  1. One positive out of Liverpool's loss is 3pt's for Leicester. The Tinker Man is doing a phenomenal job there and outside of LFC winning (which this season has no chance of happening) I'd much rather Leicester win the league to shake things up. I wonder though whether the vultures will hover over Ranieri if they do win and he gets a bigger managerial role away from Leicester City. But going back to Liverpool, I think Jurgen Klopp has the deck stacked against him. If he had a fully fit squad I think they'd be top 4 at least. But with them in 4 competitions and a squad stretched to its limits that they have been playing youth players it's taking a toll and I'd imagine the entire squad will be broken down by the end of the season. One guy who desperately needs a shot of self-confidence is Benteke. Everytime he gets the ball he can't get it away from him quick enough when he should have the confidence to shoot at any good opportunity at the goal. Instead I've seen him misplace passes, pass when he has a clear shot on goal etc. Maybe Klopp should send him to a sport psychologist and help him out because he does have a good track record as a goal scorer, but he's going thru a dry spell right now and until he scores & gains confidence this will continue on & on. I also wonder how long the powers that be at Liverpool will give Jurgen to turn it around. He's in a situation where he's inherited a mess, a squad of some under achieving players, signed for huge transfer fees and he needs to ship them out and bring in players who will fight for every loose ball on the pitch and give 110%. I think the whole team needs a re-shuffle, especially up front, but saying that I'd keep Christian Benteke because he is a goal scorer as proved when he was at Aston Villa, but for some reason it hasn't worked out for him at LFC. Failing that I would like outside of the premiership for a striker, since there you are paying high transfer fees for players that you might find for a more reasonable price elsewhere. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Klopp's old club Dortmund, would be a good signing and he is a transfer target for the Reds too.
  2. Is it possible to get thru the XBoxOne store, or do you have to get it via the link on the XBox website?. I assume once you get the game it syncs with your XBox account & downloads it to the XBox One instead of the 360?.
  3. Liverpool were lucky tonight to draw. I think they must have set a record for the number of first team debuts in one match. Not really a B team they played, but a C team with a lot of youngsters and a few older players like Benteke & Jose Enrique. Definitely need another backup keeper, why they let Pepe Reina go in the first place boggles the mind since IMO he's a better keeper than Mignolet. Fair dos to Exeter as they put on a heck of a performance and they have one player who could make a big name for himself in Tom Nichols & one who might get a big money move too in the transfer window.

    30 For 30

Isn't there supposedly going to be one about Ric Flair too, or is that for their ESPN shorts series?. The Orlando Magic one I'll definitely check out. Haven't seen the Bills one in the TV listings yet, but will check it out when it's aired. ESPN/BT in the UK seem to be just repeating older one's at the moment. The Legend of Jimmy the Greek and Brian & The Boz are the next ones they are showing. They were supposed to show the one about the Baltimore Colts band but they showed something totally different instead. Most recent one I've watched is There's No Place like Home about the NBA rules. Also watched some of the U about Miami University, once they air the sequel will check that out too.
  5. Surely Anderson & Gallows will be NXT exclusive talent and Karl's most likely being hired because he's best buddies with Finn. Kinda like when Punk got Colt his WWE gig. According to the interview Shinsuke Nakamura was buddies with Finn to so it seems Hunter went to Finn and asked who they should sign from New Japan and he vouched for his buddies. I don't know whether the Bullet Club would translate well on the main roster but they would be perfect for NXT since 99.9% of the audience will no doubt be familiar with them already. But bringing them up on Raw most folks be like "Who?" and think they are a nWo knock-off or whatever. That's the #1 danger they have right now, signing top indie names or those like Nakamura who are top talented wrestlers but outside of the WWE and TNA bubble they are relative unknowns. Most WWE fans be like "Meh, Festus is back", or might be vaguely familiar with AJ Styles. Who again if he gets called up to Raw and/or SmackDown! might have a name change since there was already a AJ and there's a Styles (Joey) and historically they don't like having similar names, think they made Micky Jay the ref change his name because it was too similar to Mickie James.

    30 For 30

We get most of the 30 for 30's on the UK equivalent of ESPN, but don't think they've aired the "Chasing Tyson" & one about the Bills yet. Unless they did and I've missed them?. Most recent new one which was shown was the Prince of Pennsylvania (Foxcatcher related). I was watching one earlier which was "Survive & Advance" about NC State and IMO it's definitely one of the best 30 for 30s, shame it didn't have a happier ending.
  7. Oh yeah, definitely. Saying the commentary is terrible is actually an understatement. You've got Alex Shane trying to be funny and doing I don't know if it's a pale imitation of Jesse Ventura or Jerry Lawler or what (more like how Mark Madden was in WCW) but he's trying to get himself over as like a jock type making fun of the lisping guy (who also gets on my nerves too when he calls the high spots he tries to be JR) and doing references to 80s songs, trying to sing(!), pretending to be hitting on any women who appears on screen among other wackiness. If it wasn't so get on your nerves unfunny it would probably be kinda funny really but it doesn't really fit the matches you're watching, more so a product where there's a comedic element to it. Like there was a really good Nakamura vs Tenzan match and their commentary spoilt it. Maybe get JR or an old WCW/WWE announcer (not Mark Madden though) do play-by-play instead. I'd rather they kept the original commentary from the original show/PPV broadcasts. Shame it's not like the old Eurosport where you could choose a different audio feed or you could overdub their announcing somehow with white noise since that would be more entertaining.
  8. Not sure if it's airing outside of the UK at the moment, but the final season of Peep Show has been hilarious.
  9. What's the big hold up with WWE signing Kurt again - is his health that bad they couldn't bring him in for a short run, or one last match?. I remember them dropping Angle like a bad habit but he was quickly snapped up by TNA & did that big angle with Joe. I wonder in hindsight how Kurt would have fit into things if he stayed around in the WWE and they let him heal up and work a lighter schedule. Plus has any wrestler stayed retired? I know the Funker has retired and unretired a billion times, but he has a free pass cause he's TERRY FUNK~!
  10. Haven't read it myself but there's a bit more about it here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/lion-s-pride-the-turbulent-history-of-njpw#/& sample of the book here
  11. Currently reading Zappa: A Biography by Barry Miles. Not as indepth as other Frank books I've read but has a few different stories (or variations on them) I haven't heard before.
  12. So I've googled and such but can't seem to find any modern day Puroresu CAWS for VPW2. Looking for the entire Bullet Club, Nakamura, Tanahashi, Okada, Davey Boy Jr, Lance Archer - mainly the New Japan guys as it's the main Puro promotion I kinda keep up to date with, thanks.
  13. Not sure what the big deal was for Sky Sports to get Main Event, would much rather have had them kept NXT instead. I watch Main Event, but it's kinda a non-event apart from the occasional good match. Maybe if they made it more like the SNME of old and air it once a month or bi-monthly or something.
  14. Was thinking has there ever been any wrestler/Diva who've retired undefeated or with a few minor blips on their win/loss record?. A few names which come to mind with an almost perfect record - Andre (although he lost quite a bit later in his career) & the Fabulous Moolah.
  15. Yea, it's only a minor blip though and their winning goal was scrappy. Liverpool had some good chances to score (especially Benteke) and if they converted those they'd have won. The defense definitely needs to sorted out a great deal. Maybe in January they'll give Jurgen some cash to spend so they can bring in some quality defenders. As long as this loss doesn't deflate the players confidence and start off a string of losses with the fans starting to turn on Klopp is when team morale will drop. He's still the right man for the job (in my opinion anyway) and even if Rafa came back or they got Ancelotti it would still take time to turn it around. I mean look at Jose Mourinho at Chelsea, that's a situation where fans should be concerned because if the board do stick by him and they keep on losing they could even get wrapped up in the relegation dog-fight and I don't think Jose's ever had to deal with that before at any of the teams he's managed. Even Cloughie (for all his successes) couldn't keep Notts Forest from being relegated. So whilst I'm sure some Liverpool fans attitudes towards Jurgen Klopp has changed a little as I assume some thought he would hit the ground running and go on a massive string of wins and get to the top 3. But football doesn't work like that and I think Klopp is an appointment where not only should the fans, but the Liverpool upper echelon management needs to give him time and allow him to initiate his philosophies and style of play is integrated into the team. He's also still without some key players so once Sturridge is back and Hendo they should be great additions to his starting line up when available. But I do think Liverpool has to spend in the transfer market and get the right players to fit into his system and farm out those who don't or aren't good enough.
  16. The AKI wrestling games have been long time faves of mine because the gameplay was easy to pick up, but immersive too. Shame AKI, now SynSophia, don't pick up a Puro license like for New Japan or make a KOC style game for the next gen consoles so you've got all the Japanese promotions top wrestlers on there. I like the concept of community creations and on one of the WWE games think it was WWE'13 had downloaded a NJPW, NOAH et al ring and mostly had matches with those guys and old school NWA/JCP/WWF/WCW too. For the last point, unfortunately you're right. For season pass it's another $24.99 with the digital edition of the game for PS4/XBone being $89.99. But making max profits is their goal at the end of the day. Just my 2 cents that they don't really need to charge an extra $25 for DLC, they could retail it for half or even a quarter of the price, since you've already paid $60 (or a bit less) for 2k16. I think the whole DLC concept isn't really value for money, unless you're getting tons of good stuff but I've never bothered with it for the other WWE games and apart from having less characters/costumes etc it hasn't really detracted from the enjoyment of the game(s).
  17. Read a few reviews like IGN and such but still kinda undecided. Is 2k16 worth getting and how does it compare to the old school AKI games?. I've noticed the submission system is getting tons of negative reactions so can you switch it back to the original one or are you stuck with it?. I also like getting old school/Puro wrestlers and having them part of the Universe mode, so can you still do that and don't really go for the DLC stuff since I think you've paid enough for the game already charging extra for other characters makes the game more expensive. Maybe just have extra characters and a new interface/moves etc available as updates each year at a more reasonable price would be a better way forward. Since essentially some of the older games just had a few tweaks but you were paying the same price for what was almost the same game each year. Kinda like the FIFA series.
  18. The results under Jurgen Klopp so far have been what I have been expecting from a realist perspective. On a plus side, they could have been worse under Rodgers when you consider how the team was performing then. Southampton are a very well organised team and have some under the radar type players who are very good & they are probably one of the better teams in the Prem at the moment so a draw isn't so bad. But and I said this in my other post after the Europa league game, if he doesn't start to win soon the massive sense of optimism will turn into bitter disappointment & they'll be posts on forums like 'We shoulda went with Rafa again or with Ancelotti". What also should be considered is that he doesn't have a fully fit Benteke and these are the other injuries On the plus side 1 week for Sturridge's return is very good news & 4 weeks for Hendo is promising too, but the Gomez & Ings injuries will take a lot longer to come back from I'm guessing as they are both ACL Knee injuries. So once he gets some key players back and the system is more in place than I think the Reds will turn it around. Klopp's a top level manager and I still think he's the right guy for the job. But I think the over optimism (and I was drawn into it too) could be costly in terms of fans over expecting what he can achieve. A good run in the cup(s) this season would be a good sign of improvement and a top 6 finish at best you can realistically hope for. But I also think the Liverpool powers that be will be very scrutinising over Klopp's reign and if he falls too far away from the pack and he loses games with the fans turning against him they'll have no qualms in firing him. So really he has to turn it around sooner rather than later, the first 3 performances have been good and considering the injury issues and such. Liverpool were a bit unlucky today I thought and the conceding goal was very scrappy so if they tighten up at the back, get Coutinho to play the ball better and not be as wasteful (he had quite a lot of wasted chances today) and have a fully fit Benteke & Sturridge up front they'll no doubt starting winning games and more important now is scoring goals. Liverpool's strength has always been their pass and move style of play & attacking football and once Jurgen gets everyone playing the right way I think it'll be a start of a long run of success.
  19. Sad news about Flip Saunders. The pic KG posted on his twitter is especially sad too RIP Flip
  20. Not a bad performance per se yesterday, but I expected a bit more against Rubin Kazan. They were a plucky team though and had a few good chances. I think the honeymoon period of Klopp's appointment could go sour quite quickly though if he doesn't win a game. But it's all about taking the time to develop a team. Look at Man Utd, they were going to sack Fergie if they lost in the FA Cup against Palace in 1990 (IIRC) and their whole history could have been wiped out if Sir Alex wasn't in the hotseat. So I think Jurgen has to be given time to work his magic. It could take 6 months, a year, even 2 but once his system is in place and integrated within the whole team I think it'll pay dividends. True, but he can be wasteful with the ball when he takes chances for himself. I was thinking more of a Xavi or a Iniesta type who's feeding the front man or front men all the time with intricate passes. A playmaker more so for the benefit of the team or maybe one capable enough of making their own chances and finishing them too. Coutinho is a top quality player though just needs to work on his technique & finishing a little. Shame Jurgen Klopp doesn't have a fully fit team to work with then they'd have hit the ground running.
  21. Very well said SVP and good news about Lamar.
  22. Personally I thought it was a big improvement of a performance by Liverpool. They defended a bit better and seem to be more committed to winning the ball back after losing it. I think the team is still sorely lacking in some areas and they lack a real playmaker who can orchestrate stuff and injuries haven't helped matters either. Once Jurgen Klopp has a full side to choose from and manages to get some new players in in January then I think Liverpool will finish at least top 6. His pre-match interview on BT Sports was also unintentionally hilarious when they were asking him his plans for the future and he was like "I only prepared for this game!". The Rubin-Liverpool game should be fun to watch and I see Liverpool winning comfortably there. Hummels has tipped Klopp to eventually with the Reds the title so I wonder if he'll factor into the equation down the road, similar to Brendan Rodgers bringing in Joe Allen.
  23. They couldn't really kayfabe the Lana/Rusev engagement when it's on TMZ Sports website, but WWE definitely could have handled it better. I wonder whether down the line if any other similar things happen whether WWE will break kayfabe again and abandon storylines. Although I assume the conclusion to the Rusev/Lana/Summer/Dolph thing was Rusev & Lana get back together anyway. Having Rusev jobbed out (plus the dressing down by Summer) to me certainly seems like punishment from Vince, Steph & co for the engagement being brought to light and throwing "creative" into a muddle. But really WWE should know they are a real life couple and it would have made much more sense to have kept them together and them using the engagement within a storyline as like the uniting of a "Superpower" where they have been ordered by Putin to create an army of Mini-Rusev(s) to do his bidding.
  24. Never seen YT like that, unless you have like a Director account (or its called something similar I think) and that could be the default layout now. Is it the same in other web browsers, as by looking at the pic it looks like a Firefox skin has embedded itself within the Youtube page.
