matt925 Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 (edited) This will be my third year in a row watching live. On the west coast I have to pull an all nighter tonight, but 9pm-2am for night two is super sweet. Edited January 4, 2020 by matt925 1
John E. Dynamite Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 Yeah man, the nap-ening is not happening and I'm worried for myself 1
Jiji Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 I didn't do any work today from home thinking I had the weekend and forgot all about not being able to watch this shit live. I'm hooped.
hammerva Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 (edited) To say that their Twitter game is strong is an understatement Edited January 4, 2020 by hammerva 2
hammerva Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 Okay this is probably a dumb question but is El Phantasmo Chase Owens under a new gimmick?

Niners Fan in CT Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 These two nights are fucking stacked. I'm ready.
Brian Fowler Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 I work nights, so I'm actually a little disappointed night 2 starts so early. I won't get out of work until about 1 am est

I can't believe this is my 15th year of being hype for this show. You know how hard it was to find a stream back in the day? 1
Jiji Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 I remember being on the SSS mIRC (!!! mIRC!!!) chat waiting on live reports of results. Hahahaha. 1
S.K.o.S. Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 It turns out that Will Ospreay and Hiromu Takahashi are pretty good at wrestling. 9 1
Jiji Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 That lived up to the hype and then some. A little bit of silliness at the end where Will stuck his head up for that new bonkers finish but I'm... just fine with that in the bigger picture. 1
Brian Fowler Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 That might've been the best Junior heavy match ever. 3
The Natural Posted January 4, 2020 Author Posted January 4, 2020 Great match between Will Ospreay and Hiromu Takahashi. Tetsuya Naito vs. Jay White went too long, needed trimming. Right guy won in Naito. Now it's time for Kazuchika Okada vs. Kota Ibushi.
Jiji Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 What a great match and then Red Shoes tries to fuck it. I'd probably go 5er for jr. and 4.75 on that one. I can see the argument for both getting 5 tho. Just awesome, consistent storytelling through character work by two of the best at that. 1

I'm seeing both these opinions echoed on my Twitter timeline. Watching a 20-30 minute Jay White control segment live at 5:45 am, I'd lean towards "too long" personally, but I didn't hate it or anything. 1
The Natural Posted January 4, 2020 Author Posted January 4, 2020 Kazuchika Okada in trunks for the first time rather than usual short tights, his classic look. Okada debuted his long pants at Wrestle Kingdom 12.
Jiji Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 (edited) So far this feels an awful lot like Naito/Okada from 2018: slow and a little awkward. Kota damn near paralyzed himself with that back flip kick. Also, it would seem for most that the emotional crescendo was Naito's victory. They love Naito. They empathize with Ibushi and respect Okada. Edited January 4, 2020 by Oyaji 2
The Natural Posted January 4, 2020 Author Posted January 4, 2020 Nasty German from the outside apron back into the ring by Ibushi.
The Natural Posted January 4, 2020 Author Posted January 4, 2020 Kazuchika Okada vs. Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Championships tomorrow!
