RandomAct Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Honestly, Bama drops to #3 AT WORST. All it takes is one loss to put them back in the BCS.
The Man Known as Dan Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Honestly, Bama drops to #3 AT WORST. All it takes is one loss to put them back in the BCS. Who are they ahead of? No way they are ahead of any Auburn, OSU, or FSU.
Dewar Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Alabama is down to at least #4. No way they stay ahead of two undefeateds, and Auburn as well.
RandomAct Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Because we know how this shit goes lol. Y'all act like the BCS system isn't entirely screwy.
Burgundy LaRue Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 A decent case can be made for Bama over OSU for #3. At least they lost to a ranked team. OSU tussled with a week Michigan.
Niners Fan in CT Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Honestly, Bama drops to #3 AT WORST. All it takes is one loss to put them back in the BCS. I don't know about that. They will be behind FSU, tOSU and Auburn in my view... if Missouri beats up on A&M they could fall behind them too.
RandomAct Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 We'll see. Nothing would surprise me at this point. I would love to see my scenario play out just to piss off all the "Saban is the devil" people.
EVA Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 They will be #4. I guess you never know how the computers will break, but no human is going to put Bama over OSU or Auburn. And even at #4, the human component will look for every option to avoid Bama getting back to #2 if OSU or Auburn loses. The national mood is such that nobody wants to see Bama slip back into the title game without playing in the SEC championship like in '11, even if they are clearly one of the 2 best teams at the end of the year.
The Man Known as Dan Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Screwy is one thing, but this would cause riots: Bama would need Mizzou to lose, then Auburn to lose to not Mizzou, as well as FSU or OSU losing. If Mizzou wins, then I think no matter who wins Mizzou/Auburn gets in above Bama. Which means they would need FSU AND OSU to lose.
Brian Fowler Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 So, tough tough rivalry games for Bama, Auburn, and Satan. Meanwhile, FSU.... And man, I did not think today could possibly have a crazier finish than Michigan vs. Ohio.
Niners Fan in CT Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Yeah there's no way you can vote Bama over a one-loss SEC champion. Even if you think Bama is better than Mizzou (and Mizzou could lose tonight anyway) if Mizzou is the champ.. you gotta vote them over Bama.
EVA Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Yeah, I think the scenario for Bama is... -Mizzou loses to A&M, giving them 2 losses and taking them out of the title game in favor of South Carolina. -It's not necessary, but South Carolina losing to Clemson tonight would help. -South Carolina beats Auburn, giving AU 2 losses and SC is too far back to jump into the top 2 -That clears the way, then they just need 1 of FSU or OSU to lose. Preferrably OSU, because even with a historic, humiliating loss to Duke, FSU's strength at #1 coupled with anti-Bama sentiment might allow them to hold on at #2 over Bama. OSU is perceived as weak, and even with a loss to a better opponent, it would be difficult for them to maintain support. I think that would do it.
Ryan Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I hope they all lose just to confuse the shit out of everything.
RandomAct Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Next season can't come quick enough. That's when the playoff system is brought in, right?
EVA Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Man. I wish the playoff started this year. If that was the case, Bama would essentially be in the clubhouse sitting in the catbird seat right now, almost assured of getting a spot in the final 4.
Burgundy LaRue Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Next season can't come quick enough. That's when the playoff system is brought in, right? Yep. Almost feels like they want to break up the SEC stranglehold before we get to 2014.
EVA Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Hey, did I mention that Southern Miss won their first game since Christmas Eve 2011 today? That was positive for me. I'm gonna chase that feeling.
Ryan Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 They should face Temple in Cowboys Stadium in an Empty Arena Bowl. 1
EVA Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 What's hilarious is that they won the ONE game that I wasn't at and wasn't on TV. It's like when Bret beat Flair for the belt on a house show in SASKATOON.
Ryan Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 ATTENDANCE: 6,383 It holds 72,000. I guess everyone was home watching the Iron Bowl.
RandomAct Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Man, I never realized just HOW MUCH non Bama fans hated Alabama until now. People are pretty much furiously masturbating on Twitter right now. I guess I know how Miami Heat fans feel now.
Brian Fowler Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Saban is very hatable, and the recent dominant run of Bama makes them the target for scorn. Of course, if it does wind up FSU/Satan, we'll get an entire off-season of hearing how it didn't count, because everyone knows the SEC champ is the "REAL national champion."
RandomAct Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I'm guilty of Heat hate, but I've never hated them for winning. That seems to be where the Bama hate stems from. People just hate them because they always win, then try to discredit the wins.
Burgundy LaRue Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Man, I never realized just HOW MUCH non Bama fans hated Alabama until now. People are pretty much furiously masturbating on Twitter right now. I guess I know how Miami Heat fans feel now. People hate winners, for the most part. And Saban, while a great coach, is something of a cranky old man. Couple that with general hatred toward Alabama, and it's a recipe for vitriol. Thing is, 99.9999999% of the people cheering this non-life threatening demise can't even fathom being that good at one thing, let alone achieve something with it. They can't think or dream big enough. So basically, we hate others for being capable of understanding greatness, then attaining it. That's what my armchair psychologist tells me.
