  1. Past hour
  2. Sorry to hear that. Hearing this did get me thinking that there must have more than a couple people going through exactly that during my high school years. I totally blanked out on the fact, but I remember now that one kid a couple of years younger than me actually shot himself, so it's obvious that a lot of issues went undiagnosed at the time, and our school wasn't exactly a big one, either.
  3. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vPxxgy6cAWw&pp=ygUTZGFzaGluZyBjb2R5IHJob2Rlcw%3D%3D Before The American Nightmare, the American Psycho.
  4. Went to the doctors today, wasn't sure about going. Turns out I've a chest infection, first in a year. Fuck.
  5. I've been on various antidepressants for depression. Annoyingly I had to stop taking two which did work, one affected my heart while the other one gave me serotonin syndrome, that particularly sucked. There was a reluctance to take antidepressants with the stiff upper lip mentality, not realising it wouldn't be a magic pill to fix everything and weight gain. The weight gain sucks. Trazodone seems to be the one for me.
  6. Today
  7. This has been the thing for a few weeks now and I think it's time to end the experiment.
  8. PAC’s Geordie accent isn’t even that strong. Cheryl off Girls Aloud’s is much stronger. At one point she was in an advertisement for hair dye, and had to say a nightmare phrase for geordies: No Ammonia. When she said it, it sounded like “Nyer Amuernya”.
  9. Holy crap! The weight is down to 183 lbs so I guess it wasn't an anomaly! I guess I should eat something?
  10. Wonder who Bryan Danielson gets on AEW Collison, his first match back after his epic vs. Will Ospreay at AEW Dynasty.
  11. If you were curious, The last episode of World Championship Wrestling pre-Black Saturday: For all the “GCW didn’t have as much talent in 1984” talk, they had a few guys that would have blown down the doors in the 1984 WWF. It’s possible the biggest failure by the WWF wasn’t in the TV ratings of their TBS show but in their inability to get more GCW guys to jump to the WWF in 1984.
  12. Great bloody main event and chaotic closing segment. Weird promo setup for Serena to give that emotional promo with her back mostly to the audience but enjoyed the actual material. Good stuff in the Swerve/Christian promo battle. Saw the Mogul Embassy turn coming of course, but for a moment was intrigued by them having a try at a face run. Jericho promo ruled, popped for his shoutout to his match having the highest Cagematch rating on last week's Dynamite.
  13. And then apparently sometime since then, sadly shit hit the fan somewhere; The Tonga Twins are pissed about something and have quit WOW.
  14. Great trios opener with the best pure babyface trios and best pure heel trios. I was surprised to see the faces win but always nice to see Stephy win one and the Mighty Mights have been impressive. Sad for Lil J though to be taking the falls and potentially getting kicked out of the Brat Pack as she became my fav of the group, but she would probably excel as a face as well. Exile vs Ice Cold was a weird setup and fun with Genesis' antics. I was hoping Genesis getting the match stopped was going to lead to them reuniting as a unit but instead more in fighting. Reminds me of the same thing they did with IQ Superior that led to GI Jane getting kicked out. Gloria looked good in pretty much squashing Pep. Coach putting the bucket on her head was amusing. Solid basically handicap main event win for Tiki and the Tongas.
  15. Guessing that the WWF didn’t talk about David Sammartino’s interest in art and antiques like David Crockett did
  16. Looking forward to this show in the same venue where the first was held five years earlier. Most looking forward to Anarchy in the Arena, Timeless Toni Storm vs. Serena Deeb and Willow Nightingale vs. Mercedes Mone.
  17. Work fucking sucked. Anyway, Big Black was/are real real real fucking important to me. I read about them in Chuck Eddy's Stairway to Hell book when I was a kid and decided to give them a try. All their CDs were over at Plaza Records in Carbondale, about a half hour drive away, so I went and got The Rich Man's Eight Track Tape. Didn't quite know what I was listening to... the only thing I could really compare it to at the time was maybe Marilyn Manson? I didn't listen to NIN or Ministry, and didn't know jack about punk aside from Black Flag, Minor Threat and the Misfits. I was listening to death metal and grindcore already but THIS was something totally different. Guitar and bass like a Sawzall taking it to a piece of sheet metal. Drum machine kicking and swinging like a brutal robotic army. Distainful vocals mixed way back spitting out loathing and hostility. And the lyrics were so fucked up. I think Eddy referred to them as "the art-punk version of the Weekly World News" and the song topics really were like that: hitmen, child abuse cult, guy kills a chick with his boot at a fish fry, dog trained to bite black people, and besides that just totally nihilistic ennui that I completely related to in high school (and unfortunately long after). I was "frequenting bad houses". Me and the juvenile delinquents I hung out with were playing with kerosene: huffing air duster, watching people OD, crashing cars, an 18 year old friend of mine even strangled a girl and went to jail for life. I related to this music that nobody else around me would possibly fathom listening to. It was amazing that it even existed. And I mean, Albini himself deserves a statue somewhere. He poked everyone he didn't like right in the eye, and they always deserved it. After he got old and grew up he admitted that the edgelord shit was a pity, and I don't think he ever meant any harm but just didn't have the filter that came with age and experience. He was an awesome engineer who hated the music business and gave them the finger all the time, 100%. And Shellac was fucking great, too. There's a new album coming out this month from them and they were even gonna tour. Fuck. I wrote this elsewhere: "61. Well, he made the most of it." Tomorrow I'm going to a guitar store and buying an Electro-Harmonix Big Muff guitar pedal, and I am gonna break that fucker in good in his honor. RIP
  18. I was prepared to be underwhelmed by the Anarchy in the Arena mystery partners, but I think Eddie and Bryan are great choices. Eddie had some heat with them early on and of course lost his belt to Okada, and Danielson has a significant history with bad wrestling bosses. I'm glad they acknowledged Christian working with the Bucks to explain how he jumped the line and that Swerve's shots at the Elite aren't going unnoticed. The Trent/Orange stuff took some weird turns, but in a good way that keeps me interested in the story. I'm not sure there's ever going to be any direction for the trios division, but Jay White looks like a boss carrying around those three belts.
  19. It was a good show tonight. Saw The Mogul Embassy turning on Swerve coming a mile away. Also, the Anarchy in the Arena match should be good. A little random with FTR teaming with Eddie and Bryan, but it should be a fun brawl. Copeland vs. Brody was a fun bloody match. I was surprised to see Adam take a spike piledriver during the match, but he's been going all out in these matches anyway. So yeah a good show tonight.
  20. Chris Jericho is fucking brilliant. I don’t think you can ever count him out. I was howling during his promo.
  21. The Hand on earth 6160 are known as H.A.N.D. Agents. They are like Agent Smith from the Matrix and his duplicates but digitized grey faces. The Ultimates are Terrorists/Freedom Fighters. The Jim Hammond Human Torch joins them. Few more are expected to join the Ultimates in the future. From the flash foward, the USA is confirmed not to exist as a country, but we already knew that from looking at the maps.
  22. Movies today....not as many as usual. Had a lot going on at work. Showgirls (Criterion Channel, leaving at the end of the month) The Amazing Spider-Man (oh boy)
  23. I also been doing cognitive behavioral therapy on myself and positive thought rumination over the years.. I'm better off than my 00's self.
