Charlie M. Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 There really aren't that many teams left that are good, need a second line centre, and have the cap space. Grabovski's best move would to pull a Semin, sign a one year deal somewhere he knows he'll get playing time and wait for the cap to go back up next year.
Jiji Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Agreed. Washington makes the most sense. Anaheim second. Saku ain't going to be putting up those numbers again over 82 games.
Death From Above Posted August 15, 2013 Author Posted August 15, 2013 Yeah I think he'd be perfect for Anaheim as a guy that can give them a little depth. I have no idea how much money they have floating around but it seems like that would work.
Buy Me a Burrito Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 I'd like to see the Hurricanes add another forward for depth, but I have no clue who is out there. Anything to keep Chad LaRose away from the top nine.
Death From Above Posted August 22, 2013 Author Posted August 22, 2013 Apparently Grabovski is considering an offer from the Capitals now.
Jiji Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Hey, guys, Grabovski isn't a free agent anymore. Nice fit for both player and team. Also lol'd at the Luongo interview.
Newb82 Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 So Kovalchuk is a bigoted bucket of shit. Good riddance. 1
mco543 Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 So is Pavel Datsyuk. What are they supposed to say? Anyone expecting something other than that or Ovechkin's "no comment" is a fool. Would it be nice if they stood up to this stupid shit and publicly said this law is stupid shit? Of course it would, it would be wonderful but it's not realistic. I'd be pleasantly surprised if any notable Russian athlete who is participating at the Sochi Olympics said boo about this ridiculous law. Besides...
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Things famous Russians shouldn't do: 1) Say bad things about Russia Jesus guys, you want him to be found in a movie theater with an icepick in his back?
Charlie M. Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Kovy's a bro. He's taken the heat off Datsyuk since he's an easier target for all those "but he's so good at hockey!" writers who wouldn't write anything bad about Pavel.
The Man Known as Dan Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Things famous Russians shouldn't do: 1) Say bad things about Russia Jesus guys, you want him to be found in a movie theater with an icepick in his back? This new thing your doing as being the voice of reason is weird. Let's go back to trying to annoy each other to restore some normalcy.
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 The Blues are trolling you better than I could! 1
The Man Known as Dan Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 The WIngs big off-season move was signing a really really old guy while letting pretty good young guys go. Also, your defense is terrible. ... This feels better. Thank ya sir.
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Important move: not spending any dollars on Jay Bouwmeester
Death From Above Posted August 27, 2013 Author Posted August 27, 2013 Sochi is going to be a PR mess for the NHL. Not nearly as bad if it was a summer games with the NBA, but the hockey is the big pro sport there and the NHL is going to have to play the social cowardice "well we're just athletes don't ask us about important things herp a derp" card because otherwise you'll have a North America vs. Russia line being drawn in a really uncomfortable way. I just don't see any way around that, and at some point it seems guaranteed there will be some incident with some bonehead reporter. This is obviously a really small problem in the big picture, of course. I don't want to imply this is, like, actually important compared the bigger issue.
The Man Known as Dan Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Important move: not spending any dollars on Jay Bouwmeester Wouldn't trade him for any defensemen on your roster... once again.
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 You could have our entire D for what you're paying him. In a year you'll be regretting this like Calgary still do.
The Man Known as Dan Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 .... We re-signed him at 5.4 mill. You have Kronwall at 4.75. You also have Kronwall signed at that ca hit till he's 37. I'l take our deal.

The Man Known as Dan Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I turn down that trade without thinking hard.
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Such decision making is typical of a small time franchise with no history of success. Can't see the bigger picture because there's never been a bigger picture.
Charlie M. Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I just saw that the Sedin's expect to re-sign before the season starts. That would be a relief.
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I just saw that the Sedin's expect to re-sign before the season starts. That would be a relief. For everyone.
Jiji Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 But they could bring Detroit another cup. And Datsyuk could fall back into the second line role he's better suited for. Although I don't know if Eastern Orthodoxy differentiates between twins and homosexuals. They were together in the womb, same thing really. Maybe Pavsy won't be up for this after all. HMMMM.
