Oh yeah, that's another crew truism: If three or more of us get in a chopper, something bad is gonna happen.

 

 

 

I can verify this as a true statement, having completed a self-imposed ban from all things flying during missions after one such occurence where I promptly died early on in a mission, then took to piloting for the win with all members in the chopper before I crashed and failed it for everyone.

 

I am a little better now, aside from hacking crew to pieces with choppers while trying to either A) kill someone that is non-crew (like I did Melraz, numerous times on night)  or B) pick up a crew member for evac/re-positioning (Herby at near the airport the last time the night shift were all together)

 

 

I still remember the time there were three or four of us in an annihilator and somebody Allah Akbar'ed us right as we were trying to take off.  I was watching this Adder coming in on us fast and trying to war the pilot, when all of a sudden the whole world exploded.

Yeah, I remember that also.  I think it was me that was getting picked up at the park across from Dieder Sachs, although I very well could have been piloting that pile of horse shit. 

 

If I remember correctly, that guy got so many feet up his ass afterwards he got a Nike check trampstamp.

If you care about tints for the short range weapons, DMs are the place to get that, rather than freemode.  That's where I got most of the kills for those.  I've got the LSPD on the heavy sniper, advanced rifle, assault SMG, AP pistol, combat MG and assault SG.  I was also pedantic and bought the LSPD tints for the bullpup rifle and special carbine only after I'd registered 600 kills with both.  I unlocked the first tint for the RPG recently.  I've also got a bunch of tints for guns I don't even own, from doing forced weapon DMs.

 

I've got all those tints too, except for the Assault SMG, which is still black - I think I've only got single figures kills with it because it sucks so much. If there was a Deathmatch that was locked to it, I'd be all over that, but if you're going against anyone with a decent weapon it's terrible. Pistol damage with Shotgun range. I'm knocking on the door of 200 Micro SMG kills though. Mostly drivebys.

 

Got tints for the Assault and Carbine rifle despite not owning either. Never bothered buying the Bullpup or Special Carbine, because why bother when you've got an Advanced Rifle (which I had over 2000 player kills with last time I checked)?

I padded my race wins total this afternoon against a poor level 26 guy who just did not want to stop doing one on one races with me, even though I was beating him every single time.

 

He was the host, so I'm not sure if he wasn't inviting anyone else on purpose or he just didn't know how to, but I'll take it.

I have no idea what my K/D ratio is. Last I checked, it was 2.4, but that was months ago. And now I'm seeing you guys said it can be checked on social club, so....holy fuckdonkeys. My K/D Ratio is 4.5?

There is a difference between PvP k/d and the k/d that killing/dying by npc's are attributed towards. if that makes any sense.

Shucks, I'm blushing. It all comes down to that assault shotgun. My BIGGEST problem right now, and I've vowed to work on it, is that I spend way too much time trying to find someone with my sniper rifle, leaving myself open for a good sniping myself. I need to quickly look and back off if I'm not successful and wait for them to move. Plus I have another problem with the sniper, which I'll get to.

Nothing new there, except banning cheaters, and I really, really think R* would say "OK, motherfuckers, from here on out, that's your ass. You have been warned." I don't think they're gonna start handing out bans without some kind of warning. Maybe some kinda perma-bad sport lobby or some shit, but not banning. I think they'll do another money sweep in the wake of dead hookergate, then they'll tell us to be on our best behavior.

OK, seasoned Internet killers like AxB and Robert, how do you know which weapons to choose? Ever since I got started on the combat MG (thanks to Robert) I never use the advanced rifle anymore, ever. I use the combat MG, heavy sniper and assault shotgun almost exclusively.

 

One of my biggest combat problems is that I'll try to use a heavy sniper when the combat MG has the range. I shot someone the other day on the back end of the Los Santos Customs in the middle of town from the roof of the Didier Sachs building (the mall, as I call it). So the combat MG has an incredible range. I just gotta figure out what it is and when to use it.

 

Kinda surprised you use that little MG for drive-bys. I prefer the AP pistol.

I raced with you a couple of times before I had to go to work. It KILLS me when Level 30 dudes host races and put it on custom vehicles. I'm like "dood, I guess you wanna lose." It's possible he could have a fully tricked-out vehicle, but highly unlikely. The higher-level guys always win because they've got the most tricked-out rides. I never won, but I finished very respectably (second or third) in every race the dude hosted. The winners were always at 100-plus. 

 

The helicopter kill reminded me of my favorite kill ever in Freemode: Melraz and I go chasing dots at the airport. He's chasing someone and I come blazing in with a stolen cop car. I don't really know what's going on when I notice there's a plane trying to take off with three dudes in it. I run into it at full speed, blowing everybody up. That's the stuff right there.

 

My favorite "be killed" ever: RUkered and Melraz are in the back of a truck I'm driving. I say "wouldn't it be cool if we rolled up on some dude and started shooting?" So we find a dude, who proceeds to RPG us straight to hell. "Well, I guess we were askin' for that."

I use the Advanced Rifle as my go-to Gun at long range, because I really started fighting in Deathmatches, and it's silenced. Short Range, Assault Shotgun. I use the Micro SMG for drivebys because it's the default, the AP Pistol is already LSPD tint, and I never got around to dropping my other pistols so it takes too long to scroll through.

I was doing a gang war last night and used the advanced rifle, and it's got a pretty good range, too. The combat MG can spray some bullets, though. Needs more work.

 

Did a bunch of racing. The Los Santos Triangle is a really, really cool race. I played a user-created one (don't think it's R* verified) called Rooftop Rumble: The Race, that starts you out in town, takes you around the Rumble garage and ends at Madrazo's. Fantastic race. There are some bad user-created races (like one I played yesterday involving motorcycles and the wind farm that I had to quit it sucked so bad), but there are some really, really good ones.

That's strange, I was on from about midnight to 3am before giving up since I didn't see anyone else on, two hours of which I was watching wwe network and netflix.  Oh well, I haven't been in much of a mood for freemode anyway.  I'm afraid to go see if I'm on house arrest or something in-game.

My K/D has increased dramatically since acquiring the Heavy Sniper, before level 90, I was under a 1.0

 

and before picking the fight with satan the other night, my k/d was 1.32, if that tells you anything.

I got bored this afternoon and sashayed into a public room for a bit. A guy drove by me in a car, so I whirled around and shot him with my MG a few times as he drove by. I set up in cover in case he decided to come back and make a pass at me.

 

He did. One RPG round later and I blew him and his Zentorno up.

 

So he spawns to another side of me and I switch positions so I can face him if he tries anything. He waits and waits and waits until I start wondering if he's gonna make another run. Finally, here he comes. Fresh off getting his Zentorno blown up, he called in his Adder. One RPG round later and DOWN GOES FRAZIER! Goodbye, Adder. That was a little expensive.

 

Finally, he wisened up and made a run on me on foot. We were exchanging fire when the cops killed me. I then looked at the time - time to get ready for work - so I left. No revenge for you, pal.

This is my problem with rockstar k/d mine says 2. It's a 2.3 somethin if you do the math. But I've had 1 +1 beer which equals 2 that's the only math I can do at the moment.

Whoever came up with that Suicide Bomber idea is a motherfucking genius. My mate and I had a try, and he's been down in the dumps lately, but we had a right laugh with this little gimmick.

I haven't had a go at being the bomber yet. His dude has the mime face which I think is a lot more unsettling for the victims in their last moments.

Played for quite awhile last night. I went through two rounds of golf, playing horribly my first time (shot pretty close to what I would shoot in real life, which is like a +15) and then the next time I shot -3. That could have been -5 had two of my putts broken just slightly differently.

 

Did some races as well. Came in 2nd a couple times, but I kept missing out on first. It was always the race with the jumps, which is a ton of fun.

 

Then I had a huge breakthrough with multiplayer. I'm a little miffed my team lost, but I played very well and the final score was very close. I did a lot of sneaking around and used my pistol for most of the time. I got very good at aiming and then slightly nudging the thumbstick for a headshot. I had two kill streaks as well.

 

Assholes in free mode always seem to wait for me to steal a vehicle on Simeon's list and then they come along to fuck with me. I NEVER have anything other than the stupid pistol so I'm always dead meat.

 

Now I have the itch to kill again.

At your low level, i would stay away from Freemode unless you have Crew with you.

Much easier to learn your way and slowly level up in a solo session.

Yeah, if you wanna do some missions or whatnot to try to get that level up/earn some cash, just send me an invite when I'm on. If you've got the Freemode itch, I'll try to provide backup, but I'm nowhere near as good as some of the other guys in the crew.

 

Racing can pay a goodly amount of RP, provided you finish at the top or near it.

 

This was awesome,and something to keep in mind: I'm driving along, I think I was chasing my good friend Kill Target, when I notice a blip behind me.

 

I try to switch over to grenades so I can chuck them out the window, but I think I hit a car and then a phone pole. Dude blows me up. So I go chasing after his Adder with a stolen Granger (the vehicles the SWAT team hold on to). Probably won't catch him, but hey.

 

He makes it to his apartment and comes out as I'm waiting for him. He gets shot. Then he respawns and takes off again. He gets really near the clothing store glitch at the center of town, so I have to tread lightly. Turns out he's on the roof of the building. So I get under an underpass, and he's directly above me. I think he would've had a hard time dropping a grenade on me.

 

So we're at a stalemate. What to do? As soon as I think "I'll call mercenaries on him and have them take him down" and pull up the phone, I get the notice that he's called mercenaries on me. Sumbitch. So I think "OK, now what?" So I call an airstrike in on his ass. I take the flare and just drop it, right at my feet. I'm still under this underpass with him right above me. The airstrike takes his ass down first shot while I cackle like a madman. I then climb the building he was on, kill the Mercs, take their Jeep and chase him to his second apartment, when he leaves the game.

 

So if you've got an asshole on a roof and he's right on top of you, an airstrike might actually work.

And Stout, man I've been itching to call an airstrike on somebody for a week or so now.  I was especially wanting to get it on the specialist the other night, but by the time I got back over there, he had parachuted off the eclipse towers.

I'm betting the closer they are vertically to the flare you drop, the better the chance of success.

 

I now play a game where I steal a helicoper and go to that building I was tellin' y'all about where you have a real good sniping view of the midtown Los Santos Customs and no one can get to you without a helicopter. I then see how long it takes the room to bring me down. 40 actual minutes today, ended when someone got me with a helicoper after I couldn't figure out what was going on.

 

If someone's on a building, get a helicopter and get real, real high, man. Really high. Then fly directly above your victim and just drop down on him. If you're so high, he'll never see you coming and still won't be able to figure out what's going on because no one can look exactly straight up. They can look up and to a direction, but not straight up. You might trick them into thinking you're a dot below them when you're not. You're pretty much golden if you hide your blip.

 

Freemode lately for me has been like a lab, seeing what works and what doesn't. I gotta get better at shooting RPGs - too many people try to make runs at you while driving cars. The RPG usualy solves that problem, but it's tough sometimes hitting a moving target.
