EVA Posted September 29 Posted September 29 I get Georgia taking shots downfield early. I thought they would. But UGA has GOT to commit to the run to settle into this game. Beck is not a win-it-by-himself QB. Georgia definitely appears to be the team playing with more anxiety early.
Elsalvajeloco Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Nice to see that Bama scheduled Georgia Southern for a primetime game. ....wait, say what now? 1
hammerva Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Whatever chance to get back in the game went right down the drain on the very next play
EVA Posted September 29 Posted September 29 (edited) I’ve seen Bama blow bigger halftime leads at Bryant-Denny…but this is not UGA’s ideal game state. Very interested to see Kirby’s halftime defensive adjustments, because he usually has great ones. And what kind of counterpunches DeBoer might have. Edited September 29 by EVA
EVA Posted September 29 Posted September 29 So Kirby made good adjustments and DeBoer has not had good counterpunches. Geogria still has a chance!
Kevin Wilson Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Georgia/Alabama is crazy, gotta love college football.
Kevin Wilson Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Throwing an INT on 1st down in that situation is an inexcusable mistake. On 4th and desperate, sure, just throw it but with plenty of time it just wasn't a good decision. Good game though.
Raziel Posted September 29 Posted September 29 I'm beginning to think there were a LOT of overrated QB's coming into this season.

In the moment, I didn’t hate the decision, because UGA had been abusing Bama’s freshmen in single coverage the whole 4th quarter, and that was the coverage on that play. I totally get why you would take a peak at that. But when you see that Brown was playing a 10-yard cushion, basically backpedaling to plant his heels on the goal line, knowing that he doesn’t have to cover a bunch of field behind him…and he’s clearly staring you down all the way…and you’re throwing from the hash to the far sideline (and you don’t exactly have a rocket arm)… Yeah, you can’t throw that ball. And you absolutely cannot throw it back shoulder. Horrible read. I know it’s gonna sound weird to criticize a guy who ended up throwing for like 400 yards and brought his team back from 28-0…but they did not in fact winthe game. And his 4 turnovers were a huge part of that. They’re not going to win many games against other great teams playing Beck Ball like that. UGA gotta get the run game going, if they’re gonna turn this season around. Edited September 29 by EVA
EVA Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Conversely, if Jalen Milroe can be as consistently good in the short/intermediate passing game as he was in the 1st half tonight… CFB is gonna have a BIG problem on its hands.
EVA Posted September 29 Posted September 29 (edited) Trying to fathom the combination of body control and hand-eye coordination required to pull off something like this…running full speed, jumping, stopping, pirouetting, somehow doing all this while tracking a football that you’re juggling on your fingertips. The Big 12 might be a worse league than we thought going in to the season, but as a result, maybe twice as competitive. Through 2 games, the top 3 are…BYU, Colorado, and Texas Tech. Doubt anybody had that at this point.
