  1. Past hour
  2. Heck, there's an argument to be made that this was tried with Sabrina Ionescu a couple of years ago, but it got pushed back on because of her very public mentorship by Kobe Bryant before he died. Then Caitlin Clark started to get big at Iowa and everyone primed for her.
  3. Kind of odd how the last few days on Twitter have been filled with people remembering how full of shit the SSM documentary was, and the baffling nature of the SSM2 documentary. (And then, yes, the sexual misconduct stuff)
  4. I just got the People News alert about it Complications from Cancer
  5. Last thing I had to do last night before I went to bed was start the dishwasher. Opened the cabinet under the sink to grab the detergent and it's full of dirty water. Apparently my garbage disposal shit the bed sometime in the last 24 hours and was just pouring water out the bottom. Guess I have my weekend project all set for me.
  6. There needs to be a "no punches pulled" take on Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan done by Adam McKay or Oliver Stone. The trailer gives me no desire to see this movie.
  7. If AEW is dead set on only using their TV to get from PPV to PPV with "higher guy vs lower guy" matches, then the best way to make it at least somewhat interesting is tag matches. Roddy & Trent vs Ospreay & OC was great because I knew OC or Trent would eat the pin at the hands of Strong or Ospreay, respectively, but at least I didn't go into the match knowing what team would win.
  8. Today
  9. Deadline is reporting that documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock has died at 53. Pretty much vanished several years ago after admitting to sexual misconduct but, at one point, if you asked the average Joe to name someone who directs documentaries, it would have been Morgan or Michael Moore.
  10. I'm constantly amazed at how the NHL employs some of the cringiest people on the entire planet. WTF is this.
  11. That should be a header at the top of this message board that greets all visitors.
  12. One of my favorite moments was already mentioned, that being the announcement of an exploding barbed wire death match on American PPV. The end was what it was but the feeling it gave me leading up to the show was rare these days. Also seeing Omega/Ospreay had me going nuts. Same with Omega/Vikingo. I was with a bunch of non fans when that happened and everyone was losing their minds. Plus, they put Nick Gage on national television. Teenage CZWFans me would never have believed that.
  13. They seem to be planting the seeds for that. I like that they gave Swerve Christian first in his reign. It's a good opponent to sort of ease him into things. You know you're going to get something good in the ring and out with Christian. And, they had the built-in reasoning with Swerve's attack on Nick Wayne from a while back. That said, I do want to see his next challenger be someone higher up the chain.
  14. Grr.. stupid fingers That being said - I would be more interested in this if it indeed was Randy instead of Dennis
  15. Oh it definitely feels like there are going to be some omissions from this movie... You can feel the Oscar desperation from every cell of Randy's performance.
  16. Randy's sure did a 360 and is looking more and more like Dennis.
  17. Just drafted my review of Satnam vs Danielson for Monday because there's a Collision match and a PPV and a long weekend so I have to get ahead of things. Here's the first paragraph draft. I'm up to my usual bs:
  18. Reagan Randy Quaid = Ronald Reagan Directed by Sean McNamara (Soul Surfer, Miracle Season) Apparently this was shot like 4 years ago
  19. I feel like an idiot, but I cannot figure out how to open up campaigns past the prologue. I'm level 16, gotten all the rewards for each part.
  20. I woke up early Thursday morning to view Dynamite in it's regular 630am slot, but got sidetracked by a sick cat and a power outage. The salty mood carried over into my initial viewing. I rewatched the show in the evening with a buzz and got far better results. Terribly fun go-home show. Ospreay/Orange v Trent/Roddy was fantastic. Both pairings looked like teams worthy of title runs. I think we all continue to love the mysterious Callis/Orange story. Wardy's clothesline from behind was 'un-b-lee-va-bull'. I would've welcomed the blade from that spot. Wardy v Ospreay sounds like fun. That was a great preview of what I expect will be 2 excellent PPV bouts. Bucks/Dutt promo was terrific. I love the heel camaraderie the Bucks are creating. And very much dug Sonjay's pencil break, Dutt might need some more ppl to talk for. Jay/Asses/Death Triangle segment set the table just fine. Jeers to the Hook v Shibata v Keith ft. Jericho segment. Jericho needs to reel this character in, and better distinguish it from the superior Jacksons act. Takeshita v Sydal was a fantastic showcase. Mox's post match mic attack was on point. Stoked for this PPV pairing. Swerve v Nick Wayne was terrific. Nice win for Swerve. Also, loved his 'what up turds?' line to the Bucks just prior. Swerve's finding his championship groove. Nana sipping coffee blocking dastardly Christian was on point and a great Dynamite moment. Loved this. O'Reilly v Malakai was a nice little mid-show Nug! Black's looking healthy and great again. Kyle's quietly having as good of a run as anybody lately. Copeland-Black in the Cage should be a helluva deal. Toni/Mariah v Harley/Saraya was an excellent TV bout. I love all 4. Saraya is such a fun heel. The post match Deeb attack makes everything right in this good/evil world. Thank you! Danielson v Satnam was as expected and did not disappoint. I was captivated. And the post match angle was on point. I love heel camaraderie and a literal heel pay off. A flamethrower is a bit much, a bit dumb, but a good visual for video packages (as @zakk_sabbath mentioned). Speaking of which, they continue to provide good video packages weekly - Willow/Mercedes set being the standout. Properly stoked for that bout and the entire PPV. Great go-home show. AEDub running wild!
  21. Sonjay doesn’t want to get fined for breaking monitors?
  22. Supposedly Vince didn't like Managers for the same reason he didn't like tag teams. Cost twice as much to put two people out on the road
  23. I'm totally okay with a hybrid Concert Movie/continuation of his mini-movies. but I would've loved if it was a straight up full movie of the whole "story" set to Ghost songs.
  24. I'm going to whisper this...She's not wrong. It is not a coincidence that the most popular women's basketball player isn't the best player, or even on the best team. She's the straight white woman in a league that is viewed as overwhelmingly black and lesbian. She's great, don't get me wrong, but there is a reason that she has reached a level of popularity that no other woman's basketball player has ever reached and a HUGE part of it is that she is a straight white woman. Honestly, I don't think it is a problem, but we've always acknowledged that the NBA would love to have a white American superstar. The WNBA has one, and she's going to be the face of the league from now until she retires.
