Stardom

Interesting the high speed belt came after the white belt match.

Anyway Saya has a new record. And she nominated Mina.

Giulia (c) vs Tam is next for the red belt.

Spoiler

AZM has the higher profile, since she's gonna face Mercedes for the IWGP title next month.

Results from last night/this morning.

Spoiler

Hina def. Rina and Miyu Amasaki

Lady C & Utami Hayashishita def Ram Kaichow & Maika Ozaki (C & Utami then did commentary for the main show.)

Maika, Thekla, & Mai Sakurai def. Mina Shirakawa, Mariah May, & Waka Tsukiyama
Mina did introduce Mariah, but not Waka.  Mariah and Thekla had some fun doing each other's counters towards the beginning. Maika is NOT blonde after all.

Natsuko Tora, Momo Watanabe, Saki Kashima, Ruaka, & Fukigen Desu def Mayu Iwatani, Momo Kohgo, Saya Iida, Hanan, & Koguma
Hanan is ridiculous when she's in a team just being taller and wider than the others. The sisters are gonna be gigantic when they all grow up.

Syuri, MIRAI, & Ami Sorhei def Tam Nakano, Natsupoi, & SAKI
Sadly, SAKI has lost her cool lion COLOR'S championship. Poi got murked.

Suzu Suzuki, Risa Sera, & Hiragi Kurumi def Nanae Takahashi, Yuu, and Yuna Mizumori
Suzu took a LOT of abuse during this match, and Kurumi had a coming out party going HAM on 7Uppp. God's Eye watched from the back of the crowd. Afterwords, Suzu called out God's Eye and said that the finals match would also be an Artist of Stardom Match.

Intermission

Chihiro Hashimoto def Himeka
Hash went after Himeka's knee for most of the match. Afterwards, she challenged Syuri for Yokohama.

Saya Kamitani def Hazuki to retain the Wonder of Stardom Championship.
Very good match. Both women pulled out all the stops and Saya had to hit 3 Star Crushers in a row followed by a 450 to win. Saya then summoned Mina Shirakawa to the ring and set up a title rematch for Yokohama.

AZM def. Starlight Kid
A good match, as expected.

Giulia & Maya Yukihi went to a Double Count Out. Giulia retains the World of Stardom Championship
This was BRUTAL. Lots of outside the ring shenanigans. Giulia piledrove Maya through a table. Maya Tiger Drivered Giulia into a table that collapsed instead of broke. After the post match promos, Giulia went up the ramp to end up face to face with Tam Nakano. Tam brushed Giulia aside on the way to the ring and challenged for the title at Yokohama.

Suzu Suzuki, Risa Sera, and Hiragi Kurumi def. Syuri, MIRAI, and Ami Sourei to win the Triangle Derby, and retain the Artist of Stardom Championship.
Poor, poor MIRAI got brutalized. Prominence closed out the show, being actually endearing trying to teach a hand signal for Prominence to the crowd. After they went to the back to cut a post-match promo, Utami, AZM, & Tall Saya dropped by to challenge. Really, Utami did the challenging, as AZM just kept posing with Prominence.

So right now, All Star Grand Queendom on April 24th looks like this:

Spoiler

Mercedes Monè vs. AZM for the IWGP Women's Championship

Giulia vs Tam Nakano for the World of Stardom Championship

Saya Kamitani vs Mina Shirakawa for the Wonder of Stardom Championship

Chihiro Hashimoto vs Syuri

Maika vs Himeka (Himeka's retirement match)

So while Nanae was getting ready to paintbrush the hell out of Waka and Tam at a completely seperate presser, Utami was busy ethering her at the Cinderella tournament presser.

https://twitter.com/HaruSor02640404/status/1633090163533393920

I believe the full quote is this:

Quote

"Nanae Takahashi, who wants to see that old hag in a dress? No matter how you think about it, of course you'd all rather see this Utami Hayashishita in a dress. I want to stop that old woman from wearing a dress."

Brutal ageism aside, I like that Utami is playing up the ridiculousness of the Cinderella tournament concept that seems totally like something from Continental wrestling in 1987. She totally broke Maika, Syuri (who herself as always broke everyone earlier by desperately pleading to wear a glittery dress), and Momo Kohgo.

As I said on reddit, AZM taught Utami well. Syuri and Komomo just pulling their faces down so people wouldn't see them break that bad was great.

If Himeka and Natsupoi don't tearfully reconcile in their final match I'm rage quitting Stardom

Sarray leaving WWE, she wil go back to Japan to start up her own new promotion

https://www.tokyo-sports.co.jp/articles/-/256315

Terribly mismanaged career once NXT got rebranded. 2.0 is literally the worst thing to happen to that brand smh

Would have liked to see her end up in stardom, but I hope her promotion is successful. She's a very good wrestler with years left in the tank

It's really her small booking agency masquerading as promotion.

Stardom news:

Stardom was at Korakuen Hall, and 904 fans showed up. Fuwa Chan appeared and she will wrestle again on 4.23.

Spoiler

Natsupoi made Himeka submit. Himeka wants to basically redo one of the old ActWres tag matchs, so Natsupoi and Kakeru Sekiguchi vs Himeka and Miyuki Takase.

Himeka vs Mina too.

The main event had people rooting for Ruaka.

Spoiler

MIRAI the fake ace and Ami Sohrei are the next challengers for the tags.

I omitted several things, the rest is on Purolove.

Bit old but KAIRI will bring in her special tag partner at the upcoming Yokohama show.

I am ignoring the tall Saya news from Tokyo Sports because it's kayfabe made up news to a point.

Good to see Fuwa Chan appearing again. Her debut match got a lot of good reactions even from a covid clapping crowd, and she was surprisingly solid.

Just info dumping...

Stardom was established in 2010, internally re-established again in 2016.  Bushiroad purchased the box office rights and more rights from the 2016 established company, and sent all of it to Bushiroad subsidiarity Kicks Road Co., Ltd in 2019, which was the old martial art division and was renamed to Bushiroad Fight Co, Ltd.  Now Bushiroad Fight Inc.

Kicks Road Co., Ltd. was established in 2016.

Some info here https://bushiroad.co.jp/company/history

Her general outlook on her time with WWE didn't seem too critical at all. Does seem like she prefers doing her thing home in front of a Japanese audience though.

I still don't see the freelance option being the best for her.
