Well, I didn't manage to get Andre Brown (my waiver priority was too low, I assume), but I did manage to pick up Russell Wilson, which is great for me, considering I've been surviving on a combination of Andy Dalton and Terrelle Pryor (Who I dropped to get Wilson) over the last 3 or 4 weeks.

Next week, I'm pretty well boned, though, as I lose Wilson, Dalton, Marshawn Lynch, Giovani Bernard, Steven Hauschka, AND Desean Jackson to byes. That leaves my lineup for Week 12 as follows:

QB: None

WR: Keenan Allen, Harry Douglas

RB: Andre Ellington, Shane Vereen (Picked him up today as a FA)

TE: Rob Gronkowski

Flex: Vernon Davis

K: None

DEF: Kansas City

Now, I'm currently 8-2 in my league. I've already secured my spot in the playoffs. I know I can drop Trent Richardson at this point and ride the waiver for a QB next week, but do I even bother going for another kicker?

Posted

Wow, Wilson was available?

And if there's no bonus for best record, I don't see why there's a need to secure another kicker, unless someone who is a lock is available.

I also missed out on Andre Brown, as well as Riley Cooper. However, I did manage to have DeAngelo Williams rejoin my team, which I think is a solid pickup with the Panthers facing a Patriots defense that is almost the worst in the league at stopping the run.

Wow, Wilson was available?

Yeah, the guy dropped him this past week for Nick Foles. Then promptly left him on the bench. In favor of Phillip Rivers. Yeah.

Not that I'm complaining, mind you :P

Dude in my league wants me to trade him Alfred Morris, Gronk, and Ryan Matthews for Julius Thomas, MJD, and CJ Spiller.

lol no

Does he mistakenly think you're the CPU in the Madden games or something?

After going on a 5-0 tear, I have been on an alternating L-W-L-W-L patter to get to 7-3.  I have gone from a 1st seed in my 4 team playoffs to the 4th as I fight tooth and nail in my division. The nightmare scenario sees me getting booted from playoffs completely.

I wish  I played in some of the leagues you guys speak of .  Some of your teams are jam packed.

Here is my line up for this week.

QB: Case Keenum or Andrew Luck (not sure which to start, as Keenum could be counter balanced because my opponent has Andre Johnson)

RB: Alfred Morris

RB: Andre Brown

WR: Keenan Allen

WR: Aaron Dobson

TE: Jordan Cameron

DST:  Colts (could roll the dice with the Chiefs but their next 3 weeks are murderers row)

FLEX: Rashad Jennings

K: Mason Crosby

Steve Smith, Trent Richardson, and Deandre Hopkins are all on my bench , so one or all of them is bound to have a career day.

Posted

You start Andrew Luck. He isn't going to have a repeat performance from last week.

Play the Colts D as well.

Everything else looks good as long as the fantasy football gods aren't out to get you. Everyone who is on your bench should remain there.

My trade deadline is tomorrow in my league, I am in dire need of a wideout, I just made an offer of Alfred Morris (117 pts) for Jordy Nelson (127).  I have a decent stable of RB's since I have Andre Brown, Zac Stacy, and Rashad Jennings

Edit:

Seems the guy I traded with was in dire need of an RB, he took the trade.  Hopefully, this will be good for me in the long run.  We shall see

I lost Rodgers to injury and my back up, Dalton, is on his bye, so fuck it I'm going on the Tolzien Train! Hell, he's playing the Vikings, he might have a great game. Shouldn't throw 3 interceptions again, that's for sure.

Posted

I'm debating on flipping Tom Brady. If I do, I have Tolzien or Dalton on my bench. I'm guessing I can't rely on Peyton come playoffs time, but I may be able to rely on Brady if the Patriots lose one more time. I really don't want to be forced to use Tolzien or Dalton come playoffs time though, and the following QBs are available in my league:

Josh McCown

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Carson Palmer

Mike Glennon

I'm leaning towards Palmer since I also have Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald, but I doubt those three have a game like they just had again. The next best bet may be Glennon, but I'm not sure. What do you guys think?

Posted

Once my trade goes through I am looking at this for my starting line up.

QB:  Luck or Keenum (leaning towards Keenum as he is playing the Jags)

RB1: Zac Stacy

RB2: Andre Brown

WR1: Jordy Nelson (Once the trade goes through)

WR2: Michael Floyd, Steve Smith, Keenan Allen, or Aaron Dobson (I am looking at Floyd having the best matchup)

TE: Jordan Cameron

FLX: Rashad Jennings

DST: Kansas City

Trent Richardson, Colts DST, and Michael Crabtree are staying firmly put on the bench

Soooo, who is the odd man out (2 starters, 1 Flex)?

Demarco Murray (@NYG)

Maurice Jones Drew (@HOU)

Bobby Rainey (@DET)

Chris Oingoboingo (PIT)

Currently I have Oingoboingo out, but feel like I should switch him for Rainey. He can't put up the same amount of points again, right?

Also, if Jordan Reed is out, do I start Timothy Wright (@DET) or pick up one of Heath Miller (@CLE) or Garrett Graham (JAX)?

Thanks, y'all.

Murray and Rainey. Garrett Graham.

I'd do Murray for sure. I also like Graham-- Keenum digs him and he's going against a lousy JAX d.

MJD and Rainey are a push, IMHO. MJD is not having a great year, but has a good matchup this week, as HOU is slacking against the run as of late. Rainey is on fire right now, but DET is doing really well against the run. It's flip a coin time here.

I am still debating Keenum (vs Jac) or Luck (vs ARI).  It is the Young Gunslinger versus the Jags or Mr. Consistency against a decent defense.

Okay. . .two questions for two different teams.

Team 1 - QB question

Carson Palmer @ Philadelphia

or

Matt Ryan @ Buffalo (@ Toronto)?

Team 2 - #2 RB question

Darren Sproles @ Seattle

or

Jacquizz Rodgers @ Buffalo (@ Toronto)?

My chances of a playoff berth in my 12 team league, have led me to a "season on the brink." A 3 game losing streak has taken me from 1st place in the league to 7th place, we have a lot of teams at 7-5

QB:  I am going Fitzpatrick over Luck (the Colts D can't catch a cold nonetheless a flanking wide receiver)

RB:Andre Brown vs WAS, Rashad Jennings vs DAL

WR: Jeordy Nelson vs DET, Michael Floyd vs PHI

My FLEX is my issue:  I have either Zac Stacy/Benny Cunningham (whoever gets the nod since Stacy is concussed) vs SF, Keenan Allen vs CIN, Steve Smith vs TB, Trent Richardson vs TEN, or the possibly returning Michael Crabtree vs STL

Thoughts, Suggestions, Comments???

So, I'm thinking that KC's defense isn't the best option this week, playing Denver and all. So, I checked nfl.com's start em sit ems for this week, and sure enough, they're the Sit of the Week. The good news is that 3 of the start ems they listed are available in my league:

Dallas (vs. OAK)

Buffalo (vs. ATL)

Miami (vs. NYJ)

So, which of the 3 should I take? Thanks!

Gonzo: Palmer and Rodgers. I know Philly is tough on the pass but Buffalo's D is really heating up. Given the choice of which offensive line I trust more, I would go with Arizona. As for Rogers, the Saints are coming into Seattle (which is a no man's land for opposing teams). Don't be fooled by the Hawks giving up a couple big rushing games at home. They were short some starters on the line. They're healthy now, and the place is gonna be rocking. Rogers has a better chance of getting some desperation catches from Ryan as he tries to avoid being sacked by Mario Williams for the 8th time.

Justin: First one I would rule out is Smith. He seems to only be good for about 4-5 catches and 50-60 yards a game, unless 11 points is all you need from your flex. Richardson and Stacey/Cunningham are both going against very tough Defenses. Crabtree would likely be limited plus rusty as hell if he does play so that leaves Allen. I know the Bengals D is tough but Rivers is white hot right now (look what he did against the Chiefs, who themselves are a very stout D). I suggest Allen.

Kyle: I'm starting Buffalo's D. Mario Williams is on pace to break the single season sack record and Atlanta's offensive line is atrocious this year. Fins would be my #2 suggestion, as the Jets QB situation is a shambles right now but the Fins are hardly rock solid either. Cowboys I would pick last, although still not a bad choice with Matt McGloin starting.

Dolphins Geno Smith is the QB for the Jets.

Houston's a soft matchup for sure but the Pats RB situation is always so murky who knows which guy will get the carries? I would suggest Bernard, and Davis as your flex

Jordan Reed completely fucked my team over last night. All week long that guy is talking about playing on Sunday and his team echoes the same. I have a decent lead going into the Sunday night game thanks to Peyton going into God mode, but I really want the extra points because it's the playoffs and it's game 1 of a 2 game first round. Then what happens? At 7 PM he gets benched because of a pre-game headache. All week long he's fine and then all of a sudden, an hour before the fucking game, he gets a headache? Gee, thanks.

However, I can't complain too much...my opponent had Eric Decker riding the pine, and thus missed out on 40 points.
