Phantom Lord Posted October 7, 2023 Share Posted October 7, 2023 That was a good episode of Smackdown. I loved the ending with Cody and Jey Uso coming down to hold the fort. Poor JD being the sacrificial lamb for Judgement Day. But man they should re-evaluate Cody taking off the title from Roman if they haven't all ready. Cody should still be the one to beat Roman. Eivion Posted October 7, 2023 Share Posted October 7, 2023 (edited) Charlotte/Asuka vs. Bayley/Io had a rough moment or two but was pretty solid as a whole. Io and Bayley have become a better team with Dakota unable to wrestle. Lashley/Rey was good. Dug the finish with the Profits taking out Cruz and Wilde. Wish they replayed the spear Lashley hit from another angle. The one from the first shot was so perfect. The replay's angle looked weak. Dragon/Theory was good and a nice Smackdown debut for Lee. Was happy to see Grimes make the save at the end. Its been a shame not seeing hit get used. Its nice to see Fyre and Dawn getting creepy vids claiming to curse the women's division. I do wish we saw something actually building towards it. Its particularly weird we haven't seen Piper & Chelsea pop up on Smackdown more. Knight/Jimmy was solid while it lasted, but it ultimately it was about serving the purpose of the Judgement Day/Bloodline teamup and the super hot Jey, Cody, and Cena save. That was a fun ending. She does everything. 1) Awesome in-ring and one of the best unstoppable badass forces ever. Has had bangers non-stop. Lest we forget she just a few weeks ago had the best match of Nattie’s career. 2) She’s a great intimidator/second at ringside when her crew are wrestling. 3) Her comedy stuff with Dom is so good. She is able to do that stuff and still more than retain her credibility as a badass. 4) She was more than convincing in staring down Heyman in their battle of masterminds. That is so hard to pull off. Heyman is a really great performer and very giving but you still need the other party to act the part of someone who can play chess. Rhea did that perfectly.
