Those of you who chose to believe in Pixar will be rewarded.  The others?   Well.....

I will bet against Pixar when there's a reason to bet against Pixar, and not a moment before.

Let me guess.  it is a Vincent Mancini review since he hates fun and children and movies not directed by Wes Anderson.

The negative review is from Uproxx's FilmDrunk blog

So you have your answer

Posted

Mad Max is at 98% with I think only 5 bad reviews so it still has a chance.

Yeah - and for the purposes of this poll, Max will lock in around 270 total reviews

Inside Out only has 146 right now so say its next review is negative - it would drop to 97.9%

Of course for those of us that didn't put Mad Max on our RT list it doesn't matter :-P

Posted

Oh BTW - the other Inside Out negative review is from the guy from the Chicago Reader who is a "top critic"

And apparently he didn't like it because he thought the climax was "too loud and busy"

Posted

And Inside Out is "down" to 98% as it got its third bad review out of 157

RT hasn't linked this most recent review - so not sure who it is from or the reason

Posted

154/157 puts it below Mad Max's 260/265.  Barely.

edit: The 3rd bad review is Julian Roman from MovieWeb, who seems to think it was too sad.

I couldn't remember which way the tiebreaker worked

Okay - third negative review was posted and basically the woman was upset that the movie made her sad

'Inside Out' is a sad, emotionally loaded film that drains any initial exuberance like a faucet. Note to Pixar and Disney, please go back to making films that are more fun than not. I don't want to be bummed out watching a kid's film.

So that leads me to wonder if she has watched any animated movie... well... ever...

Seriously I've mentioned this before but apparently when I was young I am told I thought Bambi was a truly traumatic film. I have no actual memory of this, but apparently it wrecked me. Maybe I just blocked it out.

"Stop making movies that make people feel anything but happy" is the most purely dystopian sci fi future thing for a film critic to say ever.

Also, really, Pixar doesn't make "kids" films (except for cars) they make actual movies that happen to be appropriate for all ages.

I think that reviewer was actually a man.

The movie now has it's fourth negative review, so it'll be a tight race with Mad Max for the first place. (Of course only until Pixels is released, which will surely get the perfect 100% score).

For this guy the movie actually wasn't emotional enough:

Inside Out lacks laugh out loud humor and its lazy animation is disheartening. Pixar films are known to pack an emotional punch and this doesn't have any of that. All it has to offer is a misguided heart that is visually displeasing.
