  1. Past hour
  2. Putski got to be on cable TV wrestling in the U.S. in the late '90s, so I don't feel bad for him. He did as well for himself as he could. I haven't gotten to the best-of-237 series with Karagias yet, so a) it had better be mostly run on Worldwide, SN, et al., or b) I am really, really, really going to hate my run through '99 Nitro and Thunder.
  3. Lolllllll imagine thinking you're coming in for a run with Hogan etc. and being sentenced to a best-of-237 series with Evan Karagias. It's so comically shitty, that I could totally buy it being the case
  4. GUNTHER is taking the KOTR, right? Who else is in his way?
  5. TK Pawn-Star-ish-ly: Hmm, best I can do is Dynamite in Youngstown Ohio.
  6. He should've been on the Territories episode of World Class.
  7. I have a deep dislike for Bobby Roode and Beer Money, and I'm not a big AMW fan either. The guy just isn't for me. Honestly, the only thing I remember remotely fondly about mid-to-late-aughts TNA is the women's division.
  8. Straight out of the ending to the original rocky Gunther: Ain't gonna be no rematch. Shaemus: Don't want one.
  9. Reports are that A24 have decided to shelve the Friday the 13th prequel series, Crystal Lake, which was being done for Peacock
  10. Maybe Putski the Younger came in dressed like a vampire pirate from a cancelled Anne Rice novel and Bischoff just couldn't resist. Or more likely Kevin Sullivan couldn't resist because vampire pirate Putski the Younger would have been perfect for the Dungeon of Doom even if it was dead by the time young Putski made it into the company.
  11. Today
  12. Making my way through these, and Iceman King Parsons is a treasure. Someone just have this guy tell stories while sitting in a chair with this level of production value.
  13. I'll never miss an opportunity to post it: Also, Jamal Murray is probably going to get a fine and may get suspended for Game 3 for throwing a heating pad on to the court during play... twice.
  14. The only argument for "guaranteed money is killing the business" that I'd accept is from a promotion standpoint. Like if guaranteed TV money causes a promotion to become creatively stagnant because there's no motivation to draw ratings or houses anymore. During the initial Rock/Cody kerfluffle, Meltzer made the point that WWE could main event Mania with any damn thing they wanted, fans be damned, because their money was guaranteed either way. But yeah, "the boys would work harder, try different things to get over, etc. if they were paid on the house" is fucking stupid in 2024. Shit, it was stupid back in the day because it relied on the honesty of promoters and their underlings, along with gut feelings and convoluted carny math -- things like "well, Hulk drew the house, but I somehow know exactly how much to pay Tonga Kid for the third match."
  15. Redfall is one of the most puzzling disasters in the history of the industry. Like, nothing about the game is good. Nothing. I'm honestly not sure how Microsoft justifies even allowing it to release in the state it was in.
  16. Arkane Austin was the studio behind Redfall so that explains that Tango Gameworks did Hi-Fi Rush and Evil Within Microsoft will cease all future development on Redfall but insists the servers will remain online. They will also offer a "make good" to the folks who bought DLC that they never received
  17. Some people hate fun. And if you want to see confused, during his match, AJ Styles looks like he's looking at a globe for the first time ever the entire time.
  18. The attacking hasn't been inspired in many years, but this team is just really rough to watch defensively. It's unacceptable, and I'm not sure how they get back to prominence.
  19. Correction: That match actually felt like a tribute band version of Midnights/Fantastics from the first Clash of Champions. It was not nearly as good as that match, but that’s possibly a Top 10 US Tag match and Top 10 opening match. No shame in not being at that level because it was still a really great hate-filled brawl but with a lot of ECW plunder. Also: Are people really hating on that crowd? Man, that was so much fun to watch. The first PPV after WrestleMania is usually something really forgettable. This was really memorable because of the atmosphere. I bet the performers had an absolute blast in front of that crowd. You could tell Randy was just shocked at the massive theme song singalong.
  20. Good timing on the last couple pages: who at WCW watched that Putski tag and was like "Damn, we gotta lock Scotty in?"
  21. To me this was a one-match show with Sheamus/Gunther even if the stuff beforehand was good. But man that one match brought the goods so I was quite happy with that. Though I will say I don't know if it was a TV sound issue for me but the crowd sounded really dead for most of the show, especially during Punk's and Becky's promos. Was kind of hard to get into most of the show though they did wake up a bit for Ricochet/Druganov and the main.
  22. I admit a soft spot for these dumb movies. I'd watch it.
  23. Hades 2 is in Early Access, and getting rave reviews
  24. Actually, they only said they would announce it this fiscal year, which to me implies that it probably won't be out until the second half of 2025 at least.
