GuerrillaMonsoon
That was a crazy last over. Should have been over with a no ball on the penultimate ball that wasn't called. Sri Lanka with a run-out opportunity at each end on the last ball, one at the keeper's end that missed by centimetres, and Williamson at the non-strikers end that hit, and got his bat barely in. Pete
Major League Cricket (US T20 league) teams have been announced: Seattle Orcas, San Francisco Unicorns, Los Angeles Knight Riders, Washington Freedom, Texas Super Kings, MI (Mumbai Indians) New York. As you can see, heavy IPL involvement which bodes well for the league in the long run. All games will be contested at the Grand Prairie Stadium (former Texas AirHogs stadium, now converted to a cricket facility) this July.

SirFozzie
"And this one is nearly over, as they need 29 off 6 balls" https://www.bbc.com/sport/cricket/65227021 31 run over. The crazier thing is that not only 29 off 6, they were 39 needed off 9. Just thinking about all the past cricketing greats, and how they're spinning in their graves right now. DangerMark
The best bit was that this is all after a Rashid Khan hat trick in the 17th over, what a wild finish. Cricket greats in the stone age don't know what they're missing. Meanwhile in the County Championship only three out of the first round of eight matches went to a draw. The Natural
BBC Sport: Ireland face a final-day battle to save the second Test against Sri Lanka in Galle after the hosts declared on a mammoth 704-3 in their first innings. That left them with a 212-run lead and the tourists then lost two wickets to stand at 54-2 - still 158 runs adrift. Kusal Mendis (245) and Nishan Madushka (205) both fired double centuries with captain Dimuth Karunaratne hitting 115 and Angelo Mathews making 100 not out. Irish openers James McCollum and Peter Moor then both departed cheaply. Captain Andrew Balbirnie and Harry Tector guided the tourists to the close but the Irish know that they will have to bat well into the final day to save the contest despite having hit their country's highest runs total of 492 in their first innings. The hosts' top four batsmen all hit hundreds for only the third time in Test history. Sri Lanka won the first of the two-match Test series by an innings and 280 runs. SirFozzie
England only behind by 20 runs after day one, bowling out Ireland for 172, and then putting up 152/1 in reply. Not really surprising, Ireland's cricketers have very little red-ball experience over the last few years, so batting against a firm England attack on a cloudy day was always going to be a challenge. DangerMark
Every England player who could remotely use a rest is getting a rest, and even Irish Bowler Josh Woods is missing this one and still scheduling four days for this one is looking optimistic. Lunch on the second day and England are 325-1, the one being Zac Crawley who batted like a chump and still got 50. By the way, that 325 came off 54, so England are going at a rather sedate (for T20) six runs per over.
SirFozzie
england declare at 525-4, and reduce Ireland to 97-3, a deficit of 255. This one should end tomorrow.

The Natural
England's Jack Leach has been ruled out of the Ashes series vs. Australia with a stress fracture in his back. Leach has had it rough health wise with Crohn's disease, getting gastroenteritis which developed into sepsis and a concussion in a Test last year. Poor bugger. Get well soon. SirFozzie
File under "My how things have changed"... pre Bazball, we would have called Australia being 325 for 3 (or 3 for 325, if you are of that persusasion) after day 1 of the World Test Championship a pretty damn good day for the Aussie batsmen... These days, we just make a tsk tsk noise deep in our chest and say: "They didn't even go for four an over!"
