T.Rex-n-effeckx
Opening credits of The Strip which is worth tracking down for young adult Rooney. Quicksand is probably my favorite Rooney Film Noir This is a spectacular prickly Rooney interview with a million quotable lines-Interviewer: You said in the bookRooney: No those are lines in a bookInterviewer: What was the process to develop the characterRooney: I went to work that morning:http://www.cbc.ca/player/AudioMobile/Rewind/ID/2331221204/

Casey
He only had around $18k to his name when he died. That's just fucking sad Disavowed all of his living relatives, too, except for one step-son (his caretaker).
Johnny Sorrow
If you can find it, read his autobiography. Its hilarious and he doesn't shy away from talking about every sordid and x rated detail of his life and classic Hollywood. When I was working at the nursing home, I picked it up from the library to read to our residents, figuring that they'd love to hear stories about Mickey and Judy. Thankfully I started reading it ahead of time as I don't think the residents wanted to hear about Tallulah Bankhead eating pussy or Marilyn Monroe telling him that she wanted to be the best at sucking cock in Hollywood.
