Ramsey Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Bockwinkle/Hennig? Bingo! The only place I've ever seen it was the Curt Hennig dvd from a few years back. Gosh, it would be stupid to put it on the network.
MoeCristyV.1.6 Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Oh, the legendary "180° Slingshot Neckbreaker Toss".
Trocar Slush Weasel Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Bockwinkle/Hennig? Bingo! The only place I've ever seen it was the Curt Hennig dvd from a few years back. Gosh, it would be stupid to put it on the network. Is that the one from Las Vegas? I swear I've seen a good chunk of that on the Network. Can't remember which show it was that showed the last 5 minutes or so.
Infinit Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Wasn't the Bock/Hennig 60 minute match from San Fran?
Rev Ray Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 San Francisco was the Super Clash match with the roll of quarters. The draw should be Vegas.
Ramsey Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Wasn't the Bock/Hennig 60 minute match from San Fran? I'm pretty sure it was at the Showboat in Vegas during one of the ESPN tapings. It's a goddamn jewel in my opinion.
J.H. Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Yeah the 60 minute match was from the Showboat and the title switch was at the Cow Palace. Both are really good matches, though the 60 minute match is a little better despite the goofy ending. The title change led to the match that ended the Zybysko/Bock feud and then Bock's injury angle that was done so he could jump to WWF (unless my brain is foggy) James

The figure four locked in, both guys covered in blood, one holding on despite the pain and refusing to quit, the other with no energy left and hoping the figure four will finish the war.
Rev Ray Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 By the way, I love me the Bock/Larry match with Bock getting payback for the roll of quarters.
Infinit Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Thanks for clearing that up guys. Weren't the Showboat tapings a majority hotel/casino patrons? Did that fact affect the crowd heat during the Broadway?
Ramsey Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Thanks for clearing that up guys. Weren't the Showboat tapings a majority hotel/casino patrons? Did that fact affect the crowd heat during the Broadway? It does to a certain extent. yes, the crowd for that one is surreal. It's like people wander in and out to kill time until the next round of keno and yet the two guys in the match (and decent commentary if IRC) keep the heat on. I've been cheerleading this match for days now. I may need to bust this one out over the weekend. Every time I watch it, I walk away saying "yup, still the best 60 I've seen." 1
cwoy2j Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 By the way, I love me the Bock/Larry match with Bock getting payback for the roll of quarters. Never knew that happened. When did that take place?
J.H. Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 My gripe with the finish of Bock/Hennig 60 minute was the figure four spot. Hennig had been working the arm th whole match while Bock worked the leg, so for Hennig to suddenly go for a leg submission with a minute left killed the suspense for me. Even as a teenager I knew once they were down to less than 5 minutes that it was going tobe a draw, I just think Hennig going for a series of pins would've been better to wrap it up James
LP Steve Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 San Francisco was the Super Clash match with the roll of quarters. The draw should be Vegas. Wasn't it a roll of dimes? Or am I just assuming that because it was the AWA? 1

cool arrow Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Much as I love me some Mid-South, the idea that it was a "more realistic style" is kinda silly. 1
Ramsey Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Much as I love me some Mid-South, the idea that it was a "more realistic style" is kinda silly. Still...that was a good punch...and this is the DVDVR territory...
cool arrow Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Oh yeah, like I said I love Mid-South. Actually the one where Duggan punches Buzz Sawyer and Buzz takes a ludicrous bump out of the ring is much more business-exposing than this one.
Ryan Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Oh, the legendary "180° Slingshot Neckbreaker Toss". Being Yang and Paul London that was almost 100% planned for sure.
Zakk_Sabbath Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 I grew up in the 90s so a lot of Mid South looks like that guy fighting Clark Kent in the diner in Superman II after he gives up his powers to be with Lois 2
