Pete Posted June 9, 2024 Posted June 9, 2024 So the Nassau stadium is sold out for India vs Pakistan and CitiField is expecting 30,000 for a free watch party. If I see any South Asians on the street before 3 pm or so l'll assume it's because they hate cricket.

SirFozzie Posted June 9, 2024 Author Posted June 9, 2024 I want a time machine. Go back to when the USA was granted co-hosting rights for the T20 World Cup. Â Tell people "After two matches, USA will have 4x the points of England", watch heads explode. Then follow up with "They have infinite% points more compared to Pakistan" and you'd be hauled off to the cricket funny farm.
Pete Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Bangladesh were basically three inches away from a massive win over SA in the final over. Proteas successfully defend the lowest chase score in T20 World Cup history (113).
SirFozzie Posted June 13, 2024 Author Posted June 13, 2024 Bona fide, first, second AND third class tushie whompin.
Pete Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 Meanwhile, in Group A the weather is officially a factor. State of emergency has been declared in South Florida due to torrential rain, and the final three Group A matches (USA/IRE, CAN/IND, IRE/PAK) may not even be playable. If that happens, the USA will qualify for the Super 8 with their no-result point and Ireland/Pakistan are out.
odessasteps Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 I heard them trying to explain on 5 live how England can still qualify ahead of Australia and it involves something called Run ratio or similar I'd never heard of before.Â
odessasteps Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 Yeah, Ellie and Chappers were discussing it and I just zoned right out.
SirFozzie Posted June 14, 2024 Author Posted June 14, 2024 (edited) USA qualified for the super 8s with the match with Ireland being rained out Edited June 14, 2024 by SirFozzie

SirFozzie Posted June 14, 2024 Author Posted June 14, 2024 one hidden bit of extra good news from the BBC article on the washout: Â The Super 8s start on Wednesday 19 June with USA, who have now also qualified for the 2026 T20 World Cup by virtue of reaching the last eight here, facing South Africa in Antigua.

SirFozzie Posted June 15, 2024 Author Posted June 15, 2024 Isle of man v Spain lasted two official deliveries. ( One side 10 all out, other team, no ball, 6, 6 1
SirFozzie Posted June 15, 2024 Author Posted June 15, 2024 South Africa loves to play dangerously.. first the previous game, now defending SEVEN in the last over to win by 1 run
SirFozzie Posted June 16, 2024 Author Posted June 16, 2024 Australia beat Scotland with two balls to spare, putting England through to the Super 8's. Â Group 1: India Australia Afghanistan (TBD- Probably Bangladesh) Â Group 2: England USA West Indies South Africa
