pipGofern Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 In today's NFL climate, no way does anybody even consider bringing in Chris Rainey. Felix Jones actually did okay last year for the Steelers - I certainly think he could serve as a servicable stopgap. Whatever happened to issac "Redzone" Redman? He sucks but he's healthy and doesn't sucker punch women so he could be a name. And to wrap up this post celebrating Running Backs of Steelers Past, too bad Rashard Mendenhall was s-a-w-f-t SAAAFT! because in the current market, he'd be in high demand.
RIPPA Posted September 22, 2014 Author Posted September 22, 2014 Redman had to retire due to a spiral cord injury. Plus he had a concussion history
Vincey Greene Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I would love for the Panthers to make a deal for Stevan Ridley and move on from DeAngelo and Jonathan both this off season but I know this isn't a thing that will happen. What WILL happen is they'll sign a stopgap and both of them will play out their entire onerous contracts and still be huge against the cap, ensuring that Cam gets no additional help again, in 2015. GOOD STUFF.
Tabe Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Ben-Jarvis Green-Ellis, come on down? Call up Ickey Woods - give him some cold cuts and he's good to go! 1
evilwaldo Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 The Eagles have a surplus of RB's but we could use a couple of guys for the Oline.
Kuetsar Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 I'm sure the Bills would let them have Bryce brown for a 2015 1st rounder. . .LOL
APO Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Last night's victory was more costly than the loss against the Ravens. I'm actually not all that sure about that. Granted Carolina's offense was the drizzling shits last night but I thought the two guys who replaced Shazier and Jones (Moats and Sean Spencer) looked pretty good. Starting two young guys in our defense was never a good idea in my opinion because literally nobody figures it out until 3 years down the line. Now losing Ike is a big big problem because the secondary already sucked and now there's literally nobody back there who can cover worth a damn. On the plus side, the next two weeks they face teams with shitty quarterbacks who can't throw worth a damn. It's like the irresistible force vs the immoveable object. May not have heard, but the Jags have already cut bait on the "shitty QB who can't throw worth a damn." Bortles fucking the bitch-ass Steelers in the ear at Everbank would be pretty fun to watch.
JLSigman Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Both Jonathan Stewart and Mike Tolbert are getting MRIs With DeAngelo Williams already hurt - the Panthers have no healthy RBs at the moment *insert death wail here*
hammerva Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 The Steelers have signed James Harrison to a 1 year contract. So much for retirement and given the injury issues I guess it is better than nothing
Josh Mann Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Does he get a signing bonus or does it preemptively go straight to the league office?
Dewar Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Nice fucking pass Geno. Where's the damned rum????
Death From Above Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Bruce Arthur @bruce_arthur 1m The Jets know that football fans need laughter now more than ever
Josh Mann Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 It pains me to say this, but the Jets got hosed on that fumble not being a touchdown.
pipGofern Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I was utterly dumbfounded when I saw the Jets were favored in this game - but now I remember first rule in football betting: never put too much faith in Jay Cutler
Dewar Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Someone please put some stickup on David Nelson's damned gloves. Also, the NFL needs to change that rule about blowing the ball dead on turnovers. There's no reason that play should not count as a touchdown. 1
Death From Above Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 If the booth is going to review turnovers anyway there is no reason to blow the whistle if you're not sure.
Dewar Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Geno Smith needs to be throwing that stupid football to Hackensack. Flat out giving this game away with stupid plays.
pipGofern Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Can't believe they haven't turned to Vick yet...
Kevin Wilson Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Geno isn't having a good game but he isn't having a bad enough game to get benched. As much as I'd love to see some QB controversy in NJ he'd have to do worse than this.
Dewar Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Jets got lucky with that spot, I think. Of course, the Bears linebacker hit Amaro before he caught the ball, which they didn't bother calling either.
Dewar Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) Jets end up being one blown call by the refs away from winning tonight. Shitty deal. Also, their red zone offense continues to suck. Call a run play, Marty. Edited September 23, 2014 by Dewar
Death From Above Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Ivory is, to me, clearly their best player on offense and they don't seem that interested in him in the red zone. At least they weren't tonight.
evilwaldo Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Rex runs the Jets like his father ran the Eagles. No offense. All defense.
