Brian Fowler Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Holding them to three after the drive and penalty is huge. But the offense has to do something now.
pipGofern Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 He's dirty and all but Suh is an absolutely unblockable beast. If I was Detroit no way I'd even consider letting him go. This is the first Lions game I've watched this year and their defense - while vicious - are tremendous fun to watch.
Brian Fowler Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Problem is his contact was under the old rookie scale. His franchise tag number would be something like 27 million. They had no leverage to get a deal done before the off season
johnnyboy Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I really need to go to bed, but damn this is a compelling game.
Shadow Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I said it before and I'll say it again...Calvin Johnson is a real life cheat code
Brian Fowler Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Man, this is totally not a game where the running game opens up as it goes for Detroit.
pipGofern Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 They picked up that flag? Oh boy....cue the "how much did Jerry give these zebras" conspiracy theories...
pipGofern Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 That might be the worst unblocked punt I've ever seen
epwar Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Yup, nothing suspicious about picking up that flag at all!
Brian Fowler Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 There have been a lot of bad calls both ways. There is nothing dumber in football than trying to draw them off sides without a play called.
Shadow Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Has there ever been a weekend with worse special teams play? Â It has been horrid all wild card weekend.
glfpunk Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Well that was a gift pickup of that flag for Dallas but that shit evens out. There have been some bad calls against Dallas this game. 1
Brian Fowler Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Well that was a gift pickup of that flag for Dallas but that shit evens out. There have been some bad calls against Dallas this game. Definitely. The missed running into the punter was probably the worst. But damn that was a terrible call, made absurdly late, at an absurdly important moment in the game.
johnnyboy Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I bet he'd like that one back to have another crack at. Crazy game, I can only imagine how short the nails of Lions fans are now.
dogwelder Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 The only thing I can think of is that one of the refs thought the receiver pulled the defender into him briefly by the helmet? It sort of looks like that from the end zone view...but that still would be a really questionable overturn.
Tabe Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Mike Pereira just said the flag was picked up because the officiating crew doesn't work together normally. Uh, no. It got picked up because it was a good crucial call in favor of Detroit.
Brian Fowler Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I could have lived with it as a bad no call, but flag thrown, penalty announced, then picked up as the Lions were getting their first down line up on the field... I'm still pissed.
