jaedmc Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Big John McCarthy said that when Cormier defended against Anthony Johnson, Cormier went from 205 at the weigh-ins to 236(w/ sweat pants on) the night of the fight. I'm really interested in what he looks like in fight without having to do that kind of weight cutting.

Cormier came in heavier for the title fight than the guy who has been at HW his entire career. Just like Marreta did yesterday, Alexander Volkov weighed in officially to become the backup guy for tomorrow night. I'm not surprised at all by Cormier's weight. He's one of those dudes who seems to struggle mightily with every single weight cut. The secret about why heavyweight MMA sucks is that anyone who can cut enough weight fights at 185 or 205. If the Bellator heavyweight tournament has taught us anything it is that a big middleweight is just a small heavyweight. Luke Rockhold, Yoel Romero, Jacare, shit maybe even Darren Till, would be over the 205 floor if they didn't cut any weight. Seriously, who was the last fighter to weigh in at less than 230 for a heavyweight fight?
The Natural Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 Sucks to lose Max Holloway vs. Brian Ortega the week of the fight but better to be safe than sorry on health grounds.
The Natural Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 Having a feeling/hunch DC will do it tonight and become the second man to hold two UFC Titles at the same time. I'm not naming the first for his recent antics, fucking tool. 1
Elsalvajeloco Posted July 7, 2018 Author Posted July 7, 2018 Emily Whitmire was very unhappy Vinny Magalhaes switched his allegiance to say the least.
Elsalvajeloco Posted July 8, 2018 Author Posted July 8, 2018 Both Millender vs. Griffin and Vannata vs. Klose were extremely fun fights.
jaedmc Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Just missed them. Got in just in time to see Font get out classed. Fuckin pumped for this card though.
Elsalvajeloco Posted July 8, 2018 Author Posted July 8, 2018 Borrachinha is Portuguese for Brazilian Lex Luger. Uriah Hall was doing pretty well until he wasn't. 1
jaedmc Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 ROUNTREE OUTTA NOWHERE. He said he was going to derail Saki, and he totally fuckin did that.
Elsalvajeloco Posted July 8, 2018 Author Posted July 8, 2018 I like that Saki was talking about the holes in Khalil's game and then Saki gets walloped by a straight left through the guard while throwing a lazy low kick.
Elsalvajeloco Posted July 8, 2018 Author Posted July 8, 2018 Anthony, please stay at lightweight. I would like to see him versus the winner of Gaethje vs. Vick on the final ever UFC on Fox in Milwaukee.
jaedmc Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 Between the Rountree surprise, and Pettis shutting Chiesa's mouth, I'm having a good night so far. And we haven't even gotten to the hosses.
Elsalvajeloco Posted July 8, 2018 Author Posted July 8, 2018 Semi restrained Mike Perry is a massive upgrade over Look for one killshot and stalk your opponent until it happens Mike Perry. I am more confident he can fight at a consistent pace against better fighters. 2
DreamBroken Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 That was the Platinum Perry I wanted in his last two fights. Fun fight. Great to see Pettis back with a big win too. 1
jaedmc Posted July 8, 2018 Posted July 8, 2018 At least I knew Punk/Jackson would be garbage going in. Ngannou/Lewis was the biggest disappointment of the year.
