I've thought this for a long ass time, but Jalen Hurts is an awesome football player, who is somehow also an awful football player. He's someone who you can see all his flaws all the time, but somehow some way he gets it done more often than not. He's been like this since he carried Alabama to a National Champion as a freshman.
Raziel Posted September 22 Posted September 22 I'm beginning to think the problem with this team is Nick Sirianni. 1
supremebve Posted September 22 Posted September 22 This is a message to the Cleveland Browns coaching staff: Cover Malik Nabors, there is no one else who can hurt you. Just cover him. Thank you.

I still can't believe he didn't get fired after last season. I know that winning games is the most important thing for a coach, but it isn't the only important thing. He seems to be missing all the important things except for getting to the Super Bowl.
Kevin Wilson Posted September 22 Posted September 22 As a depressed person with Jalen Hurts on his fantasy football team, what the fuck Eagles. What in the fuck.

He's legitimately terrible in every way, and that is before we talk about him being a piece of shit pervert. I also hate that they try to get cute on defense when they can just line up and play football. Both Nabors touchdowns could have been covered better man-to-man with safety help. If one of those other crappy receivers beats you, I can live with that, but when their one good player is open because you want to try to disguise your coverage, maybe you are outthinking yourself.
hammerva Posted September 22 Posted September 22 (edited) Speaking of "Oh brother this guy stinks", I am starting to feel sorry for Falcons fans having to deal with the shit of Arthur Smith after watching this Steelers offense The fact that Justin Hebert played as long as he did was pretty admirable. Now you wonder if it wasn't a long term damage to do this Edited September 22 by hammerva
Kevin Wilson Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Eagles/Saints is the only good game on right now, its fascinatingly weird.

Kevin Wilson Posted September 22 Posted September 22 DeVonta Smith leveled in the Eagles game, commentators oddly nonchalant about it, five minutes of commercials followed. But he walked off the field at least.
RIPPA Posted September 22 Author Posted September 22 Giants have 7 sacks in 3 quarters That seems like a lot
RIPPA Posted September 22 Author Posted September 22 It is kinda embarrassing that this sounds like a Philly home game

"it wasn't in the head" Who cares, the problem is they allow the first tackler(s) to hold a guy up and someone else to come in and blast like a Tag Team Finisher. Once a guy's forward progress is stopped and he's being driven back, people joining the tackle should only be allowed to help wrap up (or rip at the ball). Charging into the scrum and trying to blast it forward/backward is what gets people hurt. (Really they should curtail scrumming up in general but at the very least cut down on people blasting the pile). 2
hammerva Posted September 22 Posted September 22 (edited) The Steelers have 2 touchdowns in one game. HOLY SHIT Listen I will take an ugly as hell 3-0 record any year especially given the end of the schedule for us but god it is so painful at times. Edited September 22 by hammerva

I agree with you, the issue is more and more offenses are doing scrums so then defenses fly in to push from their side and players are just flying everywhere. It would be hard to enforce for defenders to be told how to enter the scrum while offensive players are jumping in to push forward at the same time. In this case I thought it was particularly late and possibly too late but the refs are slow to blow the whistle these days with the NFL seeming to encourage the scrum pushes.
RIPPA Posted September 22 Author Posted September 22 Giants are gonna lose another game that they should win and I will be enraged

You're definitely preaching to converted on both points here. Pushing runners forward being removed from the "assisting the runner" penalty was a mistake and the refs need to have quicker Forward Progress whistles to prevent scrum-ups in the first place.
jaedmc Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Bears finally score a touchdown, which means I'll continue putting these needles into my goddamn eyeballs. 1
