Kuetsar Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Fantastic football game. Which is going to be utterly lost in the shuffle because the refs were terrible. And considering there were only four games this weekend, that should be one of the best four crews too. . . .
epwar Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Yeah no calls went against Dallas in that first half or anything. Those were just diversion tactics to give the impression of impartiality. When it came crunch time, you saw who got their flag picked up.
Dewar Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 The problem might be that they don't take the four best crews, they take the "best" at each officiating position, and toss them together. It's like an all-star ref roster.
Tabe Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 It was blatant. He held him before the main contact, ran into him before the ball arrived, and didn't get his head around. He literally committed two different fouls in three different ways on that play.Yeah, I don't know how anybody could look at that play and NOT think it was a blatant penalty.
Raziel Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Seriously dude, there are *Cowboy* fans saying that picked up flag was weapons grade horseshit and they got away with one.
Burgundy LaRue Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I'm surprised at how many Cowboys fans we have. I thought DEAN was the only one around here.
Tabe Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 The official NFL explanation is that the refs decided it was face guarding, which is not illegal in the NFL. You can probably guess what I think of that explanation.
Brian Fowler Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Even if they want to rule out the entire Pass Interference, there was still BLATANT defensive holding before that.
glfpunk Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 It was an underthrown pass that was never going to be caught regardless. If the defender could have had his head turned if he wasn't being facemasked it probably would have been intercepted.
Brian Fowler Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Except when the contact happens, both of Pettigrew's hands are clearly visible not on either side of his head. So... No. As a no call, it would have been horrible. With all the other bullshit, it's an abomination.
Brian Fowler Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Watching the play over and over, and there is absolutely no face masking during the action. After the ball has hit Hitchens, then Pettigrew's hand catches the side of the facemask but doesn't grab on. It's just a really opportunistic screen grab that didn't even occur at the right time to negate the foul. Plus, even if the ball was uncatchable, defensive holding stands and clearly should have been called.
Brian Fowler Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 And, of course, Dez Bryant should have been flagged for running onto the field to argue the call before it was reversed... So, anyway you slice it, it should have been first and 10.
Kevin Wilson Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Don't waste your time buddy, you can't reason with Cowboy fans
