RIPPA Posted August 5, 2015 Share Posted August 5, 2015 Hey There~! There are a couple of things I wanted to speak on (Yo. Yo. Yo. And all that.) and this is the easiest way to do it. I might do this a few more things when the more meta type things come around. None of these are Earth shattering so don't panic. The place isn't shutting down... FOR NOW.... 1) As some of you might remember - this little version of this wretched hive of scum and villainy started up in July of 2013. We are two years in - that means a lot of air bills have come in for collection (HA! YOU WILL NEVER BE RID OF THAT JOKE! SUCK IT!). This means we have had to renew a bunch of stuff (not to mention upgrading to a better server earlier this year.) in the last couple of weeks. So if folks have some sheckles laying around in their paypal accounts shoot it our way. philrippa AT hotmail DOT com is the Paypal account. We will thank you accordingly - like writing about a PPV you love and shitting all over it (mainly since it occurred in Baltimore). Everything we get gets invested back into the site. 2) For those who haven't noticed - the DVDVR Twitter account (@D_V_D_V_R) is active during MOST televised wrestling - though funnily Ray and I are really stubborn and still will suffer through TNA instead of watching either Lucha Underground or NXT on Wednesday. I get really excited about PTP often. General rule of thumb - unsigned tweets are me, everyone else will announce their presence. (I also have my own Twitter account but that is just usually me screaming at my TV during Giants games. Though I do scream different things than I scream here since I am trying to keep my material fresh. I am a psychopath.) 3) I got a Periscope account because I am an idiot. If I could think of something to do with it (outside of unboxing the one remaining box of tapes I have) would anyone have any interest in shit we have to say? Of course - this would require me to wear pants more often. 4) I would like to find something to use to update the main DVDVR site (putting the road reports and DVDVRs back up - along with our new shit). I think we have all gotten a good laugh at me using Front Page over the years but it time for us to move on. Word Press (while great for things like Can't Teach Speed) obviously isn't going to work for DVDVR. I am open to suggestions of things I can use. The key is it has to be free (unless someone has a shady copy of something that may or may not have fallen off the back of a truck. No I am not talking about porn... at least this time.) We have it and we have had some folks look at converting stuff but apparently the database is corrupted. The R is up to the imagination. In reality you were trying to make the site Oculus Rift compatible and the VR was for Virtual Reality and the AR for Augmented Reality. Live and learn I suppose.
