Niners Fan in CT Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 The media used to shit on Owens constantly but I always thought his on-field antics were great for the game. He was a bit of a cancer in the locker room but nobody could ever question his dedication to the game or his work ethic. Remember his performance in the Super Bowl on one leg? Tremendous stuff. The bitches who vote for the hall of fame will probably try to keep him out too despite being one of the most dominant receivers ever.
johnnyboy Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 As it's only the Rams, I'm hoping Kaepernick returns to fantasy respectability. Otherwise I'm going with safe and solid Alex Smith the rest of the season.
Kuetsar Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 The worst game of the week from the ugliest stadium in the league? Seems appropriate. . .
Brisco Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 How quickly the 49ers have fallen. They desperately need to win this ball game.
Death From Above Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Kaepernick (apparently) under orders to be just another pocket passer is absolutely nothing special at all. The constant NFL obsession with trying to turn QB's into something they obviously aren't might be striking again, though you'd hope not in the long run.
hammerva Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Hey look Kapernick found the end zone. At least he remembered where it was
BobbyWhioux Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Well the 49ers offense is rather predictable when Boldin's the only pass catching/field stretching threat currently active (as the rest of the league quickly learned after watching Week 1 vs GB). It's perfectly logical for opposing defense to key on Kaepernick in this situation and for the offense, in turn, to be moribund when he's trying to do it all himself and failing. Mind you, somehow the Rams still managed to forget to cover Boldin on that TD drive.
BobbyWhioux Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Whitner gets the INT he should have gotten earlier.
pipGofern Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Third and 1, let's throw a 40 yard bomb! Brian Shottenheimer is the absolute worst. How that guy continually gets jobs is beyond me. 1
BobbyWhioux Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 It never touched the ground so he can't have lost control of it even if it moved around, you idiots. "complete the process" is bullshit anyway. 1
BobbyWhioux Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 We should get some good Harbaugh Rage out of this when they overturn it though.
Burgundy LaRue Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Kaepernick (apparently) under orders to be just another pocket passer is absolutely nothing special at all. The constant NFL obsession with trying to turn QB's into something they obviously aren't might be striking again, though you'd hope not in the long run. On some level, I understand that mentality. When you see RGIII hobbling like a drunk hobo on a bad knee, keeping Kaep safe becomes more of a priority. Though with his size, Kaep can absorb hits a bit better.
Death From Above Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Yeah I get they want to keep these guys healthy but the conversion rate on "guys that have running skills" to "guys under orders not to run who become great" is, like, absurdly low. If you're not prepared to deal with the "5 cool years then ruined by injuries" style why even use those guys to begin with? Anyway, this game... the Rams really make a lot of mistakes. San Fransisco hasn't really been that impressive but the Rams just keep shooting themselves in the foot. Could still be one that comes down to the wire.
BobbyWhioux Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 GORE GORE! GORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRE. And to think, it never would've happened if not for that second dodgy Overturn Review on the drive...
Death From Above Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I don't get why they didn't do this last week vs. Indy. They had one great running drive right out of the gate then just sort of said "nope, not going to do that". At least they've learned from the mistake.
piranesi Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Yes. St. Louis. Give your amazing special teams unit one last chance to get on the field and do somehting astounding.
BobbyWhioux Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 From the esoteric Necronomicon section of the NFL rule book: Phil Dawson will attempt an Uncontested Free Kick following a Fair Catch, from 70 yards.
hammerva Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Seriously what the hell is going on here. Are they just wasting time in order to get NFL Network for their halftime show
BobbyWhioux Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Thursday Night Football Every Week is already the NFL trolling us (lol you watch whatever, whenever, you junkies), they're just making it even more obvious tonight. Still quicker than the last minute of a basketball game though.
hammerva Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I severely underestimated how awful the Rams offense is when I selected a fantasy defense this week
pipGofern Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 I was looking forward to riding the Jaguars wave of ineptitude in our DVDVR Survival game but after watching the Rams absolutely shitty offense, I think Jax has a pretty legit shot of winning next week.
