2023 HORROR THREAD

One thing I like conceptually about those movies is that they’re supposed to be anthropomorphic animal mutants and not just psychos in costumes. When they do the shared universe movie I think they should fight Psycho Goreman.

The Nun 2 has a RT fresh rating of 45% but an Audience Score of 76%.  I think we have a winner.  I think I'll check it out after work on Wednesday when the CineCafe has five dollar tickets.

So apparently The Strangers is getting rebooting as a trilogy directed by Renny Harlin

What is not said in that tease is that apparently all three movies will come out next year

I like that Fear Street trilogy format where it’s secretly just a miniseries, so if it’s going straight to a streaming service I’m in. It looks like Madeline Petsch is the lead, and she’s already genre royalty in my book just for her performance in Riverdale alone.

There’s actually a (slightly) more serious version of that premise in a No Sleep story calledVermin. It’s never been easier for amateurish productions to make something that looks fairly polished, so it’s impressive how shitty that looks.

The Fall of the House of Usher

It is a series that is based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe (obviously the series title is a Poe work and you will hear The Raven quoted in the trailer)

Carla Gugino and Bruce Greenwood are the two mains

BTW - Gugino says the series is "batshit crazy"

The second series to come out Mike Flanagan's Netflix deal.  If it is as tremendous as Hill House, it should be really good.

Mike will helm the first four episodes and his homie, Michael Fimognari (one of Mike's collabs and his go to screenplay writer), will direct the final four episodes.

Totally Killer

Trailer is Red Band for some stabbings and language

It's from Blumhouse

It's also directed by Nahnatchka Khan, creator of Fresh off the Boat and Young Rock and the older sister of Nick Khan, the co-CEO of the WWE.

I am a bit surprised that this was released by Blumhouse instead of WWE Studios.
