Well the Rockstar 360 star is currently down and I can't get online.

It is just like old times!

And now all of XBOX Live is down because of course it is

Well they have approx four hours to fix it.  That is the time I am headed home via someplace to buy a new 360 mic.

I myself cannot believe the hoops I just jumped through to get another Live Gold membership so I can play this game, and of course R* and XBox are horridly broken. I was expecting this, but even a poor child hopes for a tree full of presents (sort of) on Christmas morning.

I dream of a world where a video game company will have the foresight to beef up server capacity in anticipation of heavy traffic. I figure we'll all be hoverboarding around to The Power Of Love before that happens.

I won't be able to start the download until tonight. Hopefully they'll have it ironed out by then.

I thought I was Daddy Warbucks with my 4 million, but from the looks of some of these prices, I'll chew that up in two minutes.

I looked on GTA forum and, if I remember right, the Rebel with the minigun in the back is almost a million dollars.

To PS3 people: I have a crew but one guy is flakey. If anybody is needing a crew for some heists action let me know.

If you want to send me a friend request, my psn name is excallq.

In terms of GTA, I'm good at some things, great at others.

I went to the First Bank of Hooker Killing (a.k.a. my secondary character) and got about $5.5 million from her in preparation for this.

Some changes worth noting:

1. After completing a mission, they reduced the number of voting screens to 2 (first screen and one refresh), but the first voting screen will be six of the same type of thing you just played. So if you finished a mission, the first voting screen will be six missions. I think this is a good thing.

2. MAXIMUM deathmatch time has been changed to 20 minutes. This is also a good thing.

3. They've already freakin' nerfed the homing rockets. This is a bad thing. They now take longer to load and they reduced the firing rate. They've also beefed up "large capacity planes" to be more resilient against them, which is OK, because the large-capacity planes (like the Titan) arent gonna hurt anybody anyway.

4. There will be a custom blip (like the tank blip) for people running around with that minigunned Rebel. I expect the next month of Freemode to be everyone driving around in that sumbitch.

5. Something I always did when buying a new car - you can't call for your new car from your mechanic before it's shown as delivered to your garage. This was a tactic to get your new car quicker. No huge deal.

We will need a few of these minigun Rebels and Armored Tokyo Drift Cars.

Yes, I am slowly settling into Lex Luthor mode again.

Just watched a livestream and apparently people are having trouble getting a Heist started on PS4 also. Even though PSN itself is working and they are in the game.

I saw that and kind of wondered what they meant. I understand the longer reload time, but how the blue hell do you reduce the firing rate of a rocket? Make it fly slower?

(For the record, I have never denied being a dumbass.)

Got on for a few minutes at lunch to make sure the update had happened.  Saw something about drive-by controls changing.  Need to see what that's about when I get on this evening.  Hoping the flaregun will actually be deadly, unlike the old gas can.

I'm betting they've increased the time it takes to lock on to a target.

XBOX live still down

This morning I saw in the options that you can turn on an expanded map (there is also an option to make blips bigger)

Is that new with this update? And what are the reasons one wouldn't want an expanded map?

Well imma sittin inna motha fuckin motel. Wooptie fuckin doo. I shoulda took vacation. I dunno when i'll get to go home....shit ass r.r.

Anyhoo on to the new update. I may only have $2.1 million but dalmit that lil rebel with a mountie in the back will be in my garage. Im just glad its a million.

If the expanded map is the one I'm thinking of (the one you can get by pushing down twice on the D-pad), we've always had the option to turn it on permanently. I used to do it in deathmatches so I could try to see who was sneaking up on me (cough Dan cough cough) better. It gets in my way in Freemode, though. The bigger blips sound new to me.

I'm glad Buzzards are worthless. Never really felt any need to go flying around harassing people with them. I used to, though, go to a helipad if I was really close to one right as I was getting ready to quit for the night and pull the dick move of getting in a Buzzard if one was just naturally there and bugging dots until they shot me down, then leave the game.

To me, reduced rate of fire is that it will take you longer between shots (to go with the longer loading time). This will give Buzzards slightly more time to blow you up before meeting their doom and will make it even harder to blow up jets.

And Mel, if this thing works today, I will be shocked.

For some reason, my credit (or debit) is no good with XBox anymore. I tried to order a Gold membership through Microsoft, no sir. I tried to order a Gold membership through Gamestop (code emailed to you), no sir. I "beat the system" by walking up to the store and buying a 3-month card. I'll buy a 12 when that one runs out. Hell, as much as XBox Live gets hacked, might not be a bad idea to buy their cards for dumb shit.

#1 is awesome.  Nothing like grinding missions fopr money and XP and then your only options are a bunch of races and shit.

#3:  homing rockets suck already.  Hitting choppers with it on Survival mode is typically a 1 in 4 chance.

I've never dealt with them during a survival, but I know that they stay fairly still during Boneyard, so that shouldn't be a problem.

I just had the thought that we need to be Rebel hunters in Freemode and bring down assholes with those miniguns. They can't defend Allah Akbars coming from two directions - they may get one but not both, and as you know, we are completely unafraid of death. I say we make it hard for people to play with their new toys like the Grinches we are.

Of course - JT and I each have headsets being held together by duct tape.

I am sure that won't become an issue or anything

It wouldnt be TLJ without someone having echo-y headphones/microphone.

The most irritating thing about not getting on today was not getting to chance to re-learn the controls.

Took me 5 minutes to remember how to run

Ahem...

I did mention "dick move," so I'm in the clear. Besides, I've done that 2-3 times, tops. Once, I shot a dude as he was trying to pick up his Buzzard, so I had to steal it and chase him around with it. I mean, come on. This was pre-mines, so now I'd just mine it.

EDIT: I'm really concerned about this - apparently you can now move with any sniper like you can the new sniper. I'm scared this is gonna mess me up somehow. We'll see the next time I get on the game in April.
