Gonzo
The BBC is reporting that Dolores O'Riordan, the lead singer of the Cranberries, has died at the age of 46. That is way, way too damn young. Loved the Cranberries in high school and college. This sucks.
BobbyWhioux
46??? So that means she was, what, 17, 18 when they wrote/recorded Dreams? This is super sad. Really dug her voice.
Death From Above
My first reaction was "what the hell man". That's way too young, I really enjoyed them in the day.
(BP)
There was a three or four year period where their singles were ubiquitous in movies and television shows, and it's one of the singular memorable things for me about that portion of the 90s. She had an absolutely lovely voice. It's not a remarkable movie in most regards, but the scene in Click where Dolores appears in the far future performing Linger but remains ageless was unique and a little haunting. Nice Guy Eddie
Nooo.....I never expected to be reading about Delores O'Riordan passing away young. "Linger" is my favorite Cranberries song.
Cliff Hanger
Maybe my all time favorite from the album that defined my senior year in HS.
Craig H
Saw this earlier and it really bummed me out. Count me in for listening to the Cranberries in late high school and college. She passed away too young and I read one story that described it happening while she was recording the new album. What the fuck happened? Uter79
I like the "hits" of course like a lot of people but going through Scotland and Ireland this summer, specifically touring the cities of Belfast and Derry gave me a new appreciation for the song "Zombie".
