RIPPA
Keith Yandle will be a healthy scratch for tonight's game ending his Ironman streak at 989 games Phil Kessel will then have the longest streak at 968 games Quote Flyers interim coach Mike Yeo said it was an "organizational decision" to keep Yandle out of the lineup on Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Flyers are 21-35-11 on the season, 31 points out of a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. "When you make a decision like this, it's an organizational decision. It's made in the best interest in what's right for the Philadelphia Flyers, going forward," said Yeo.

Tabe
More fun stats for the Red Wings: The Wings, at 71.89%, are on pace to have the worst PK% in the NHL since the 85/86 Wings (71.83%). That team finished last overall and gave up 415 goals. The current team has given up 4.71 goals per game over the last 28 - a 387-goal pace. Since 2000, goalies making their NHL debuts are 6-0-0 against the Wings. That's... hard to fathom.

I have a question: Who in the Wings organization does Jeff Blashill have compromising pictures of that allows him to keep his job?
Tabe
I'm not real sure why he was brought back this year but he's mostly been kept around to man the controls while they improve the roster in order to get a better coach. Blashill absolutely won't be back next year.

That's the all-time record. After Sunday's game, it's now 26 against. Edited April 4, 2022 by Tabe
Dolfan in NYC
Huberdeau is the first Panther to ever hit 100 pts in a season. The Leafs blow a 5-1 lead. 102 points on the season and still a dozen or so to go.
Tabe
Boston is 38-2 against teams not in the playoffs this year. The 2 are Detroit including tonight's 5-3 loss. Detroit looked sort of better but it was mostly a mirage as they got great goaltending to offset 50 shots against.

They are tied with the New York Jets for 3rd longest current streak in the big four sports. Relevant to the above statement, at the end of the game, they mentioned it was Jeff Blashill's 200th win as an NHL coach. He's in his SEVENTH season. Ken followed up that factoid with a comment along the lines of "that's a little longer than most" in reference to how long it took Blashill to get to 200. Something like that. Ken also called the Jets the "Blues" multiple times and referred to the Wings' goalie as Alex Nedeljkovic multiple times even though it was Thomas Greiss actually playing.

To give a clue at how horrible NHL officiating is, Malkin got 4 minutes for that crosscheck - for INTERFERENCE. Referee saw that, saw guy busted open (and knocked out of the game), and gave Malkin a penalty for INTERFERENCE. Because it's not an in-person hearing, Malkin won't get more than 5 games.
