shout Factory. 2
Control Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 I took most of the day off from there pressures of course prep and watched the full marathon (missing most of the third). Time well spent, I reckon.
Control Posted November 26, 2020 Posted November 26, 2020 Having the Turkey Day marathon on in the background. POD PEOPLE and CARNIVAL MAGIC are good picks. 1
Ace Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 Joel announced that he's launching a new MST3K kickstarter tomorrow. 1
