Craig H Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 On paper, this show is more worthy of being a PPV than the last PPV they had. I hope the fights are as good. 2
TheVileOne Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I agree, but the only reason Jacare/Mousasi is on this card is because UFC 176 got cancelled.
smitlick Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Yeah would rather pay for this card over the last one.
Guest Edwin Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Reem/Big Ben is going to be hard to sit through if it leaves the first 3 minutes of the first round.
TheVileOne Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 I'm rooting for Rothwell to knock out Overeem for injuring Jones. Don't care if that's irrational.
J.T. Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Your wish will probably be granted as I expect Reem to gas out in two minutes and fall to the heavy hands of Big Ben. 1
Guest Edwin Posted September 3, 2014 Posted September 3, 2014 Big Ben has a worse gas tank than Reem, so I'm certain Reem should be able to beat him for 3 minutes and then play it safe by clinching with him against the cage for 12+ minutes.
glfpunk Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Yeah, Rothwell isn't some marvel of cardio. I fully expect Reem to just chill and try to play it safe. Make it through the first round and then probably use takedowns. Probably an ugly boring fight.
Zero Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Rothwell has never won 2 straight fights in the UFC. So, Overeem wins
TheVileOne Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Not that it's impossible, but Overeem has never been a cardio machine either. It's generally one of his weakest attributes.
Guest Edwin Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Do Bronx/Lentz has been cancelled since the doctos have pulled Do Bronx from the bout.
epwar Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Can we fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinally be done with Overeem?
Zero Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Overeem not so good without massive amount of steroids. 1
TheVileOne Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Thank you Ben Rothwell for avenging the lost UFC 178 main event. Overeem - most overrated heavyweight prospect of all time.
hammerva Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Can we fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinally be done with Overeem? Hey I hear Bellator is hiring ALL of the has beens. I wonder how Overeem would look in a mask
epwar Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Thank you Ben Rothwell for avenging the lost UFC 178 main event. Overeem - most overrated heavyweight prospect of all time. The fact that he became a heavyweight prospect at all is a joke.
Elsalvajeloco Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 If this was pro wrestling, he would just move to another promotion and be renamed Al Star Overeem. 2014 body with the 2004 chin. 1
epwar Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Man, I can't decide if Weidman/Jacare is going to be a great fight or not.
Elsalvajeloco Posted September 6, 2014 Author Posted September 6, 2014 By the time Weidman fights him, Chris would have went like 2 and 1/2 years without fighting an orthodox fighter. That's like Roy Jones Jr.'s stretch in like 1998-99 when he fought like 3 or 4 southpaws in a row after never facing them before.
epwar Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Per the post-fight show, Overeem broke Rothwell's right arm early in the first with a kick. Yes, the same arm Rothwell used to KO him.
John E. Dynamite Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 If this was pro wrestling, he would just move to another promotion and be renamed Al Star Overeem. 2014 body with the 2004 chin. Remy "The All-Star" Overmann. Why do (did) people keep saying Overeem was still a good striker when the guy never moves his feet and keeps his chin straight up? I think back to the Werdum fight - my biggest takeaway from that trainwreck was "I think Werdum shoulda tried to strike with him" - he was landing.
