Pedro
I'm at crossroads (no Cody pun intended) with the NFL. I've said this before, ever since gambling became legal in the US there has been nothing but flag after flag. If you look back last year almost every single prime time game came down to the final play. You mean to tell me there wouldn't be at least one expected blowout? If you gamble you will know just how close the point spreads are and it's wild to see. Vikings and the Saints for example. Vikings -3.5 favorites and the line didn't change when it was announced no Thomas, no Kamara, no Winston. VIkings should have won big and in the end they only win by 3 pts. Vegas was the real winner. GB-NE another example. If you watched that game and don't think it was influenced by the officials you have to be blind. Sure the Packers lost many key players but a third string QB almost beating Aaron Rodgers?! Come on. Last week KC and Buffalo both losing in similar fashion? All these miraculous 4th quarter comebacks this year. Look into Live Betting. Vegas is making a killing off of this. I don't remember when there were blowouts and the ref's weren't the stars of the show
Kevin Wilson
I won't ever be convinced there is a gambling conspiracy in the NFL. I would be on-board at the college level if there was some actual proof, or lower level sports, but the NFL cares too much about the "integrity" of the game. Hell, one could argue its the only thing Goodell cares about besides profits, they have too much to lose if word got out that anything was off-board. And to pull it off, waaaaay too many people would have to be in the loop, which would then leak. Officials have made bad calls since the beginning of time, you'll never find a season that ended where fans said "yep, refs were really great this year," they are always the scapegoat and have been since the NFL existed. The Bills lost against Miami because they had 3049 injuries and were melting, even Bills fans don't blame the referees for that one. Every week you can pick and choose 'close games' that were near the spread but there are always spreads wildly wrong also. But I know people love their conspiracy theories in general, if that is what keeps people's brains engaged then more power to them. But the more you think about it, the number of people that would be involved, the number of really really bad calls they'd need to make to keep a game close that shouldn't be, its not particularly logical.

I've definitely read up on it but I also don't think they check the ref's bank accounts. How easy would it be for them to even have a family member make the bet for them and they influence the game. The NFL as a whole has to think that fans want less flags more action. What do we get? More flags, and maybe 11 total minutes of actual action each game. Look deep into those stats. It amazed me that in a 60 min game we see maybe 11 total mins of action.

(I'm assuming Tyler Thigpen's phone was disconnected.) They chose Sinnett. He'll be on the practice squad as pre-season terror Skylar Thompson is now the backup.
RIPPA
Reportedly there are more than just Fromm being worked out by the Giants but Fromm is the only name the Giants reporters have mentioned (probably because of the fiasco of last year) I mean it really doesn't matter as the starter will be Daniel Jones or Davis Webb but they need a backup in case Jones can't play. I am all for Saquon running wildcat the entire game.

Maybe.

Dude the NFL has former FBI, IRS, CIA, NSA, and Mossad agents on their payroll basically spying on players, coaches, front office, owners, refs and so on, mainly for what you just posted. Next the sports books all share information, if a lot of money goes on a team and it seems even a little bit fishy red flags go up and they investigate, that's basically what brought down all of the college basketball point shaving scandals the past 30 years. There's 40 seconds between plays, that's why the NFL only has 12ish minutes of actual game play, it has nothing to do with penalties.

Kevin Wilson
I continue to be surprised and will always be surprised that Brady came back after winning the TB Super Bowl. That was literally the perfect time to retire, he got a ring, proved to everyone he didn't need the Patriots, solidified whatever records he wanted to get. I know that "the game" is addicting, and he wouldn't be the first player to stay longer than he probably should have. But he had it all wrapped up for him with a bow on top.

Nobody thinks they somehow overrode the decision of the independent doctor. They just think the Dolphins should have used their own eyes instead of being willfully ignorant by playing Tua when he was OBVIOUSLY injured. Matter of fact, the biggest reward for being a great football player is reaching a status where a super model would consider having sex with me. I would have retired as soon as she said yes to the proposal. Why risk life altering injury when I could be at home feeling on Giselle's booty?

I see your point but look back the last two years at the prime time games. Monday, Thurs, Sunday night. Lets throw in these AM England games for shits and giggles. How many of these games were decided by 3 pts or less? How many were won due to the very last miracle comeback play? If it's a handful of times sure I'l believe it. But when you see how often it actually happened it's mindblowing. But hell I still watch.

Since you asked, of the 13 primetime games this year, only three were decided by three points or less. None of the Week 4 games were, in fact all were at least 10 point victories this past week. 4 out of 14 if you want to include the England game that no one watched. That's.... not a lot, if you think the NFL is fixing they are doing a really shitty job at it. I think that people watch one or two primetime games and work themselves into a shoot, without looking at the bigger picture. Its not a real thing.

That's.... not a lot, if you think the NFL is fixing they are doing a really shitty job at it. I think that people watch one or two primetime games and work themselves into a shoot, without looking at the bigger picture. Its not a real thing. Not only are they not fixing games, it would be the single dumbest conspiracy of all time. Seriously, it's been proven time and time again that we'll watch NFL football no matter what. If the games are close, we'll watch. If the games are blowouts we'll watch. If the star quarterback is playing, we'll watch. If the backup plays, we'll watch. Kaepernick kneels, and bunch of people claim they'll never watch again, but they still watched. Kaepernick gets blackballed and a whole other group claims they'll never watch again, but they still watched. So, why would they try to fix the games? OK, so we've established that there is no real reason for the league to fix games, let's go to the referees. The average salary for an NFL official is $205K per year, for a part time job that you only have to work one day a week, for less than half the year. The average NFL referee, who is the head official, gets paid over $500K. Note, that these are salary jobs, you get paid your rate no matter how many game you officiate. On top of the fact that these dudes get paid absurdly well for the amount of time they have to work, there are seven officials per game. So even if one went rogue, there are six other people who would like to keep making that money and not spend time in federal prison. It's not impossible for someone to try to rig an NFL game, but there are 22 people on the field at one time playing a game with funny shaped ball. Even if you try to fix the game there are too many variables to do it with any consistency.

I should have clarified that better. Strangely this year has seen some blowouts which has not been the norm for quite some time. I bet every NFL game every week and follow the spreads close. Some are headscratchers such as Broncos being favored over the Colts this Thurs. Russ had a sore shoulder and Williams is out for the season. Broncos D vs an inconsistant Matt Ryan. Should be fun.
