Rev Ray Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 I'm trying to remember from Angle of the Day, but I'm pretty sure Dutch was in the Stud Stable at one point in like continental or some place.
LooseCannon Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Very wrong. I will fantasy book stud stable vs. Rhodes family til I die. Best feud ever. You probably want to use sperm from Bunkhouse Buck and Dusty Rhodes to artificially inseminate the entire Divas locker room, willing or not, in order to continue the feud for another generation. 1
MonteCarl Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 With the Studd Stable/Rhodes feud now readily available via the Network, as somebody who only vaguely remembers it happening, what matches should I check out to revisit this epic clash?
Brian Fowler Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Austin vs. Rhodes, Starcade 93. Six man thunderdome cage match, Superbrawl 94. Buck vs. Rhodes Spring Stampede 94. Buck vs. Rhodes Slamboree 94. Buck and Funk vs. Rhodes and Anderson Bash at the Beach 94. War Games Fall Brawl 94. Anderson vs. Rhodes Halloween Havoc 94.
Niners Fan in CT Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 As far as PPV matches go, I believe it begins with Spring Stampede '94.. Dustin vs. Bunkhouse Buck in a Bunkhouse match. It's a tremendous match. The feud continues throughout the rest of the Summer into War Games then Dustin has a one on one with Arn. Edit: Fowler has it.
Brian Fowler Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 People never count the Austin stuff, which is weird to me. The whole reason Parker brought Buck in was to keep Rhodes away from Austin's U.S. title.
Niners Fan in CT Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 That's true.. if we include the Austin stuff then he should go back even further, maybe Halloween Havoc '93? I remember that being good.. Damn, the entire Dustin run is great. Why don't you just start with 1991 in general?
Brian Fowler Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 It also actually continues in 95 when Parker brought in Blacktop Bully.
goodhelmet Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Fuck that, you bring back papa swagger, you damn well better get him in the ring with Goldust. This would be a legitimate jumping up and down with joy mark-out moment for me. 1
goodhelmet Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 This si how I see Wrestlemania working out... bold predictions before tomorrow night's RAW... Pre-Show Match - Sheamus, Kofi Kingston & Dolph Ziggler vs. Christian, Alberto Del Rio & Bad News Barrett Big E vs. Cesaro (I think Cesaro beats Ambrose due to some screwy Shield mishap on a SD! to get the US TItle) - Big E unifies belts when Swagger cost Cesaro the match Rusev vs. Mark Henry (or Big Show depending on who is hurt) Rowan & Harper vs. New Age Outlaws vs. Goldust & Cody vs. Usos - Usos get their big win Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose (w/ Seth Rollins as guest referee) - Reigns loses because of Rollins Bray Wyatt vs. John Cena - Cena pins Wyatt after both Wyatts interfere Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar - Taker's streak continues Daniel Bryan vs. HHH (No title shot for DB) - The Game pins DB but DB gets the pop back post-match AJ vs. Funkadactyl - AJ Loses Batista vs. Orton vs. CM Punk (if he does return) - Batista wins WM anyway
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 No way do Orton and Batista and whoever close the show, unless Bryan is in. Even then I think it's Taker. 1
goodhelmet Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I think you are right if Punk isn't in. If Punk is in, they close out with the World Title.
Big Fresh Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Even as a Punk superfan, sticking him in that match would be random and bizarre.
Niners Fan in CT Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I'll give it a go. Matches in no particular order. Countdown Show - I say they do a battle royal to get the rest of the guys on the show. Lets give the win to Rusev. Make him look strong for the new year. Sheamus vs. Christian - I could see this on the countdown show as well. I think maybe they do an extended countdown show because it's The Network so maybe they fit two matches in. U.S. Title Match - SHIELD EXPLODES. Ambrose vs. Reigns vs. Rollins. I.C. Title Match - Big E vs. Mark Henry. WWE Tag Team Titles - I do see the Usos winning the titles, probably will be a multi team match. John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt - They keep Wyatt going strong, Cena takes a couple weeks off and beats him at Extreme Rules. Cesaro vs. Jack Swagger - Probably under five minutes. Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H - If Bryan can beat Triple H he is inserted into the main event. Divas Title - AJ Lee vs. Tamina Snuka WWE Title - Orton vs. Bryan vs. Batista - Batista wins and Triple H makes him "the face of the WWE"
goodhelmet Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Even as a Punk superfan, sticking him in that match would be random and bizarre. If they go the shooty / pipe bomb way, it would make sense since it gives Punk a reason to come back. If they go the Authority kayfabe / "Kane kept me from headlining" route, they do the Kane vs. Punk match to get Punk in the title shot at Mania. Both ways could be done. 1
Johnny Sorrow Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I think no matter what, a lot of fans will be booing Punk in the title match if it happens no matter how many "pipe bombs" he does. If they choose to do a three way than it should be Bryan.
Zakk_Sabbath Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Me personally, I'd have Bryan in the Batista/Orton match, and then run Bryan/Punk all summer long.
Matt D Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I think no matter what, a lot of fans will be booing Punk in the title match if it happens no matter how many "pipe bombs" he does. If they choose to do a three way than it should be Bryan. If they put Punk into the three way, you and I are having a bet on the reaction he gets. 3
Hollywood Cibernetico Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Putting Punk in the mainevent couldn't possibly be good for backstage morale? The guy cries his way into a Mania mainevent after taking a nearly 2 month self-imposed vacation? I can understand if Punk was getting the shaft since coming back but WWE gave him his own bus, Cult Of Personality as his theme music, and a year long title reign. Programs with the top stars of WWE and constant maineventing of PPVs just wasn't enough. I am sure in Punk's mind he feels Yoshi Tatsu is getting better treatment than him and that there is some office conspiracy that will put Cameron in the main event of WrestleMania way before Punk. If Punk does come back I would like him to be in a match that has no direct title involvement that night. Hell, I can see Kane/HHH vs. Bryan/Punk as the 3rd to last match on the card.
The Z Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 What if they have the Triple Threat match with Punk somewhere in the middle of the show and Orton lays down and lets Punk pin him. Then Hulk Hogan, the host of Wrestlemania comes out and tells Punk he can keep the belt and go home, but Jeff Jarrett and Booker T will fight for the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of the show.
