Dolfan in NYC Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Game 1 is Saturday at Chavez Ravine. LA will start Clayton Kershaw. The Cubs will start whoever's arm is still attached.

RIPPA Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 I joked yesterday "Do the Dodgers even remember they are in the playoffs?"
Craig H Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 The Cubs have no one to pitch, but it doesn't matter anyway since they can't help but give up runs.
RIPPA Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Jose Quintana threw only 12 pitches on what I believe was his bullpen day. He can easily start Game 1 on normal rest
Craig H Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 My brain is mush from watching this mess of a game 5 so thanks for pointing that out. That's somewhat comforting.
Pete Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 As if things couldn't get any weirder, the Cubs' flight to LA was diverted to Albuquerque due to a non-player medical issue... and then their flight crew timed out so they had to get brand-new personnel to fly the rest of the way. Woof.
Craig H Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Yeah, it's been just a hell of a week for them. The postponed game was bad enough so that regardless of which team won, they're only getting 1 day off before the LCS. Then you add this bullshit on top of it and, yeah, not great. I was pretty confident that we'd get the Cubs against the Stros in the World Series, but man, I don't know now.
RIPPA Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Dodgers are going Kershaw, Hill, Wood, Darvish Cubs are going Quintana and then ???? John Lackey was the other option for Game 1 so maybe he pitches Game 2 but they haven't said anything Edit - Reading another story, Joe Maddon said he "believes" Jon Lester will be ready for Game 2
RIPPA Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 So yeah.... Corey Seager isn't on the Dodgers NLCS roster

Corey Seager isn't on the Dodgers NLCS roster That is potentially a series changer, and has me much more optimistic about this series. And I was in the "well, they won a series, that's a good run this year" mindset.
Nice Guy Eddie Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Why wouldn't Seager be on the roster? Did he get hurt in the Arizona series?
Craig H Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Man, Seager being out changes a lot of shit. Cubs go from a 43% chance to lose to a coin flip.
Craig H Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Joe's managing of the bullpen is so infuriating.
Dolfan in NYC Posted October 15, 2017 Author Posted October 15, 2017 For the record, watching the highlights after Puig bat flipped for his double, the next at bat, he stood there fully expecting to get plunked. He seemed genuinely surprised by it being a regular fastball strike. I'm not sure why I think that's funny, but I do.
RIPPA Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 I feel like Joe Maddon and John Lackey would also approve if helmet to helmet rules in the NFL were relaxed too
Craig H Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Oh my fucking goodness. I'm done with Maddon. He's actively fucking this team raw with these shitty, shitty, shitty bullpen moves. Jesus Christ.
Craig H Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 I can't even right now. I just can't fucking comprehend why he would go to LACKEY. It's like Joe was trying to throw the game.
Craig H Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 WHAT IN THE FUCK. Joe literally used VETERAN FUCKING PRESENCE as an excuse for his shithead decision making. Joe has turned into Dusty.
Pete Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 I'd be confused too if Tormund Giantsbane hit a walk-off homer against my team. 1

zev Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 All the salty margaritas in Los Angeles, I'm gonna...say they were salted with Ron Darling's tears.
Craig H Posted October 17, 2017 Posted October 17, 2017 Ron Darling fucking sucks. I HATE these games being called on TBS. Darling is like a really sucky character from the Office.
