  1. By the way, fuck the Hammer. The Master and Ruler has spoken: SID VICIOUS @SychoVicious 18m18 minutes ago Sasha could main event for sure. Don't tell Greg Valentine though. #NXTTakeOver

  6. I liked the finish to Taker/Brock Undertaker is old and desperate and to beat Brock he had to become a dirty, cheating, rat bastard motherfucker and completely abandon any pretense of honor. I liked it because this is a radically different direction for Taker, he's been the venerable, stalwart hero of the company, a man too legendary and respected by the audience to get booed, and now he's decidedly none of these things and Brock didn't expect him to throw it all away to win. It's been such a long time since Taker worked heel that I'm truly shocked they actually did it. You can't accurately compare this finish to the NXT finishes because NXT, more than anything, was graduation day for Sasha and Owens and that was about endings, SummerSlam is an ongoing story that won't play out until next year. Taker vs Brock rubber match at Mania 32 in JerryWorld, Brock puts his career up against Taker's and Taker loses and hangs up the boots. 100,000 people. No, Gregg didn't type this or hack my account, I just loved the finish and I'm highly intrigued by this massive change in Taker's character.

  8. My 8 year old niece started watching wrestling maybe 6 months ago mostly through me watching it when we were babysitting her. She now watches pretty much anything (including TNA. I really must have a word with her about that) but loves NXT way more than the WWE main shows. She likes Balor (even in scary Demon mode. She's kinda a badass), Becky Lynch and, shit, can even do Enzo Amore's schtick word for word (I'm sorry, as wrong as it is, it will never not be hysterical to me hearing a 8 year old Irish girl say I AM A CERTIFIED G AND A BONIFIED STUD. The complete 'the fuck?!' look my non-wrestling watching sister/her mum gave the 1st time she did it in front of her was priceless) but her absolute favourite wrestler by an absolute country mile is Bayley. She hasn't watched the show yet, it was the most fun I had watching a wrestling show in ages, I'm totally and completely looking forward to watching it again with her. Sometimes, wrestling just kicks fucking ass.

  15. The punctuation is all wrong. That was from Balor's pilgrimage to the A-Team con. It was supposed to read: "Face, Fuck me! Finn" Sadly, he was seen leaving the convention with his head down, and this under his arm:

  16. So during this show we got a Double Countout, Jon Fucking Stewart altering a major title match, and a screwjob finish that came across like bullshit. Welcome to WCW.

  18. They didn't announce last call. That's a win in my book. They probably had 2500... obviously NXT hurt the crowd, but still that's a healthy number for a beautiful Saturday night. And the show was really good. Didn't have the emotional high points of NXT, just damn good wrestling from start to finish. I can't remember the last wrestling show I went to that was so consistently good across the board. NJPW guys all worked their asses off... Okada/Strong was my MOTN but every match on the card delivered. To me, the biggest problem was that the refs were parked in the first-base corner blocking the view of everyone on that side, whereas if they'd been in the other side (facing left field) they wouldn't have been in anyone's way. Really obnoxious. Brooklyn really is the wrestling capital of the world this weekend. That's pretty fucking cool in my book.

  24. Amell having the worst physique out of everyone in that match was kind of ridiculous Barrett, Rhodes, Ziggler, Miz all kinda stuck with that "2010 future top guy" stink where it's now impossible to actually imagine them as main eventers in a post-Punk/Bryan world, the last survivors after Ted and Johnny Nitro got the fuck outta dodge

  25. When Lesnar's music hits tomorrow all the announcers and crew should leave, but as they're going someone handcuffs the timekeeper to his chair. Then he chews the flesh off his wrist to escape.

  28. At this point there needs to be three WWE MOTY categories: MOTY: Cena Division and MOTY: NXT Women's Division and MOTY: everyfuckingbodyelse, so nothing gets left out of the top 10s I do not remember a year in WWF/E where we were this spoiled for choice.

  30. This is from two weeks ago. Tenryu is doing his final tour and stopped by Hakata Star Lane for his last ever match in Kyushu courtesy of Kyushu Pro Wrestling. Kyushu Pro is an NPO and does lots of stuff fund raising stuff around Kyushu (their current project is crowdfunding the costs to hold a free show at one of the smaller islands in the area) so that plus Tenryu made for a bigger crowd than usual. Lots of kids and older fans this time around. The Great Kabuki is still around, celebrating 50 plus years in wrestling. One thing about Kyushu Pro is that since they do lots of community stuff, they have lots of comedy matches. Question: When did walking the ropes become a Japanese wrestling comedy staple? Yes, that is a missed photo of Kabuki blowing mist into the an old man mask. A lot of Kyushu Pro gimmicks are Kyushu/Fukuoka related. Part of Batten Bura Bura's name means "however" in Hakata dialect. He had a "feud" with a local TV personality who brought out Kyoko Inoue to wrestler for her. Every breath you take...every move you make...I'll be watching you. That's Ryota Chikuzen (I think most famous for being Makai No. 2). His trunks are adorned with the pattern of a famous souvenir cracker you can buy in Hakata that also comes with a mask that has the same pattern (he wears one coming to the ring). He's also the boss of Kyushu Pro. Hey, think something is going to happen to Minoru Fujita? Tenryu did most of his wrestling with Fujita. I think Arashi was in the ring longer than Tenryu. Chikuzen got the win for his team. Tenryu said thanks after to the match though no one understood what he said. That wasn't the main though. The main was Gen Kai versus Mentai Kid for the Kyushu Pro title. Mentaiko is another souvenir food from Hakata. It's a kind of spiced fish roe. The kids love the Mentai Kid although he's basically like a CAW come to life with all your basic junior moves (he whipped out a falcon arrow at one point). He also ate two pedigrees on the way to...the win. Haha. And of course swag was bought.

  31. I enjoyed the show. Bushwacker Luke stole the show. Dating Castle was over big time. Elgin-Goto was great and so was Okada-Strong. Main evenT was a little disappointing.

  33. I think my only real disappointment was WWE being lazy and not using Ikari no Jushin. Otherwise it was a really great show to watch. I really should start watching NXT more regularly now.

  36. It's kinda crazy how WWE can produce these NXT shows and make them feel so special. Like, literal "can't miss" shows. But will then turn around and make their regular shows feel like the most skipable events possible. Everything about the NXT show tonight felt different and unique. No two matches were alike, and the results felt like they mattered and carried weight. That is all I ever really want from a wrestling show. I had to watch the show on a delay so I didn't get to join in on the initial reactions, so obviously my thoughts will be somewhat repetitive. Liger busting out the "spin pose" might have been my pop of the night. Loved the tag title match too. Joe vs Corbin worked about 100x better than I expected, and I love the fuck out of that match. Sasha/Bayley will smoke EVERYTHING that happens at Summerslam. All time classic match, and right up there with Sasha/Becky. Ladder match was p crazy, and I agree that it will go down as a hidden gem of a ladder match in a few years. It won't get talked up like the more famous ones, but it felt authentic and brutal and I loved it.
