No, if I interpret the numbers correctly, Unit, Pedro, Bonds, & Piazza are in with Smoltz on the bubble. While I deplore the lack of support for Alan Trammell, I realize that a lot of you guys never saw him play and are just comparing stats with modern players, which doesn't make him look so good. While there are more deserving players on the list, an induction of these four (or five) is easily something that I would get behind.

So basically we suck almost as bad as the writers.

Well, he was a hateful little prick, but even I voted for him. The ridiculous love for Schilling is making my head hurt.

"I remember him being good." Sounds like something Frankie Frisch would have said after a few drinks....

I'm trying to figure out how 7 people left Pedro off their ballot. No hint of PEDs, he's in the middle of the ballot, he's certainly not the 11th-best player on that list or lower.

I think Schilling has a case: the problem here is just that Martinez, Johnson, and Smoltz were just better pitchers hen him. If this list gets thinned down in a couple years, his name will become much more relevant.

Okay - the newest members of the HOF are announced tomorrow.

Unfortunately - I have to close this thread to close the poll but we do have the other thread also.

We had 42 votes. 75% of that would be 31.5 votes needed for induction. So the magic # is 32 (I am pretty sure the HOF rounds up - and yes I know they techincally use percentage of the vote. This is just easier for me to do quickly)

So inducted into our Hall of Fame would be

Randy Johnson - 40 votes

Pedro Martinez - 32 votes

Mike Piazza - 32 votes

Barry Bonds and John Smoltz each got 31 votes. We are goofy motherfuckers.

Now - if submitted as a HOF Ballot. Our 10 names would be

Randy Johnson

Pedro Martinez

Mike Piazza

Barry Bonds

John Smoltz

Roger Clemens - 28 votes

Craig Biggio - 27 votes

Jeff Bagwell - 25 votes

Tim Raines - 23 votes

Alan Trammell - 17 votes
