username
I always wanted to give a true Terry Pratchett book a shot after reading Good Omens all those years ago and the local library appears to have this one, so I believe I should be in for this one. CSC
Awesome. Found an audiobook, which is going to be perfect for my 9 hour flight on Friday, because I'm pretty sure my eyes would start bleeding if I tried to read for that long.
Matt D
I'm #4 on the online waiting list. I might just drive to a library.

JRGoldman
Once people have had a chance to delve in a little bit, I'll do a detailed write up, but I picked this book in part because I think it might get a pretty mixed reaction. It was published posthumously, and Carroll was a notorious perfectionist and self editor. I think this book would have never seen the light of day had he not passed a few years ago. Certainly, the critical reception of this novel was mixed, and while I think it's better than it sometimes got credit for (and certainly more humorous), I wanted to pick something that was not only important to me and personal, but I wanted to avoid picking something I would put up as a "great work". Sometimes, I think things that strive to be great and fail have more interesting edges than things that strive to be great and succeed.
jaedmc
Pretty sure no one finished the last book, BUT SKOS and Matt D provided at least some interesting conversation about what they had read, so I'll feed them a point. I'll probably set up everything today as I'm about to go on another Internet Vacation - this time without pedigree gifs I hope. jaedmc
NOVEMBER'S BOOK IS TRUE NOTEBOOKS by MARK SALZMAN as selected by Suicide King of Spades.
S.K.o.S.
It's non-fiction, about the author's experience teaching a creative writing class in a juvenile offenders' prison. Gotta re-read it to refresh my memory for any more details than that.
Liam
As this one can be bought in the UK for cheap, I've purchased it. Will have to see how long it takes to arrive.
jaedmc
I think we're going to take a break for this month, and enjoy the holidays. Maybe use this month to catch up on something you missed. Unless you read everything. Bully for you.

username
I'd be down to do this again (assuming my library has it, as always). Last time around it got me started on reading the discworld books (three down since then) so I'd welcome a chance to be introduced to more swell possibilities.
