  3. Hopefully not with ear/face mutilation every night around the horn.
  4. Tony Storm vs Mercedes Mone Hangman Page vs Moxley Okada vs Kenny Omega Hurt Syndicate vs JetSpeed vs Patriarchy Adam Cole vs Kyle Fletcher Young Bucks vs Swerve/Ospreay I have no idea who wins the Women's Casino Gauntlet. Athena seems like a good choice or maybe Megan Bayne. Men's Casino Gauntlet could go so many ways. If Mox is retaining my pick is Briscoe. Otherwise MJF seems like a safe choice. I hope it's not a MITB briefcase like at last year's All In
  5. Piper and Valentine did 8 rematches of the Dog Collar match in December 1983, which feels insane
  6. Yeah that match definitely delivered and then some. Just violence for the sake of violence as Dusty would say. Two bat shit crazy guys with no care in the world So is it safe to start having the "is this Piper best dog collar match of 1983" argument?
  7. When my wife and I were in Hawaii for our honeymoon, she very quickly got sick of me saying, “You know, here they just call them shirts.” every time we’d see a Hawaiian shirt.
  8. I like to think in Germany they just call it a suplex James
  9. I missed the first 27 minutes of the show because I thought it was starting at 7pm Central and not 7pm Eastern Instant review of Piper/Sawyer: boy, they sure did bleed a whole fucking lot
  10. Pretty sure I saw somewhere that Swerve's promo before he crushed the limo referenced a Hangman promo from a while back. I still think Swerve is going to assist
  11. Surely you mean NXT Prohibited Portal on August 24? That has nothing to do with anything!
  12. So wait did Greg Valentine invent the Gonzo bomb cause it sure did look like we gave Pez one. So far this is FAR from a one match card. Only the first 2 matches can considered duds. The others have been in the good to damn good category
  13. Retrosoft announced the mystery wrestler for their fall update, and it's Randy Savage? I wouldn't think that was possible unless his Legends deal is expiring and not being renewed.
  14. I think I remember Tony Khan saying that if for some crazy reason he couldn't run AEW for the night that Danielson would be his choice for a replacement but besides the other roles mentioned here I haven't heard anything else. I imagine Mox would probably be another choice along with Jericho. You'd think TK would want a vacation some day but I guess when you're a billionaire every day is a vacation. God bless the dude, AEW is one of the few bright spots these days
  15. Yesterday
  16. This is probably going to end up being false, but Fightful is saying they've been told that Hirooki Goto is playing E. Honda in the Street Fighter movie.
  17. IMO of course but if they didn't have some feel good stuff outside of the DR stuff then it would have been really bad for AEW. But you had Toni's exile and comeback, Mercedes finding her footing, Daniel Garcia getting his measure of revenge on Jungle Boy, even the Private Party title win was a feel good moment (that was pissed away after the fact) so the entire company wasn't doom and gloom. At this point, you've really built Mox up as someone we want to see get his ass kicked (and his ridiculous sells help this), can you push this out for the rest of the summer? I don't know about that. I don't know if your other options are better than Hangman right now. I still don't understand how WWE was able to hold off on Cody for an entire year and it somehow worked out (and they almost screwed that up because Rock wanted another match).
  18. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxDrAQwKYGQ The night before the Supercard. Atlantis/Atlantis Jr. vs SAP is a fun 5 minute opener. Adam Priest gets a win! Dark Order squash the Frat House's pledges in under a minute to set up Dark Order vs Frat House at Supercard. Deonna vs Rachael Ellering in Pure Rules was solid. Deonna will always be one of my top favorites so I'm always down for more of her matches. Dustin, Sammy, & The Von Erichs take out Premier Athletes & GYV in the main event. Amusing how Mark Sterling comes out talking down to Seattle where this taped while the commentary have to play it off like they are in Texas. Final card for Supercard as of now, until they add the Zero Hour matches later: ROH WORLDS HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Bandido(c) vs. Konosuke Takeshita ROH WOMENS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Athena(c) vs. Thunder Rosa ROH PURE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Lee Moriarty(c) vs. Blue Panther ROH TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Nick Wayne(c) vs. Titan ROH WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS MATCH The Sons of Texas (Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevara)(c) vs. The Infantry (Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean) -Crowning of the ROH Interim Women's Television Champion.
  19. I started NieR: Automata last night after only having played maybe two hours of it on the PS4 in 2019. Combat is slick as hell, story is weird but not Kojima weird so it's within my wheelhouse. My only complaint is it feels like it's running at 30-40 fps on my PC. I don't see any options in the settings for frames, just resolution. I didn't buy this 4060 laptop to play games that run at those frames, damnit! Overall this is gonna be fun, I think. I want to watch the anime but I might wait until I finish one playthrough of the game at least. I got it installed on my SteamDeck too so I can play it at work as well and make some extra progress. I've also been playing The Operator and Gamedec, and those are fun just because they're a change of pace. Gamedec is basically like Shadowrun or something but with very, very minimal combat and 200% more investigative work. Operator is hard to explain, but you're doing investigative work for a fictional version of the FBI/CIA through the UI of a workplace desktop computer. Finding clues in documents and footage and photographs. I like it. They were both free through Prime Gaming on Epic and GOG, so no money wasted really.
  20. I would say the same thing about the Death Riders going into All In as I did about The Bloodline going into WM39—just because it got good at the end doesn’t absolve it of being so bad before*. September through January of the Death Riders was deeply unpleasant and counterproductive TV, and it did not need to be that bad to get us to this point. *Of course, as it turned out, WM39 was not the end for The Bloodline, and it would in fact get even worse again after that. All the more reason for AEW not to make a similar mistake here.
  21. I'm still Team Darby for all of this, but wouldn't it be wild if Hangman loses, but Kingston returns in the gauntlet and wins, challenges Mox at All Out, and becomes champion? Darby versus Mox at WrestleDream to end the whole story. That seems like a very Mox thing to suggest. Ospreay & Swerve lose and are out of the main event scene for a year. Hangman needs to finally fix things with Swerve so they can both move past their issues and become the best versions of themselves. Hangman/Okada or Hangman/Omega feud for the Unified title, maybe? Ospreay & Swerve form a tag team. Darby is cemented as a main event player by beating Mox in a big program. Kingston is your World champion. Just sayin'.
  22. I hope that 8 man with the teams leads to FTR being added to the All In Tag Title match. Shibata-Kidd sounds like a helluva bout. Mistico-Beast and the Ladies All star 8 man could be fun. I'm game for more Paragon-Callis Family reps. KOR/Roddy and the RPG Vice are awesome teams. Fletcher doesn't seem to have anything less than spectacular matches. I love back to back nights.
  23. I wonder if them posting AJ content will lead to people thinking she might be coming back for something..
  24. Death Rider Moxley deserves more credit than he's given. All the hurt feelings were well worth the build for the hot babyface Cowboy to emerge. The hot babyfaces I should say - Swerve and Ospreay and the returning Darby Allin feel like a big part of all this. It took a lot of gumption to stick with this story while so many loud voices dramatically cried foul. I'm very, very pleased they did.
  25. Oh, man. I’ve said it before, but I’d love a big ol’ cibernetico taking up like half of a Dynamite. I’m hoping Dean 2 was Tony’s test run.
  26. I think you could just as easily say that the turnaround/momentum that AEW is experiencing now is partially because people feel like the end is in sight for the Death Riders angle. I'd argue that the turnaround is happening despite the Death Riders storyline still being at the top of the card. I think the turnaround has much more to do with: (a) The consistent work of Ospreay, Omega, Swerve, Hangman, Ricochet, Toni Storm, Mercedes, Brody King, and, to a lesser degree, the Callis Family, the Hurt Syndicate w/ MJF, Mark Briscoe, Willow, and Speedball. It really does feel like, when you tune into Dynamite, you're going to get to see most of these stars and that, in many cases, they'll be competing or doing something to progress a storyline. I only wish they had found something for FTR & Stokely to do on this show because, when they've been featured, they've been excellent. But, overall, I think that knowing what you're going to get when you tune in has helped tremendously compared to a few years back when they had the brand split or when certain guys - Omega, MJF, CM Punk - would disappear for awhile. And, yes, I do think they've essentially been bunting/sacrificing Collision to get there...but, I'd rather get 2 very good hours of TV every week on Wednesdays than 2 very good hours spread across 4 where you don't know what to watch. (b) A comparatively bad stretch for the WWE, both in terms of the on-screen consistency, very thin PLEs, and bad PR/"buzz". With the brand split, you're often already going to "miss" half of the star power each week if you only watch one show, so, if you're super into Jey Uso or Rhea Ripley, there's no reason to watch SmackDown. The PLEs, which used to be loaded with stars, are now built around maybe 3 attraction matches and 2 midcard matches. For example, at Night of Champions, you got CM Punk, Cena, Cody, and Orton...but no Roman, no Logan Paul, Rhea in a "lesser" match (I loved it, but a No DQ match against Raquel isn't a marquee match), no Jey Uso, no GUNTHER, no Drew. As for the "buzz," well, it left sometime after the disappointing Mania show. People did not like the finish to Cena/Cody. People are not interested in Seth Rollins being the leader of a faction with Heyman and the lack of on-screen chemistry is palpable. Some of the folks who got their big Mania moment - Jey Uso, IYO, Stratton, Dominik - haven't done anything interesting or exciting since (aside from Jey losing his title). So, so, so many of the storylines on both shows feel like they're in hamster-wheel mode.
  27. https://youtu.be/Pz2aKjXO9ds?si=9z70yTKx9MZ0Jit4 Right now this is melting my brain. Maybe in a bad way? It's very sick, I'll say that.
