Death From Above Posted September 24, 2013 Author Posted September 24, 2013 Damien Brunner has signed a deal with the New Jersey Devils. Looks like 2 years, $5 million total.
Robert Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 So Clarkson is only suspended 10 regular season games & can still play 3 pre-season games this week including tonight. I wonder what happens if he gets "injured" tonight and the Leafs are "forced" to put him on the IR which in turn would free up much needed cap space...
odessasteps Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Rolston also now fined for ... Leaving Scott on the ice? Ordering a Code Red?
Dewar Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I would have suspended Rolston for sending his goon out to attack a star* player. That was a bullshit move, and he knows it. *Not going to debate if Kessel is a star or not, but he's clearly not a fighter.
Robert Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I still find it 100% hilarious that this all happened WITHOUT Ott & Kaleta in the lineup. Imagine how worse things would have been with those two involved.

Death From Above Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 This is the most random request but does anyone have a decent picture of that giant Roberto Luongo head that was in the crowd all last Olympic hockey tournament? Google is failing me for once.
Charlie M. Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 I saw it in my dreams/nightmares for a solid six months. 1
Death From Above Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 Seriously I see it and I just start chuckling. I can't help it. I don't even know why.
Charlie M. Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 This also came up. Why is Luongo the one wearing a hat?
Death From Above Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 Because if you hit Getzlaf on his shiny bald head, one of those Budweiser goal lights goes off. 1
elizium Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 ...and you need something to stop the oil from getting in your eyes. Eyesight is key to goalieing.
Big Fresh Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 HOLY SHIT THEY'RE GONNA WIN ANOTHER STANLEY CUP!I really wish I hadn't laughed at this.
Robert Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Cant IR a guy that is going on suspension You can. Teams are eligible to receive cap relief when a player is considered to have a "bona-fide long-term injury" — injuries that cause a player to miss at least 10 games or 24 days. In such cases, the team can place the player on long-term injured reserve (LTIR). #boom
Death From Above Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 Darnell Nurse (this year's 7th overall pick) is making a really serious push to make the Oilers, and not in an ironic "haha Edmonton needs a child defenseman" way either. Very impressive preseason he's had. He honestly looks like one of those players where more junior hockey is a redundant thing, even if in theory it's what you should want to do with him. EDIT: He is going back to junior but it was a great camp. Seems a lock for the world junior team.

In the new CBA if a player say David Clarkson sustains an injury and will miss 20 games the 10 game suspension he is serving will still count against the cap. Then you could put him on LTIR. #doubleboom. And I am not talking out my ass since this very scenario was brought up on the radio today many times.
elizium Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 #quintupleboom Is this a game we're playing? #octoboom Oh yeah, hockey talk. Um, fuck the Leafs?
Big Fresh Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 A true Leaves hater would spell it with a "v". They HATE that shit.
elizium Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 I hate the Leafs so much that I didn't even give it a second thought!
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 My Canuck supporting friend calls them the Laughs.
Charlie M. Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Best joke about the Leafs incident was Sid from Tim & Sid. For leaving the bench to go after Big John Scott, David Clarkson received $10,000.
Newb82 Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 That brawl may end up being the highlight of the Sabres' season. *sigh*
Death From Above Posted September 26, 2013 Author Posted September 26, 2013 Highlight of the Flames/Coyotes preseason game was Mike Smith pulling a dude's hair. He really is the second coming of Ron Hextall. Bless his heart. What the hell is wrong with people this preseason?
