EVA Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Yeah, I definitely didn't like how the last game that went to OT with our kicker shanking all over ended.
Niners Fan in CT Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 That was the longest second ever. If he got out of bounds it's with 0.00001
RandomAct Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Same here. This game has given me a fucking ulcer.
Niners Fan in CT Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 LOL Saban you fucking idiot.... So fucking stupid...
RandomAct Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I love you guys. I'm going to put my head in the oven now. 1
EVA Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Hey, the freshman kicked it better than Foster had all night
Gonzo Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 So, how does the NCAA manage to get Alabama into the National Championship game anyway?
RandomAct Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 They probably only drop to #2, if I'm a betting man.
EVA Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Too late this year. It's the Michigan 06 scenario. No game left to show your resilience or for others to lose. Congratulations to our 2013 National Champions, Florida State.
Burgundy LaRue Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 So, how does the NCAA manage to get Alabama into the National Championship game anyway? It's not that hard. FSU #1, Auburn #2, Alabama #3, OSU #4. Auburn loses SEC title game in a squeaker--computers do the magic, and Alabama is #2. Cade Foster may never want to show his face in Tuscaloosa again. I could have hit one of those FGs.
EVA Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Honestly. I think Saban preferred to lose it on something wonky happening on a kick than just getting beat straight up in OT. Just my opinion.
Burgundy LaRue Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Honestly. I think Saban preferred to lose it on something wonky happening on a kick than just getting beat straight up in OT. Just my opinion. I agree with that. He clearly wasn't looking to go into OT. Probably should have given Cade one last chance, but that's hindsight.
EVA Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 Saban's true achilles heel: bad field goal kickers.
RandomAct Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 The freshmen actually got a good snap too. Foster could have made that kick.
Shadow Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 What I can't understand is Alabama can recruit five star players all over the field, but somehow they can't recruit a decent kicker?
EVA Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 What I can't understand is Alabama can recruit five star players all over the field, but somehow they can't recruit a decent kicker? The freshman who kicked the last one was actually the #1 kicker coming out of high school a year or two ago. And it was a good effort on his part, considering he was coming off the bench cold in the highest pressue situation possible for the first significant kick of his career. Saban probably should have let him kick earlier on that late 4th down when they went for it.
EVA Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 The freshmen actually got a good snap too. Foster could have made that kick. I doubt it. Something was just off in his form tonight. A couple of his PATs looked bad, too. If putting in Griffin was something Saban was willing to do, then he should have done it on that 4th down when they chose to go for it instead of kicking. I think it woudl've been beween 30-35 yards, so it would've been a much easier kick for the kid to come in on. It's hilarious, in a deeply saddening way: Saban is the absolute best at EVERYTHING...except managing kickers.
Niners Fan in CT Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I know they struggled against Michigan but there is no way Ohio St. isn't the clear #2 after tonight. They are too big of a name to be left out under these circumstances. They could very well lose to Michigan St. next week though.
EVA Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I'm not exactly sure what I should be rooting for now. Should I be pulling for Mizzou and South Carolina to win tonight, thus ensuring the best possible scenario for a non-Bama SEC team to make it to the championship? Or should I be pulling for TOTAL FUCKING CHAOS on the slim chance Bama could weasel their way back into the title game, thereby driving the whole country insane? Difficult choices.
Burgundy LaRue Posted December 1, 2013 Posted December 1, 2013 I choose chaos. The one reason I wanted Alabama to win is to drive nearly everyone stark raving mad about Saban and Co. holding three crystal balls in a row.
