  3. There’s so much to be said about how AEW told the story of a reluctant, self-doubting hero and his hesitant friends coming together for the common good, compared to WWE’s simplistic, alpha male, lone wolf, I am a tough guy and very badass characters and storylines. I am so thankful for AEW, its staff, and wrestlers for doing what they do and telling stories designed to appeal to more than just 14 year old white kids.
  4. Between Manchester Orchestra on the opening video and Hot Mulligan doing Fletcher's new theme, AEW is getting really emo-adjacent and I love it.
  5. AKA the coolest distant relative
  6. I was in and out of watching the show, missed most of both Casino matches due to errands and dinner but this was a great show. The bucks match was mostly my preferred type of Bucks match not too much cheeky shit just a fast paced tag match, they lost me for a bit with the double Canadian destroyer fighting spirit spot but brought me back pretty quickly. Dustin winning the TNT belt was great, after Coles hopefully not farewell speech it was the best call to lift the crowds spirits and it was such a great moment for Dustin to have that on this stage he deserves it. other than the egregious kick out of three finishers in a row thought Mone/Storm was very good and that the right person won it gives Mone something new in her AEW run she’s not unbeatable anymore and it also cements Toni as the ace of the division. Okada Omega was very good as well could have done without some of the stuff at the end. If Okada had just kicked out of the OWA the place would have been shocked but I get not wanting to waste that moment with what was coming in the main event. Mox and Hangman had a wonderfully bloody battle that reminded me of classics ECW and 90s Japan death matches in the best of ways. Both men are just top tier wrestlers and were the right guys for main event of the biggest show of the year. This was such a well booked match with everything coming undone for the DRs as the collective of Page/Ospreay/Danielson/Darby/Swerve (and Nana) was too great for the DRs bullying shenanigans to work. And kudos to so much of the little things they did, the color of the gear white vs black, though some of the DRs wisely had white on too for the bloody affair, the moment where Mox wrapped the barb wire around Pages head giving the image of a crown of thorns, this was a battle of good triumphing over the evil that has plagued AEW, a triumph of spirit and new beginnings. Glorious stuff. I also want to just say that the growth of Page over the course of AEW. Before AEW I was not a fan of Hangman, I thought he was a bottom talent level guy in Bullet Club down with Scurll up until his G1 in 2019 where I saw that something might be there. And since AEW started he showed how much was there and has just grown more and more , hes gotta be in the conversation for best in the world right now all around character, in ring, he is a top top guy
  7. "You old enough to drink Tommy?"
  8. Gunther also faced a 53 year old Fit Finlay in 2011. Finlay was just off a WWE run and probably could have kept going but yeah..
  9. Maybe Juice should shave his head and do a King Kong Bundy tribute with the fat guy singlet.
  10. Supposedly all of this fed into the other. His back injury led to him not wanting to do (as many) singles matches and be protected/hidden in tags, which in turn led to the perception (true or not) that he didn't want to take any losses, which led to him being labeled as one of those hard to work with guys and was moved to Collision in the early days when that brand was supposedly viewed as the land of the misfit toys & Punk's friends IE Miro, Starks, Malakai/House of Black, FTR, etc. There's also the idea that guys rather be midcard in WWE instead of a top guy/upper echelon of the card in the #2 US promotion because WWE is the only place that matters. Meltzer has talked about it before. It's why TK hasn't even touched the latest round of WWE firings, because most of the ones from before have used their work in AEW to get back to the promised land, or were just waiting until they got the call to return once their contract was up. Elayna & Shotzi both went on Helwani's show and said they'd love to work with AEW but ultimately want to go back to WWE and that's not what the other guys are looking for, it gives an air of biding time until they get the call.
  11. Today
  12. If what Craig mentioned about Miro is accurate his issue is more not caring about much beyond the paycheck than anything else.
  13. Duggan definitely looks like the distant relative who shows up at the family reunion with firecrackers (and a few m80s) and a six pack.
  14. Goldberg's final match Saturday's Night Main Event July 12, 2025 World Heavyweight Championship Match Goldberg Vs Gunther (c) https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9mu18m
  15. Smooth Juice is awful but Chubby Singlet Juice is an idea with some legs.
  16. Apparently WWE remain high on the guy. Noone will care that he jobbed to Ron Killings if he's on a push. There was obviously a trust issue in AEW - every bit of it we'll probably never know, but it was somewhere between the injuries, the Collision politics, and a willingness to try to 'ptotect his character' which he wouldn't even think about trying in WWE. You can say the same about Miro, who I honestly think would have been AEW World Champ if he'd played ball. Yeah, he's racked up some wins on Raw, but noone cares.
  17. Glad to know I’m not the only one. Hasn’t worked for me at all.
  18. My first encounter with Jun Kasai was in Zero-One, where he was in a comedy tag team with Don Arakawa. Kasai was called “Crazy Monkey” wore a tail, and ate bananas through the match. Arakawa would lead him to the ring on a leash. I was baffled when I learned the dude was a death match wrestler.
  19. Not sure whose show this was, so I’ll just put it here.
  20. The Cubs are higher than expected, given their longstanding gimmick. baltimore being so low is presumably due to decades of the St Louis Browns.
  21. You will not, because it's not you, it's the board lol
  22. Casey

    Next

There's gotta be a difference in versions or something, because EWB is an Invision board too and it works perfectly fine.
  23. Specific to the Pirates - they have a 3 year run every 20 years where they make the playoffs consistently and bank about 15-20 wins That staved things off for awhile
  24. The Twins are approximately 700 games under .500 The Yankees are over 2600 games over .500. The Dodgers are closing in on being 1400 over .500 (they enter today 1382 games over) I haven't found a list that is updated daily so I just look at BR's franchise pages (maybe they have the full list behind their paywall)
  25. I was wondering when one of his kids would end up giving wrestling a try. I know he has taken them to shows before.
  26. That does make we want to see what the others are. Other than the Yankees and Cardinals and probably Oddgers all being well over .500, I don’t know I’d solidly bet on any of the others. Maybe Minnesota being under thanks to all the bad Senators teams. for the curious https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_all-time_Major_League_Baseball_win–loss_records
  27. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I just click the mouse wheel to open a new tab now. It's now habit.
