This will be the thread that I randomly dump info in as I am going over the list.

PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR BALLOTS HERE (I will have a different thread for that)

I will post the Q&D full results in the Master List thread once that is ready (and I finish updating the Master List)

This will be the first of two parts. This is the easier batch of movies to list since it is a simple metric to compare against. Whether or not they are actually good movies is a different story.

BEST PICTURE (OSCARS) NOMINEES THAT DIDN'T RECEIVE A VOTE

  • THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT
  • EXTREMELY LOUD & INCREDIBLY CLOSE
  • THE HELP
  • AMERICAN SNIPER

  • VICE
  • BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY
  • THE POST
  • LION
  • DARKEST HOUR

This is Part 2 of my "Movies I Am Surprised Didn't Get Any Votes" list

Again - I am not saying this are all great and SHOULD have gotten votes. Some of them have high critical acclaim and/or folks around here talk about them well. Others are more based on the way the voting went. I will kinda note my thoughts as I go along

And while I have checked the list a few times - it is possible that some of these movies did get votes

MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE

  • CAPTAIN MARVEL (cheating a touch here as it did receive a HM)
  • SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME
  • ANT-MAN

- It might have been easier just for me to write "Every Marvel movie but Iron Man 2 and Thor 2" but then I checked and both of them received votes

OTHER BIG DUMB MOVIES

  • JURASSIC WORLD
  • VENOM
  • THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN
  • DEADPOOL 2
  • SHAZAM!

"KIDS" MOVIES

  • MONSTERS UNIVERSITY
  • BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
  • THE SECRET WORLD OF ARRIETTY
  • SONG OF THE SEA
  • CARS 2
  • CARS 3

HORROR (AKA Blame it on Curt and JT)

  • UNDER THE SHADOW
  • THE BABYSITTER
  • OVERLORD
  • WE ARE STILL HERE
  • LIGHTS OUT
  • THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS
  • THE INVITATION
  • THE EYES OF MY MOTHER
  • THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT (I mean this board used to love Lars von Trier and this was his only movie of the decade to not get a vote)
  • GLASS (I thought since Mavs voted for Split, he would have voted for this too)

THE OTHER STUFF I DONT HAVE A CATEGORY FOR

  • A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD (I already joked y'all hate Mr. Rogers.)
  • SING STREET
  • ALL IS LOST
  • COMPLIANCE
  • BRIDESMAIDS

Would probably have voted for Compliance, and maaaybe We Are Still Here.

I saw The House That Jack Built, kind of liked it, but it just felt so obvious.  I wouldn't have voted for any other Von Trier movie either, though, so I'm probably not the guy to ask about it.

(stuck in this text box somehow)

I saw exactly one of those films (Overlord) and some of The Girl... on TV.

All will be revealed soon

I am almost certain I voted for COMPLIANCE.  It was definitley on my list, and I would’ve only removed it in error.

You did - I spelled it wrong on my doc hence why it didn't pop when I searched for it

I'm surprised by both Bridge of Spies and Selma not generating at least any back ballot votes. Hanks and Rylance are both excellent in Spies.

Marvel Cinematic Universe.

21 out of 23 MCU films were eligible to vote for.

12 placed while 9 failed to make the cut.

The ones that made the countdown in alphabetical order:

Avengers Assemble (2012), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Black Panther (2018), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014),  Captain America: Civil War (2016), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Iron Man 3 (2013), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Thor (2011) and Thor: Ragnarok (2017).

Eligible but missing out in alphabetical order:

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Ant-Man (2015), Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), Captain Marvel (2019), Doctor Strange (2016), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017),  Iron Man 2 (2010), Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) and Thor: The Dark World (2013).

I think I was the HM on 'Captain Marvel' which I'm surprised didn't get votes over some of the inferior Marvel stuff that made it. I voted for it almost entirely on that climax where

Spoiler

they show all the times she was excluded/mistreated and it gives her the strength to break out of the prison thing, I thought that was a pretty incredible little scene in an otherwise still pretty entertaining flick

'Bridesmaids' was on my list for quite a while until I tried to rewatch it and went "How is this 2 hours and 12 minutes?!" (I believe the answer is Judd Apatow being involved). Still, I'm pretty shocked it didn't get any votes.
