I have Randall Cobb (who is projected to be out til week 15 - well into playoffs in my league), I am toying with the idea of dropping him outright.  What do the fantasy football afficianados think about that?

Well, that's what I did. I was lucky enough to get Keenan Allen, too. There's got to be somebody you can pick up off waivers; it beats having Cobb just take up a spot on the bench.

I lucked out and proactively got Keenan Allen and Jarret Boykin, I am just worried Cobb will return week 15 and wreck shop while my team (hopefully) is in the playoff

Thanks for the Boykin heads up, as continuing my fantasy year from hell I now need a Reggie Wayne replacement. He seems like there's at least as much short term upside as anyone else I could grab.

Jermichael Finley replacements? I have Gates also so I really only need a fill in for this week (I'm fine with starting Gates the rest of the year but he's on bye this week). Available in my league include:

Jordan Reed (who I have put a claim in for, but I'm next to last on the priority wire so I don't like my chances)

Anthany Fasano vs Cle

Zach Ertz vs NYG

Tyler Eifert vs NYJ

Assuming I can't get Reed does one of the remaining really stand out over the others?

So in a post-Reggie Wayne universe, here is my WR options for the week:

Steve Smith vs Tampa Bay

Justin Blackmon vs. San Francisco

Marques Colston vs Buffalo

Roddy White (with unproven leg) vs. Arizona

Jarrett Boykin (with The Rodgers) vs. Minnesota

Smith vs. TB seems pretty automatic, Colston has really not done anything this year but but the Saints are the Saints so who knows when he will explode. Blackmon is a much more proven commodity than Boykin but... San Francisco. Roddy White is pretty much an empty roster slot unless he gets healthy, which would be... really nice. Boykin is "some guy nobody had heard of until Aaron Rodgers threw him the ball".

Yeah Smith vs TB is probably the best matchup. I would ordinarily say start Blackmon but San Fran is tough. Considering how shabby Minnesota is, I'd roll the dice with Boykin

Decision time, now that Steven Jackson is going to play. My RB options are:

Alfred Morris

DeAngelo Williams

Steven Jackson

Roy Helu

I'm only starting two of these guys and right now I have Morris and Williams starting. I just acquired Helu and almost want to play him and Morris just because of Helu's performance last week. Then again, if Jackson is somewhat healthy, he could be a good choice, except Rodgers (who I was outbid on by $2 goddamn dollars) is having a good year.

With Helu and Morris it's a guessing game which one will get the goaline carries because of that damn coach. For Williams monitor if stewart plays this week because then that's a 3 back system in carolina. I would say Morris and Jackson if healthy.

Trade offer I just received. Advice would be appreciated. League is PPR and Dynasty

I give MJD and Andy Dalton for Danny Woodhead and Ryan Tannehill.

Woodhead seems like the perfect fit for a PPR league (he's put up double the points as MJD in our league), but I don't want to give up on MJD in case he ends up in a better situation either later this year or next. Or is he done as a number one RB for good?

I really don't care about swapping Dalton for Tannehill. I have Rodgers as my #1, so I'm pretty well set for the next 5 years. Tannehill seems like as good of a bye week/emergency QB as anyone else.

I think MJD is done. I would accept the trade.

As for my RB situation, I wound up being too busy and forgot to make changes to my lineup, so Williams started anyway and wound up scoring 11.1 points for me. That, combined with the Panthers D I started gave me a nice head start this week. I think I'll still roll with Morris as RB1, but now I need to think about my lone Flex spot.

Right now, I have Larry Fitzgerald as my Flex, with Demaryius Thomas as WR1 and Desean Jackson as WR2. Now I'm wondering if instead of Fitzgerald as my Flex, if I should roll with Steven Jackson or the newly acquired Terrence Williams who has been blowing it up as of late.

Any thoughts?

EDIT: Actually...On second thought, you're not getting back nearly enough for MJD and Dalton. Any way you can get your trade partner to sweeten the pot?

After what went down with Vick yesterday, I'm thinking it might be time to cut him loose. It sounds like he's going to be out for at least 2 weeks, and I'm thinking they may hold him out on week 11 as well, since week 12 is the Eagles' bye week. So, best case scenario, Vick comes back week 13, which is the week before our playoffs start. I have Andy Dalton and Terrelle Pryor, both of whom seem to be catching fire now, so I'm thinking I should be okay. What do y'all think?

If it weren't for my opponent starting the Broncos D, I would be running away with another W this week. Instead, I have to hope and pray that Beast Mode and Wilson don't score my opponent 40 points tonight.

I'm screwed.

Golden Tate, I could kiss you. I fell down some dark fantasy depths to find myself having to start you, even though it was said you might not even participate in the match. My lead? Slim. My opponents one player remaining? Russel Wilson. Two touchdown passes should have sealed it for him, were those touchdowns not thrown to you, Golden Tate. Beautiful Golden Tate.

Better flex option: Geno Smith vs Saints (who I currently have on my roster) or should I drop him and pick up one of these QBs instead:Jason Campbell vs RavensThad Lewis vs ChiefsChristian Ponder vs CowboysKellen Clemens vs Titans

Case Keenum vs Colts

Matt Barkley vs Raiders

This will be just a 1 week fill in, as I'm only covering for Matt Stafford's bye. I have Philip Rivers starting in my QB slot. Only other available options already on my roster are Willis McGahee, Tavon Austin, Jordan Reed and Daniel Thomas. There's nothing on the waiver wire for RBs and nobody really available for WR either other than Marvin Jones but I don't have any WRs I would consider dropping (MAYBE Austin but otherwise I have Keenan Allen and Steve Smith to start this week with Megatron, Blackmon and Welker all on bye)

Posted

Geez, I gotta be honest; Marvin Jones is probably your best bet, as none of those QBs look like a good bet this week.

As for me, I have to decide who to start at QB this week. Do I play to the matchup and start Terrelle Pryor, who is up against the awful Eagles defense, or do I play the hot hand and start Andy Dalton, who has a slightly tougher matchup against Miami?

Posted

Pryor is wildly inconsistent but the Eagles are more likely to give up a few big plays than Miami I think.

Posted

That's how I was leaning, but since the Bengals are playing tonight, I needed to find out if somebody knew something I didn't. Hard to sit Dalton after the last 3 weeks, though...

Posted

So, last chance here...If anybody thinks I should start Andy Dalton over Terrelle Pryor, I'd appreciate it if you spoke up now...Got less than 90 minutes to game time.

I am debating either an Flex spot.   I am more or less set on Alfred Morris and Zac Stacy at running back.  But I have the option of slotting Trent Richardson in at Flex.

This is my set up:

RB1: Alfred Morris

RB2: Zac Stacy

WR1: Keenan Allen

WR2: Jarret Boykin

FLEX: Steven Smith

With Trent Richardson as a possible flex since Justin Blackmon went all stupid smoking the doobies

Posted

I had to make 3 waiver pick ups becuase i have 5 people on buys. (Kapernick, gore, welker, thomas, someone else)

Had to pick up Pryor to start at QB with cutler still hurt

I wouldn't do it. I have Richardson myself, and I'm not starting him unless and until he shows me something...
