July 24, 20242 yr Author Tony Khan: “I would say three great matches to watch in this company that I think are must-watch matches, there are so many great ones… I think the Bryan Danielson-MJF Iron Man match at Revolution (2023) would be among the very, very top. I also think that the Young Bucks vs. Kenny Omega & Hangman Page at Revolution 2020 would be among the top. There are so many great, bloody brawls, Lights Out matches… I think Dr. Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa is certainly a fantastic one from the St. Patrick’s Day Slam 2021. But honestly, it’s so hard to pick three.” Khan went on to give honorable mention status to two more bouts: “I think Sting’s retirement match would probably be my greatest moment, greatest show that I think we’ve had here, personally, so that would have to be near the top. You know, MJF and Will Ospreay maybe just had the best television match I’ve ever seen last week.” --- Interesting picks. Edited July 24, 20242 yr by The Natural
July 24, 20242 yr I'm so overwhelmed with the match quality of AEW, I've resisted even trying to make a new list as of late. But I really want to, the sheer quantity of incredible matches is astounding.

July 24, 20242 yr In another thread, I pined a bit for the days of the jobber squash, but really I love how much amazing free wrestling we get these days. I was just trying to explain to my son how, when I was his age, I never got to see the top stars face off on tv. Maybe occasionally on SNME or a Clash, but that was it. It can be overwhelming to keep up with, but it's a great problem to have.
July 24, 20242 yr Sometimes I wish more more of a middle ground between the long epics and the squashes. More 6-8 minute competitive matches (or 10-12 minute matches if you need to go through a PIP)

Kinda like i said in the All In thread, the idea that a national promotion is running honest to God death matches on tv and ppv is insane. Obviously it's not on Natural's list (or probably anyone's) but we got Nick Gage using a pizza cutter on Chris Jericho. On TV. And if I remember right, a pane of glass too? Just insanity what this company has given us.
