Craig H Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 I went into my game today 5-3, tied for 2nd in my division, and 3rd best record overall so I'm looking at a playoffs spot. My opponent is 6-2, first in my division, and has the best record in the league. In the game preview, he was a 30 point favorite since I had Peyton and Demaryius on the bench. My team was: Jake Locker Andy Dalton Alfred Morris Ryan Matthews DeSean Jackson Terrance Williams Rob Gronkowski Jordan Reed Steve Smith Pathers D Dan Bailey My opponent's team? Drew Brees Cam Newton Fred Jackson Jamaal Charles Jordy Nelson Marvin Jones Jason Witten Jordan Cameron Josh Gordon Seahawks D Adam Vinatieri At the 2 minute warning in the 4th quarter for the early games today I said fuck this and walked away figuring I would lose. I come back and I'm winning 135 to 98. What. The. Fuck. Sometimes...I hate fantasy football. Today, I love it. My opponent needs Vinatieri and Nelson to have insane games and Vinatieri has already had a FG blocked.
Death From Above Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 This is a week 10 question. I've got Gronk at TE but New England goes on bye. Do I stick with my current bench TE Houston's Garrett Graham against Arizona, or do I go to the waiver wire for Indy's Coby Fleener, Jared Cook, or Scott Chandler?
Craig H Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 I think it's a must that you pick of Fleener. That's Luck's boy and someone he feels comfortable throwing to. 1
LethalStriker Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Most of the people in my league don't set their lineups tll later in the week so I've used that to my advantage the last 2 weeks. For example my opponent had 3 of his 4 WR's on his roster(including bench) were on byes so before he got a chance I signed 3 of the best available free agent WR to my bench, just so he would have a lesser quality of talent to pick from. And this upcoming week my next opponent has Aaron Rodgers as his starting QB with only Matt Ryan on his bench, so I've already put in waiver claims for Stafford and Foles.
Kyle Casey Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 How the hell is Matt Stafford available on the waiver wire? 2
Death From Above Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 Yeah shit I've got Brady going on bye and I'm relatively happy to be able to throw The Eli out there against the fearsome Raiders defense that just make Nick Foles look like Peyton.
Craig H Posted November 5, 2013 Posted November 5, 2013 A league where Matt Stafford is on the waiver wire is a league I want to play in. Sounds like easy pickins.
Justin877 Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 I have 5 spots total to fill but 2 are RB slots, 2 are WR slots, and 1 is RB/WR. I am already set on my RB options as Alfred Morris and Zac Stacy are RB1 an RB 2. Get's a little sketchy in regards to my wideouts. Currently I have Keenan Allen, Steve Smith, and DeAndre Hopkins. I am leaning on Keenan Allen and Steve Smith. FLEX leaves me with DeAndre Hopkins , Rashad Jennings, Trent Richardson, (hopefully returning) Andre Brown. Not sure what top do withy the FLEX slot.
Craig H Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I would play Rashad Jennings in your flex spot. I was also offered a trade by someone who is notoriously cheap in my league. He actually somewhat stepped up and now I'm wondering what to do. He's offering me: Tom Brady MJD Dewayne Bowe for my: GRONK~! Demaryius Thomas I really don't know what to do. My current QBs in a 2 QB league are Peyton, Locker, and Dalton. My WRs, other than Thomas, are DeSean Jackson, Larry Fitzgerald, and Terrence Williams. My TEs, other than Gronk, are Jordan Reed and Martellus Bennett. If I pull the trigger on the trade, I essentially have to drop a RB and a QB since I'm full on each. I'm not even sure I need MJD because 1) I think he's done and you're playing Fantasy Whack-a-Mole with him, and 2) My RB corps is Alfred Morris, Mike James, Ryan Matthews, Rashad Jennings, and Steven Jackson. Having Brady would be nice, but I would be forced to drop Dalton. I almost feel like I would keep rolling with Peyton and Locker, and just flip Brady to another team. The other problem is that I'm in the driver's seat right now with a 6-3 record, and I have a match-up with this guy next week. Maybe I could convince him to do Brady and Eddie Lacy for Gronk and Thomas.
Kyle Casey Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Yeah, it's tempting, but looking at your situation, you don't need the trade. As for me, I'm having trouble settling on who to put in my flex spot this week; Harry Douglas (vs. SEA), Andre Ellington (vs. HOU), or Trent Richardson (vs. STL)?
Craig H Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 It looks like T Rich is your best play just based on the matchup, but he's so underwhelming. And the dude in my league came back with Brady and Emmanuel Sanders for Desean Jackson.

Yeah, none of the choices are particularly good. Richardson was who I was leaning towards, for the same reason as you said. That offer might be a little tougher to resist. You do have Gronk, so having Brady might be worth it...Sanders definitely can't replace Jackson, but you still have Demaryius Thomas and Fitz, so you should be good. I think I'd go for it.
Craig H Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Yeah, I accepted the trade. Jackson has been so spotty and this sets me up for the playoffs. I'm already out to a good lead this week and my opponent is crippled because of the bye. If I win this week I'll coast into the playoffs with a shot at getting some bonus money for having the best record.
Cristobal Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Who to start? Romo at the Saints or Eli home to Oakland? 25 passing yards per point, passing TDs = 4 points, ints=-1 points. sacks and fumbles aren't scored.
elizium Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Alright, here's a couple: 1) PPR League, Flex option (Start 1) Denarius Moore (@NYG) I have him starting right now. Hakeem Nicks (OAK) Timothy Wright (MIA) James Starks (PHI) 2) And normally I wouldn't ask, but I actually have a DEF question for another league: Titans (JAX) or 49ers (CAR) Thanks.

Titans.
Death From Above Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Thank goodness my opponent's team is horrible, because between my byes and my voluntary benching of Marquis Colston this could have been a disaster.
Kyle Casey Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Man, this week was a nail biter. At the end of the 4:00 games, I was done and up 106.06 to 89.90. My opponent had one player left - his QB - with me up by only 16.16 points. I figured I was done. His QB was Tony Romo. Really dodged a bullet this week.
Craig H Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Jake Locker going down with an injury pretty much threw my plans to trade Brady out of the window. I could try and roll with Peyton and Dalton, but Dalton is a mess, so for a week, if just to lock up my playoffs spot, I may roll with NFL's Masters of the Powerbomb.
Craig H Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I picked up Locker and Mike James off the waiver wire this week and started both. WTF At least I had Peyton and Demaryius.
Justin877 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I am looking at an interesting QB quandry. My choices are Luck Vs. TEN or Keenum vs. OAK. Luck despite struggling is fairly consistent, but my opponent has Andre Johnson at WR, makes me want to throw Keenum in there to offset those TD's 1
BrianS81177 Posted November 13, 2013 Author Posted November 13, 2013 Alfred Morris vs Eagles or Rashad Jennings vs Texans? I can only start one (unless I bench Philip Rivers out of my flex spot). Standard PPR.

I think the Titans are demoralized now after losing to the Jags and they won't be as stingy as they've been.
Craig H Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Dude in my league wants me to trade him Alfred Morris, Gronk, and Ryan Matthews for Julius Thomas, MJD, and CJ Spiller. lol no
